Just wanted to drop you a quick note and thank the Grand Woods Lodge and its staff for being so hospitable to my friends and I while we visited Grand Rapids last month. Â We were extremely impressed with the establishment, service and the overall atmosphere of the Grand Woods Lounge. Â Not sure when we'll be out to Michigan again...but rest assured when we arrive, we'll be back to the GWL.
Special shout out to Mike (world class manager) and Amanda (world class bartender) for making us feel valued, welcomed and appreciated during our visit. You guys rock, and we can't wait to see you again.
It's a restaurant? It's a club? It's a bar? It's a place for live music? I'm just not really sure... and I don't really love it as much as it seems everyone else does. I think you need to know what is going on each night and plan to visit the Woods Lounge when something you are interested in is going on.
I've only been once, waited in a long line to go to the Woods Lounge "Club" on a Saturday night though with the dance floor taking place in the open air patio, we may as well have had a dance party in the street and we wouldn't have had to pay the $10 cover to get in. Drinks were large but nothing special and the clientele was relatively classy and mid-20's to 30's (aside from the two guys trying to have a fist fight in the middle of the dance floor, it was only 11pm, c'mon guys).
I guess I just don't get the whole rustic, Northern Michigan decor turning into a club thing...
