This is the last bar that I went to before moving to Ann Arbor for school after graduating from High School. I was working overnight at Service Merchandise and ended up going here with my supervisor after our last shift together. It was about 7:45 in the morning and the place had 3 men in there who could tell you where they were when Pearl Harbor got bombed. Thankfully, my supervisor was Filipino, so they really accepted us :) Â If you grew up downriver you'd be used to dudes like this though.
I had a fake ID, but who asks for your ID when you walk in at 7:45am?
We had a shot of Early Morning Whiskey, and I almost lost the cheetos I had killed a bit earlier. Never since then have I had a shot of Early Morning, but I have been back to the White Horse (or the Pale Pony as us locals started calling it). I've had a friend's sister or two host Karaoke here, so I can't say much bad about the White Horse. It's still standing and that rocks! Â Dive with a capital "D." Â If you really, really love BW3 down the street then you can probably stay the heck away from here, but if you like Stray Cats down Fort, and other Divey dive dives like that, then you'll be fine here.
Edit - I just filled out the survey and laughed out loud when I got to the question about "does this place have a coat check?" HA!
