I always go to wolfies me and my friends, but today being my b'day my friends took me to have lunch at wolfies. Finished lunch we left then came back later to have some drinks, while we were drinking we saw a special stating crawfish was 2.99 a lb, so I placed an order for a couple lbs to go, while checking out the bar waitress had charged me 3.99 instead of 2.99 I asked her why she overcharged me and she gave me a stupid answer that carryout is 3.99!! as a customer I was confused and I asked her why is it not stating that on the display? so I asked her to call the manager, OMG, the manager looked rough as hell, her hair wasn't done, she looked like she didn't brush her teeth either, all in all I explained to her my situation, and she was so unprofessional and told me she wouldn't honor the displayed price like it was my fault. I told her me & my friends we won't go back there again!..She lost valued customers just because of 2 dollars difference. She didn't care, and her customer service skills was horrible whatsoever. Top management needs to train everybody that works there on how to make customers come back again and not running customers away, nowonder wolfies never does good in business.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Â Just ate here and found paper in my burrito and hair on the wings. Â They took the wings off the check but didn't want to take the burrito off because the waitress threw it away before the manager could look at it. Â The manager finally came to the table and said even though it was a "small piece of paper" in the burrito they would take it off the bill. Â What a joke!
Review Source:NOTORIETY: Â Texas Sports Bar Chain; UFC & WWE PPV
FOOD:
Seafood platter ($14.99 before tax):  Comes w/ catfish, 3 shrimp (small), 3 oysters (small), 2 seafood stuffed crabs, & fries.  Overall, it wasn't too salty, which is good.  The shrimp & oysters were decently flavored & tender while the catfish ok but the seafood stuffed crabs were blah.  Fries were crispy & semi-seasoned, which was pretty good.  The entire platter was edible, but I've experienced much better.
OVERALL: Â Wolfies is a below average sports bar. Â The food was so-so, but the sound was too loud & the service could have been better. Â Their attempts at trying to be like Hooters, IMO, was a D, unsatisfactory.
RECOMMENDATION: Â N/A
TIP:
1. Lunch Specials: Monday thru Friday 11am to 3pm
They've gotten pretty chintzy with the chips...used to be a generous, signature dish, now barely covers the bottom of the basket. Â Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, now clueless. Â Wings overcooked, service slow. Â Beer's still cold, when you can get it. Â Too bad, unique idea, could be a great place!
Review Source:Awful service. We usually like this place b/c of the drink specials, but tonight's service was AWFUL! We waited OVER AN HOUR for our food! The waitress told us it was b/c the kitchen misplaced our order, but we barely saw her between the time our food was ordered and when our food came out. I understand it was a busy night, but seriously?!? Other tables that were larger than us (our table had 6) and arrived AFTER us received their orders and speedier service. They comped us 1 pitcher of beer, but after waiting so long and being charged for ranch dressing and other ridiculous costs, the free pitcher barely made up for the crappy service. We usually like this place, no big expectations on our previous visits, but tonight's service was a huge let down.
Review Source:If you want to eat at a Sports Bar, go elsewhere.
The Menu is huge but frankly the descriptions leave a lot to be desired.
It is your basic, whatever we can fry and slap on a plate  fare.
The Food was not good. Â The Wings under cooked and poorly spiced. Â The Bleu Cheese was runny.
Companion ordered Gumbo and Salad. Â The gumbo was terrible and I think the Salad must have been made hours beforehand.
I would avoid.
I will not be supporting this establishment again. Food was mediocre, at best, and the service can't even be called that. The unapologetic pandering to the males at our table while treating the females with a less than distasteful attitude was apparent from the moment I sat down.
I can usually ignore the attitude of a server as long as the food is good, but this wasn't the case. I ordered the chicken wrap with the wolf bite BBQ sauce. When my plate finally came out there was no sauce. When I tried to bring this up to my waitress' she snapped at me saying, "One second." A few minutes later, a man I assume was the manager came to the table and took the sauce off another person's plate at our table and offered it to me.
Suffices to say that I let her a 1¢ tip, on my debit card bill.
Never going back .
May be some growing pains but this place needs to train its employees and get their kitchen in order.
Went for lunch today with the hubby. Â Not impressed at all and highly unlikely that we'll be back. Â I should mention that at the end of our meal we told our waitress that our meal was terrible and when she brought the check back the manager was with her and comped our meal. Â I'm not certain who he was, he never introduced himself or asked for our feedback (hubby assumed 'cause he already knew what the problems were) and I thought he was a bit contrite and seemed to almost snatch the check out of my husband's hand.
