A dive bar to say the least.
The only reason I ended up at this "interesting" establishment is because it was a coworkers birthday and I didnt have an excuse to not go. I was the youngest in the place by at least 30 years. It was very hard to get the bartenders atttention as she was much more concerned with taking jello shots, considering she was in her late 60's she might have had trouble hearing as well. I had to use the restroom and I would've been better off going outside. The floor was littered with paper towels and even wet toilet paper, yuck! I dont see myself back here anytime soon.
The majority of bars in the city of Cleveland receive little attention on yelp. Ostensibly, they are not remarkable or trendy. They don't define themselves to be the scene of any sort of subculture. Their owners don't spend any more money on the architecture than what's allowable by city code. If you have any discerning taste for beer, you probably want to avoid these places. These places usually don't pride themselves on having many microbrews or imports besides Labatt's, Guiness, or Heikenken. They don't participate in Cleveland Beer Week.
These are all true at Mike's. Here, there's only bud light on tap. There's a few tvs in the background. It's cheap ($2 for PBR and Rolling Rocks) and the shot pours were generous.
Right across from an AA meeting space, this place was probably the site of many relapses. There's also a small covered patio and kitchen and this place opens at noon. A regular informed me that she's seen a bit of crack (not cocaine, but of human flesh) here in the summer.
I went there once and not really seeing a need to return. .
