I love the place! Owners care for their customers. Music is great and the wine is so good. I always go back because I miss the warm ambience and service.

It's a nice place, but like most wine bars in Valencia the prices are RIDICULOUS!!

My wife and I both had 2 glasses of wine and a cheese plate.  Wine was "eh".  Cheese was "eh"  The bill with tip was...  $90.   :I

I don't blame her for charging that if the "Credit Card" rich in SCV are stupid enough to pay it.   Fool me once.

Wine 661 is a small wine lounge in Santa Clarita. It has a pretty chilled atmosphere. We went here on a Friday night, enjoyed some live acoustic music, wine, and panini's. The crowd is mostly middle-aged, but we had a good time.

Was there on a Saturday night and they had a live band! The place is cozy and the service was great! Really enjoyed my evening and I plan to return.

I happened upon Wine 661 as an accident, but I've been coming back ever since.  My office is down the street, so I was eager to find a good wine bar in the area. First thoughts: the owner, Tanya, is lovely.  She is extremely personable and friendly, and knows a ton about wine.  She can help a newbie and an experienced wine drinker alike.  Flossy, one of the employees, is equally great.

Now to the wine.  FIrst of all, you get 25% off any bottle you walk out of the shop with.  Not bad, right?  The wine list, while not extensive, has pretty much everything you can imagine, i.e. a good range of sparking, white and red.  If you don't see anything you like, wander over to the bottle section and purchase a bottle to crack open with a few friends.  Don't like wine? No problem.  The bar has an extensive beer selection as well.

The food is equally delicious.  I LOVE their cheese options.  The menu also includes more unique options such as a selection of sausages, bruschetta, panini and dessert.  I believe, Happy Hour is from 4-6 daily.  Also, on Friday and Saturday night the bar hosts live music.  Quite a hip joint for Santa Clarita.

To be fair, we didn't even sample the offerings at Wine 661.  We didn't sample anything, because when we got there no one was in sight to assist us.  We walked in to see three patrons sitting on a couch, and no one minding the store.  We heard someone shuffling around in back and waited for a word of acknowledgement or a "I'll be right with you."  Nothing.  I was hungry, I wanted a snack, and I didn't want to wait and feel awkward.  Their online calendar says happy hour is from 3pm; we were there around 5pm on a Friday.  Not my idea of a Happy Hour.  If the door is open, you need to be ready to receive your customers. We left, and Wokcano across the street got our business.  Rule 1 to customer service: welcome them before they walk out the door.

Excellent place!  We stopped in for a "quick" glass of wine while doing our holiday shopping and ended up staying for a few glasses and some cheese & crackers.  Everything tasted great, the atmosphere was divine, the staff was friendly and knowledgable, and the place was clean and comfortable.

Came here on a friday night. The staff was fun and knowledgeable about their wine. The food was delious, but a little pricey for such small portions. They had a live band, they were just ok. They also have a nice beer selection.

Been here several times, and I am a fan! Although I don't normally drink wine, what I tried was delicious. They have beer too, but it's all imports and expensive. I enjoy the live music they provide too, but only when there is not a drummer involved. this place is very small, and seating is very limited. If the band gets too loud, it can get kind of annoying. The woman who works there is always polite, but the gentleman who works there never seems to smile.

This is a great place to take a date, if it's not too loud. I almost wish they got rid of the entire wine sales area and doubled the size of the place for guests.

    I will go back.

We enjoyed a long evening at Wine 661 last night with friends. The proprietress has an extensive knowledge of all of the wines featured and has great recommendations based on your tastes. There is also live music on Friday and Saturday nights - great place for date night. I highly recommend the wine & cheese flight - delicious!

My sister and I came in a month ago for some wine and tasty treats. After we got comfortable on the couch, Tanya came by, and made some suggestions. We both had the Roussanne, since that is generally not served by the glass. We also ordered the cheese plate, bruchetta, and the olive tapenade. All three complemented our wine fabulously. We ended up having an excellent time with great service. I can't wait to come back and do the same.

My cousin and I came here for a glass of wine and some dessert, on a regular weekday afternoon. We were regularly attended to by the bartender - she suggested we try the chocolate panini, and I'm glad we did. Mmmm. Such a cute place. I'm glad that spots like these, where you can get a glass of wine and chill out in a lovely setting, are becoming de rigeur in town. I'll have to bring my boyfriend here, maybe when they have live music.

My husband and I stopped in on a whim and we were so glad we did.  The ambiance is warm and inviting.  The owner is friendly and knowledgeable.  We enjoyed a flight of reds and were pleased with the selection.  Although we did not try any food items this time, the menu had  a wonderful selection from small bites to dessert.  We will definitely return to this one!

