Winos Depot

I have been here a few times. For it to be called "Winos", their choice of wine by the glass is not great. Their choice of beer on tap, on the other hand, is amazing and the guys that are usually in there seem to be enjoying the selection. There is a great selection of wine by the bottle and a knowledgeable staff, however, as I would enjoy a good wine bar at which I could have a glass of wine every now and then, this place misses the mark slightly, with very few places to sit and more beer than wine.

This place is truly novel. It's more than a bar, it's a place to call home, or at least home away from home. End of a long day? Reason to celebrate? They sell and serve the highest quality beers and wines with sofas, tables, and a bar to make yourself comfortable. If you don't have time to hang around, grab a growler from one of 20 craft brews and take the party with you. They also sell top quality bottles of liquor (great bourbon selection), and wines. Not sure what you want, have Blake or his staff help you pick out the perfect bottle for dinner or other drink to imbibe. He is as knowledgeable as he is friendly, and loves to share his what he knows. You would expect such an experience and quality to carry a high price tag-not at all the case-maybe that's how they keep their beer so fresh. As I said truly novel, and honestly the best place in town.

As far as beer bars and wine bars go in BG I haven't found a better place. I only visit the city 2-3 times a year but until this place existed I could only find a decent beer selection at the liquor store. At Wino's you can get samples, snifters, pints to drink on site and 6 packs and growlers to go. Highly recommended if you are in the area and looking for a sophisticated place to enjoy a few sophisticated drinks.
