We've been here a few times and recently have found the food to be better than it used to be. Last night we went for dinner and I ordered from the "White Palace Specials" that were hand written on a board on the wall. When I placed my order I even said, "I'll have the special - the BBQ ribs". Fine. I got them, they were delicious. However, on the hand written board, it said ribs $8.95, on my bill it said $16.95. When I questioned the waiter/owner, he said no, they're $16.95. I pointed to the board and told him that's not what the sign says. He informed me that's for lunch, at dinner they're $16.95. No where on the board did it indicate these were lunch specials only or have a designated time from which they were valid. When I said I wanted to order the special he could have told me then that the prices listed were only for lunch. I ended up paying the bill but felt cheated. If that's how they are going to conduct business, I won't be back.

My husband and I go in occassionally. We enjoy the quaint atmosphere and I like the mexican dishes. They are very good. When I have a craving for Mexican this is our first choice in town. The owner is very friendly and strives to give good service. The prices are very good and would be great for families.

We've been a couple of times and have done OK. Your appreciation will depend heavily on whether or not you find older decor quaint / neat / authentic / transportative-to-another-era, or if it just leaves you wanting for modern big-box predictability. I sort-of see both perspectives, though personally am more charmed than put-off by White Palace's style.

Vegetarian options are pretty weak, so the only times I've been, is when I've been in the mood for the quite tasty, corn-centric "palace salad." The meat options have looked pretty good, and come on generously sized platters. It's always very friendly in there.

Simultaneously destroys two food cultures - Greek and Mexican. Not that this is fusion, it's just a mish-mashed menu of both. Dirty, seedy dive. Okay for a quick lunch, but I won't be back for dinner!  With all the better places in town, you'd think they'd fix up the place, change the menu, stop the out dated karaoke, and get a handle on what people are looking for in a restaurant!

Breakfast this morning with a BNI group was very well done by the owner himself, Jose.  I was impressed with the new layout and approach to a new menu.  I will be back.

Had a good dinner with my family of six tonight.  The kids had a small pizza which they really enjoyed.  We shared fries with gravy as an appetizer-the gravy had great flavor.  I had the chicken posole soup and the Jose's salad.  The soup was a little salty but overall good and the salad was a great value-huge with avocado, pico de gallo, etc.

I love this place. I've been coming here for ten years and the food is great and cooked to order. It's a diner style food with a Mexican flair.

1 star is generous for this place.
Hit up Magnolias just a block North.

Philip G said what can be said accurately:
"The White Palace restaurant is a dive. Kind of unique historic location but totally not worth it in terms of the food and service. It's a weird blend of greek food and mexican food because the original owners were greek and the current ones are mexican but it just ends up being completely mediocre all around. Perhaps it was better when real greeks made greek food. It can be pretty uncomfortable for customers when it's just the owner and his mexican friends in there as well.

Also, don't go to their DJ or karaoke nights - the bar has the most questionable clientele from the furthest reaches of hicksville. The owner watches everyone like a hawk and can make women uncomfortable by staring.
Not the kind of place anyone I know of might want to hang out in or even try.
Go to somewhere else in town."

Went here with a friend when we were visiting form the West coast.  We decided on it because we like small mom and pop hole in the wall type places.  This place fits that bill, except it didn't have the good food you usually associate with the former.  Unimpressed with the food and service, maybe they were just having a bad day, but we likely won't try it again.

This restaurant is located in downtown Purcellville.  It's basically your typical family type of joint.  The inside is pretty old and out dated.  We walked in around 1:00 for lunch.  The place was empty, with exception to the owner, manager, server, or whatever you want to call him.  We were seated at a table, given menus, and our drink orders were taken.

We all got water.  There were 3 in our parts.  We decided to order onion rings for an appetizer.  Then we placed our orders.  A Ruben, Grilled cheese with black bean soup, and a gyro.

Our onion rings came soon came out.  They were your basic premade stuff, just deep friend. Nothing really wrong with that.  They tasked fine.   The rest or our meals came out a few minutes later.  There was really nothing too special about our meals.  They all tasked fine, nothing great, but not too bad.

The person waiting on us was very friendly. He always made sure our dinks were filled.  Parking is only available on the street.  If you are lucky you might find a parking spot in the parking lot across the street.

Nothing too fancy, but not too bad.