Wine 661 is the perfect place for a wine novice like me. I have been drinking wine for a few years, but my background is beer. Wine 661 has both! So if you're in the mood for a cold beer on a hot day, they have unique selection that doesn't disappoint.

I'm a red wine drinker so I don't know much about the whites, but I can tell you that I love their champagne selection and have them often! Their reds are always fantastic as well, and I have loved every single bottle that I have received with my wine club membership.

Tanya is the best gal to hang out with after a long day at work, and the low lighting and comfy furniture helps reduce the stress of the day.  The weekends are usually jumpin' with great music and the bar definitely has a great vibe going on.

Tanya's recommendations for wine as gifts or wine to take home for dinner are always spot on!I highly recommend this place as the coziest neighborhood wine bar ever.

Run don't walk to Wine 661!

Listen, I never, ever write a review on Yelp because it's so subjective and I don't believe 90% of what I read. But what I will say is this: If I'm taking the time to tell you Wine 661 is the best place in Valencia to hang out (and that's saying a lot - it's Valencia) then you should definitely stop by, whether you're a local or just passing through on the freeway and need a break. Fabulous wines, great appetizers, and even better company from Tanya (the owner) and the regulars (oh all the Cougars, watch out!) Seriously, though, I feel like I have my "Cheers" and I couldn't be happier.

I kept eyeing this place as I made my way to corner bakery but for whatever reason I never checked it out until my yoga instructor announced he was going to be performing there so I figured why not. I love live music and I LOVE wine.

It was jam packed with mainly cougars but it was a nice experience. Aside from it being packed we were greeted, attended and were not ignored.

The glass of merlot I tried was amazing. So amazing I have returned to order it on a not so packed weekday. The bartender was really friendly and made small talk with us.

Overall, a very nice environment for a nice glass of wine!

You know it's a cool place when 90% of the clientele are women! I'd like to assume cougars to keep it sexy.

Their cellar is absolutely gorgeous, and takes up a third of the room. The wine bottle chandlier is so creative and beautiful! I would love a replica of both of those in my house. :)

Come during Happy Hour (weekdays until 6:00 PM) when you can enjoy their good selection of red & white wines, or champagne, for under $7/glass.

For the non-wine drinkers, they also have a good selection of bottled craft beers.

There are some snacky items on their menu to help you absorb some of that fermented fruit juice before driving home to your husband & rugrats. :)

Bottom line: Wine 661 a good place to catch up with 21+ friends in the SCV.

You gotta love the smaller, local shops - whats great about this place is that its owned and run by Tanya, one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.  Beyond that, you have a plethora of interesting wines to take home or drink there - you can choose from over 100 different wines by the bottle or sample over 17 wines that she has on tap and available by the glass.  Many of these wines are unique and hard to find, and available at any price point - and there are craft beers available for purchase, so literally something for everyone!  Live music and simple but elegant food selections makes this one of the best places in the SCV for a good drink and a good time.

We have been going to this wine bar for several months.  Compared to the others, this is the best in town.  Great atmosphere, great food and desserts.  Tanya and Tony are very personable and always welcome everyone who walks through the door.  Their beers are very tasty and a great selection.  The weekend music is fantastic.  Sign up on their email list to get their wine deals and entertainment notifications.

I wish yelp could delete all of the reviews BEFORE Tanya owned the place!!!!

Wine 661 is my favorite wine bar in town!! It has a neighborhood feel because there are SO many regulars! And Tanya will remember you all! Trust me! She is incredibly personable and attentive. She is always wandering around checking on everyone to make sure they have what they need. She is incredible knowledgable about all of the wine, plus all of the exotic beer they have! They are constantly running specials and having events there as well.

Live music every Friday and Saturday night. Depending on the band, the place could be so packed it's standing room only, so come early to get a seat.

If you're tired of all the scenesters around town at the restaurant bars, this is a place to check out. Very posh, totally vibey.

Wine 661 is always at the top of my list!

This is a great neighborhood wine bar with an intimate feel.  They offer live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights.  You can order a flight or a glass of your favorite varietal.  A cozy and comfortable feel for a "shopping center" location.

    Love! Love! Love!

I've been drinking wine at 661 for a long while and I'm NEVER disappointed! Even though I don't make it in as much anymore (there's a kid in the picture these days), the owner still recognizes my husband and I and always makes us feel at home. They have a lot of "regulars" and it's not hard to see why.

I appreciate the wine selection they have and the prices that go with them--there's something for everyone.  They have $20 tastings, live music and comfy couches! Couldn't be better!

