I have actually been coming to Willie's for years. I had always been very pleases with prices and service. The last 3 times I went there were not so pleasant though. Twice to eat and once to have some drinks. The food was cheap but took quite some time to get to us and it wasn't all that busy. I waited awhile for my check but, I wasn't in a hurry so not too big of a deal. The night I went in just for drinks there was a woman bartender. I couldn't even get her to look at me. I was finally able to get a drink when a man offered to buy me one. She greeted him immediately. I tried waving, pushing my empty drink forward and even resulting to having to say 'excuse me.' I will probably not be coming back for a little while.
Review Source:No they do not have a great beer selection or a great food menu but if you want some typical bar fair and cheap beer with TVs everywhere to see a game then you are in the right place. If you are going to watch a particular game then find it on a TV and sit so you can see it, the wait staff can help you here. It seems that they can change channels for you but may be reluctant if there is a big game going on (think bengals, steelers, or buckeyes).
Everyone seems really friendly even with a mix of sports fans in the crowd. So just go for a game, food and fun.
Oh and for you Steelers fans, this is the place for you if you are just north of Cincy.
I very disappointed in this restaurant, but not because of the food but their customer service. Â My boyfriend and I were visiting from out of town and stopped to eat with my daughter. Â The waiter spilled all our drinks on us and ruined my boyfriend's phone. Â He had insurance on the phone and we only had to pay 89.00 for a new one. Â We called the manager and he had us bring a receipt and said he would pay us back. Â Many phone calls later still no check. Â This happened the first week of June 2010.
I am sad that they lied to us about covering the charges and didn't honor their commitment. Â Needless to say we will never go there again when back in Cincinnati.
Came to this little sports bar after working a Friday night football game. Â We had actually met there before the game, but since none of us had eaten, we decided to come back and see if the food tasted as good as it had looked. Â And for the most part it did.
Ordered twelve hot wings for myself and as a table we ordered the Heartstopper (a gi-normous plate of waffle fries with melted cheese, bacon, and onions....unless of course the rest of the table wimps out on the onions and asks them to be removed....with plenty of ranch for dipping). Â I asked for both blue cheese and ranch to dip for my wings. Â
The waitress brought us a bunch of ranches and blue cheeses. Â Although one of them was not ranch. Â As a matter of fact, we spent a good five minutes as a table dipping straws in that particular dip trying to figure out what it was. Â All we could come up with....not ranch.
The place itself looks kind of cool. Â You step in and you can either head forward and go to the bar, which is a bit elevated, or you can go either left or right to the dining areas. Â On the right it's almost all booths, and on the left, you've got some booths but mostly tables. Â The left side dining room also has the majority of TV's that are broadcasting various sporting events. Â Everywhere you look on the walls it's Reds, Bengals, and Lakota West High School Sports memorabilia. Â Lot of trophies and jerseys from the high school. Â That's always nice to see...a business supporting local schools.
Our waitress was pretty friendly, and as I mentioned earlier the food was pretty good. Â The next day I was still tasting the wings in my chest. Â That's good wings. Â Food did take a little longer than desired to make it to the table.
The only thing that really made this just an okay experience was the fact that Friday nights is Karaoke night. Â Not that I hate Karaoke per se, but I'm not a big fan of having to scream at the top of my lungs just to have a conversation with the person sitting across the table from me. Â So that made the whole experience just average.
I'm sure it's a much better place to go to when it's not Karaoke night. Â But that's when I went and that sort of took a lot away. Â Oh well.
Mahalo, and enjoy.