We were seated promptly but when asked to sit on the patio the hostess said pick your table but we weren't quite sure how to get to the patio from the inside and she didn't seem to be leading. I got us seated and our server appeared soon after but just seemed to kind of stand there and wait for us to acknowledge her. Â We did and ordered our drinks and appetizer, the potato skins. Â Water came quick and we ordered and was told the skins would be here "in a minute." Â Several minutes went by and she came back and said it again. Â Around 30 minutes later the appetizer arrived and I asked for our food as we both have jobs and need to get back. Â Food arrived a couple minutes later.
The potato skins were dry and tasteless. The bacon on them was inedible. Â I ordered the fish and chips. Â No vinegar was served with them, but the tartar sauce was actually pretty fair. Â The fish seemed like a good thick cut but was way overcooked and very very greasy. Â The 'chips' were good but also very greasy. Â Hubby got the BLT which, no joke, had one and a half pieces of undercooked bacon on it served on cheap white bread. Â
The other table seated at the patio seemed to have similar displeasure with the food. Â
What was probably the nail in the coffin for us not going back was the very strong impression we got that no one in the place seemed to be happy at all. Â Few spoken words by the employees, no smiles, no greetings, just a lot of indifference and lack of confidence. Â Normally this is because of lack of training.
Very disappointed. Â We like to patron local places but if Wolfie's can't serve decent food with a smile then they won't last.
Oh my, where do I start?
Hmmm, after hearing about Wolfies coming to C.S. and looking over their menu on their website, I was looking forward to trying them out.
I arrived yesterday afternoon(3/30) about 3p.m. with my father. After we were quickly seated, we ordered our drinks(a Dr.Pepper and a Root Beer) well we tried to but were informed by the server that they don't carry Root Beer (although it is shown on the menu on their website(must be a regional thing I guess, trust me people in College Station drink root beer) so my father changed his to a glass of water. Then we were given time to look over the menu - a plethora of edible items to choose from.
We decided to start with an order of chili cheese fries. It seemed a little light on the chili side (granted I don't want my fries drowning in chili but I don't want them in a wading pool afraid to get wet either), and the cheese seemed more like a cheese sauce ladled on as opposed to shredded cheese tossed under and over the chili. If I were to give the chili cheese fries their own grade it would be a 7.4 out of 10. Now onto the entrees.
My father order ordered fish and chips and I ordered something I had not had in quite a while - a Monte Cristo. This is where a problem begins to rear its head. When our entrees arrived, my Monte Cristo was missing a vital element that makes a Monte Cristo a Monte Cristo - powdered sugar. Our server had already left the table before I noticed the error (I was still busy working on the chili cheese fries when it arrived). After noticing the error I waited to get her attention(at this point I had not tried the Monte Cristo). After I pointed it out to her, I told her I would go ahead and eat it as is, but I wanted to inform her of the error. She left and returned a couple of minutes later and told me:
"The cook said that we were out of powdered sugar and so that's why he sent it out that way."
Hold the bus! What?! Now I figure that the majority of the employees at this location are brand new, most have probably never worked in a restaurant before, but this is bad. This shows bad training.
What should have happened when the cook realized that there was no powdered sugar, he should have informed the server immediately, and then the server should have informed the patron, so to give the patron the option of whether they still wanted that order, or to change it to something else.
Let's be honest, considering they have only been opened 2 days, one of 4 options has actually happened:
1. Whoever placed the commissary order did not order enough powdered sugar.
2. Whoever placed the commissary order did not order any powdered sugar.
3. There was a lot of Monte Cristo's ordered in the first 48 hours of operation.
4. The cook lied and didn't want to admit he screwed up.
The first 3 options are easily fixable considering their location and its accessibility to several grocery stores and a Sam's Club. The fourth option brings us back to - training. I do not claim to know which option is correct for having been in the restaurant business for over 20 years(now retired), I have seen them all. This is something they need to work on quickly.
My father enjoyed his fish and chips and was quite happy. My Monte Cristo was good (considering the aforementioned missing powdered sugar). The accompanied raspberry was nice(I have a weakness for raspberry). I could not finish it there and had to bring it home (oh, shucky darn).
Now the decor is nice and even though it was practically empty at the time, I can see, especially on game days, this place will be quite busy.
On a side note - I noticed they have chili fries, chili dogs and even offer chili on the loaded baked potato but they don't offer a chili burger on the menu. It could be easily be added either as a separate type of burger or as a "add chili for $x.xx" or even mentioned under the "From The Fields" section.
Considering the array of items on their menu, and if they can get the training under control. I can see them doing well in College Station. Only time will tell.....