I went to Girls Night Out last night and met some great women that I will do business with. I love the entertainment on the weekend too!

Wine 661 is a great place to stop by for a glass of wine or imported beer.  The owner, Tanya, knows her stuff and she's very personable.  She's regularly switching up the wines on her Happy Hour menu and changing the appetizer options on the menu.  Happy Hour wines range from about $6-10 per glass and non-Happy Hour are probably more like $8-20 depending on the glass.  Either way it's pretty reasonable.  The atmosphere is usually really nice and most small groups will intermingle a bit.  There are two good loungy (coach + love seat) areas if you're going with a small group.  My colleagues and I regularly show up for Happy Hour and always enjoy ourselves.  If you're looking for entree type food portions you won't find it here but Wine 661 pretty much has everything you'd expect at a Wine Bar and then some.

Good, melo atmosphere with down to earth people. This is a great place if you just want to lounge around with a friend and relax for a bit. The wine selection by the bottle isn't exactly stellar, but that's not really why you come here anyways. If you're looking to buy retail, I would suggest Valencia Wine Co. The staff seems reletively knowledgeable and they seem to have a good selection by the glass.

Always friendly, great selection of wine and they have the best selection of imports and Belgian beers in town.   The owners and the regulars are super friendly. Appetizer menu is also excellent.

What keeps us from going there more are that the place is small and has no dance floor.

It only takes about 25 or so patrons to fill to capacity so you need to get there early on a Friday or Saturday night if you want a seat.

Lately it's been more crowded. For the first time ever we went and there were no seats and people were standing around. We waived hello to the owners and walked out and went over to Valencia Wine Company.

We were happy to see that business is taking off but I fear it means we'll be there much less often than before unless they get a bigger space. I hope they try to expand.

This Review was written before the last change in ownership.  The small plate menu and wine have had some changes and I will be writing a more current review soon.  I have been there since the change and they still warrant 4 stars:

I've never really had a problem with wine attitudes.  Like the first time my husband Eddie and I visited France.  We were warned that the waiters would turn up their noses if we selected the wrong wines, scoff at an inexpensive choice and return our check too quickly.  I spent the long flight getting there refreshing my French to avoid the problem.  Ed scoffed at me.  He said just be yourself; no erase that, just be like me: polite.

It amazed me that our earnest attempts at French were not laughed at.  Our earnest attempts to learn were far from scoffed at.  And, in being earnestly polite, we were richly rewarded in enjoying and learning about French wines.  Our summarization: Attitude comes from the drinker, not the server, and certainly not the wineries which by basic successful business standards pretty much prohibit discrimination.

With that in mind, we ventured into the cozy local Wine 661 for a taste.  We had been disappointed with Wine Savor, the former store ownership, as we would like to drink more than just a $10 bottle limit.  We gave it six visits before giving up.  We never voiced our complaint, trying to be polite, we just wanted a little more selection and sought it elsewhere.  But now, even though there were new owners, we weren't sure if we would be comfortable in a place that promised "no attitude".  What if they sniffed out our experienced palates and assumed attitude?  How should we behave?  We settled on our old standby of: "politely".

We were unsure about the flights of wine offered and ventured into the recesses of the racks to try a mid-priced Australian Shiraz we had never heard of.  A nice screw capped Kilikanoon South Australia Killerman's Run Shiraz Grenache 2004, to be exact, as we bought a bottle before leaving.  That's not all we bought though.

After settling in and watching bartendress Val deftly decant our wine we took a look around to see what a wine bar "without attitude" looked like.  It looked like a lot of women.  I don't mean dozens but at least an even half.  Young women.  Lounging on the comfortable sofas.  Relaxing.  Gazing out of the store front.  Looking glorious in the soft lighting.  Checking out the appetizer menu.  We were left to consider that a wine bar was probably a more respectable place for women to meet than a regular bar.  But then we moved on to what they had: the appetizer menu.

Out of a surprising six selections we settled on the Warm Brie w/Raspberry Chipotle Drizzle that Val warned us was the drizzle to die from.  I think she even said she used it in her PB & J.  Like spicy chutney, when paired with the warm brie and the Shiraz, our palates were quite pleased.  Not sated, of course, we ordered the olive Tampenade.  Slightly chunky but with the same favorable bit of dueling flavors.  Again it seemed perfectly matched with our wine.

Had we been hungrier we would have ventured on to the Warm Spinach Dip, Assorted Cheese Plate, Chicken Skewers with Teriyaki Sauce and the "Ménage Et Trois" bit of salami, white cheddar and nuts.  Next time we told ourselves.  As all were reasonably priced, having more than one for a dinner or as a snack sounded just about right.

