Nice place, clean and safe, nice attentive staff. Â Drinks were a little expensive and small buit not that bad. Â I woud give a higher ratng except they need to change advertising.
With a name like Wild West Saloon i would have avoided the place altogether but the ad said the DJ spun country, rock andf hip hop. We like one of those and can tolerate the other so we thought it might be okay since we did not know any other place in Billings. The problem was the music was 90 plus percent country with a little hip hop thrown in (by a little I mean a few an hour) but in the nearly four hours we were there not one rock song played.  The interesting thing is the crowd clearly favored the hip hop songs as ther dance floor filled when they played and all but emptied on the country songs.  You would think the DJ would have taken the hint but he clearly favored country  and figured everyone should.
I don't get to billings often but would like to find a decent place to dance. If you like country music this is it. I like rock and will not be taken in by the ads again. Alas my quest continues for rock and roll on the east side of Montana.
I've been to this place a few times in the past but always sat on the Surfer Joe's side of the building(connected bar). I have to say that this is a very fun place to go! I was a little put off when I first walked in, I just saw a sea of cowboy hats and heard some twangy music. The truth is that they place a good mix of music(mostly country though) and everyone dances to everything! The bartenders and wait staff are very friendly and attentive, you don't have to wait long for a drink. They have a beer-only bar(helps out with wait time), a few pool tables and an attached casino. about every 30-45 minutes the DJ calls out for drink specials and promos which keeps things interesting. Prices are very good and not a lot of attitudes from the clientele. As a born, bred and committed Californian, I was afraid that I would not fit in. You won't ever see me in a cowboy hat but I'm definitely a fan and will come back on my future trips to Billings.
