HAPPY HOUR!!!
Here at the Rockside one for a few beers and munchies...Only bad part is parking cause you are at war with the hotels that are stacked on top of each other here so get there early!
But crap! reasonably priced beers for happy hour and great snacks like pfreds pfreferred pfries!!! yum!!! Their wings are freaken delish too!!! Don't think there is a bad choice on the menu either~! We were on the cusp of being outside and still in the bar cause it called for rain but we lucked out and it was great! You can see the downtown skyline from here because it is at the top of the hill and shows well to our out of town visitors....
Great time!!!
I'm usually a huge fan of the Lizard, but since they changed locations the service has quickly gone downhill. Way downhill. On the plus side, the view is really great especially if you are sitting on the patio. The food is very reasonably priced & good on a regular basis. I'm not usually a wings fan, but they are pretty tasty (Monday & Tuesday are  wing night!) & have a good variety of flavors. And the best? The beer! Im a big fan of beer & the selection does not disappoint.
We waited a minimum of 10 minutes for coffee. The waitress kept bringing up the fact she forgot it...and then forgot it again. Wrong sandwich & beer rung in but out of frustration just took them. The waitress was nice and I'm hoping new.
Sadly, even though I live a little   over a mile away, I have not been going to the Lizard much, primarily due to the service. On a recent visit, it was considerably quicker to walk to the bar, wait for  a bartender, order a beer & water, pay tab and walk to the table than to find our server and have her do the same. The worst about that visit? The place wasn't even that busy (the waitress had enough time to literally sit down on a chair and chat up the table next to me). For my last visit, we ordered our (first round of) drinks at the bar before we got to a table. The bartender was great and Im thinking our visit would have been better if we would have stayed there. We waited at least 20 minutes after our server greeted us before we ordered. However, in the words of my dining companion "whatever, it's still better than Chili's." I agree.
So, in conclusion had it not been for the shoddy service, I would have happily rated the Winking Lizard five stars. At the old location the service was stellar so I'm not sure what happened. Bummer.