So next time you want to go out and leave your attitude at home remember it's all up to you.  You can sniff and swirl anywhere.  But when will you learn something?  When you are open to it and not above it.

My cousin had his engagement celebration here last week , although I am not a wine fan I tagged along just for fun. I don't know the relationship between my cousin and the owner but I know she stayed open late to accommodate out group of  around 25. ( 10 p.m. - 12 p.m.) the owner was VERY sweet and thats why i give them 4 stars!

Its cute and dark inside very romantic, great for a date! I don't know anything about wine so I can't really rate that part of the world. I also didn't even see a food menu.

quaint, cozy, and with a welcoming vibe...  i was pleasantly surprised by Wine 661 last night.  this place has changed hands so many times from the initial Wine Savor that occupied the space, and its never offered consistently great wines for sale or by the glass, but its been years so i thought i'd give it a go...

probably the most odd selection of wines i think ive seen at a winebar - grocery store brands mixed in with random finds like Stolpman & Foley, though, of course the latter aren't available by the glass.

but at the same time it didn't really matter to me, the atmosphere was so comfortable and relaxing, just spread out on the leather sofa near another couple quietly conversing adjacent to us, soft, dimly lit room, just enough hushed background conversation...  mediocre wine be damned, i could've sat there for hours.

if the selections improved a bit itd be 4 stars easy, but right now the product is holding them back - i also won't be avoiding this place like i did in the past, though, it will be with a friend or date for a good time and not the Argentinian Malbec on the menu.

Like Larry M. I was here about a year ago and was not impressed - with the wine or the staff.  After Larry's review and a write up in this months 661 magazine I decided to give it another shot.

We went in on Saturday night for a drink and an look at the revised menu. The atmosphere at Wine 661 is nice, with a dimly lit interior and cozy couches for you to lounge and order wine, drinks, cheese plates and little appetizers. The wine selection was good. We tried a few glasses of pinot, syrah and a cab.  With our wine we ordered the 3 cheeses for $12 and 3 meats for $12 - I was pleased with the cheese plate but the meat plate was lacking I thought a bit overpriced for what we got.  It would be nice to see a more robust offering maybe a complete meat/cheese plate with assorted friendlies like figs, quince, honey, toast points etc.

During our visit the owner and some of her friends were there as well.  She was very friendly and down to earth, not trying to be pretentious or snobby - In turn Wine 661 reflects that same vibe.

I had stopped in here about a year ago.  I was not impressed, they had only a handful of wine selections and appeared to be more of a wine bar than a wine store.

Fast forward a year.  I decided to sample my local wine bars and stopped in at Wine 661 after hitting Valencia Wine Company.  It is a small place, about half the store is wine for sale by the bottle.  The other half is the wine bar.

I browsed their selections by the bottle.  There was nothing too impressive, most everything I had never heard of (this could be good or bad).  They appeared to stock mostly mid-range wines.  I did see a  couple of duds.  Most surprising was the bottle of Crane Lake.  I almost left at this point.  They sell this cheap swill at Trader Joes, it is made by the same mega company that mass produces the two buck chuck.  For Crane Lake, they take and soak wood chips in it (called tea bagging) to make it taste oakey.  Sorry but it still tastes like paint thinner and it says a lot about any establishment trying to serve this.

We decided to stay and try a flight of reds.  We were served by the owner, Tanya.  After bringing us our vino, she sat and chatted for a bit.  It seems she just bought the business 5 weeks ago.  She wanted some feedback on her offerings.  I brought up the laughable Crane Lake she was selling.  She said that it is part of the inventory she is trying to get rid of.

It seems the prior owner was also serving Costco frozen items as appetizers for sale to customers.  Tanya has removed items such as mozzarella sticks from the menu and replaced them with more appropriate items such as meat and cheese plates.  This is a wine bar and not TGI Fridays after all.

I feel bad reviewing this place now because they are going through a transformation.  Tanya said she was going to have live jazz the following weekend.  She did not seem to be an expert on wine, but I could be wrong.  It will be interesting to see what new products she brings in.

One other note, in the hour that I was there I saw our local sheriff's department driving the parking lot in front slowly.  This happened three times.  Apparently, one of the bartenders knows a deputy and asked for extra patrols for some reason in the past and they now pay a little extra attention to the place.  Be certain when you leave that you are able to drive.  There are no neighboring businesses open late, so if you are pulling out of here after 10pm, it is obvious where you were.

In all, I recommend you stop in and try Wine 661.  I will be back in a few weeks to see how things are shaping up.  The place has a lot of potential and I wish Tanya luck on making into a great place to spend an evening.
