Food is great and atmosphere is fun. Â The staff tries hard and the owner is accommodating. Â We had a Hail and Farewell for my Battalion here and it was a great time. Â The beer selection is ok and they sometimes have live music. Â I would recommend the fish and chips or one of the burgers...
Review Source:Ok so I have very mixed feelings about this place. One the one hand I love the location, atmosphere, and drinks selection. On the other hand the place is very noisy when its filled, the food is really good unless the kitchen is "swamped", then it comes out overdone or too crispy. I have been the Wyatt's a handful of times and every time I went I have been impressed with both the service and the food/drinks, that is until my last visit. We went to Wyatt's on a Friday night with a party of eight and were seated relatively quick considering it was packed in there and we had such a large party. Our server was exceptionally attentive to our needs and was fast getting us drinks and taking care of us. The food we ordered was not as good as I have known it to be when I have been there during "slow hours". However, I still enjoyed the experience, just my fish and chips were well over cooked and my fiancées burger was supposed to be medium yet it was well done. All in all I would chalk that one experience up to it being very busy, so Wyatt's gets a bye for that night.
I do like Wyatt's and would recommend it to anyone wanting good quality pub fare accompanied by fast/attentive service and a robust drink selection.
I was really pleasantly surprised by Wyatt's. My friend was in town and picked up a http://restaurant.com gift certificate for this place, and we hobbled in for lunch in the middle of a snowstorm after ice climbing. There weren't many people there, but the staff was super friendly and cheerful, and chatted easily with us. I also asked if they had the Boston Bruins game on, and the bartender gladly turned it on for me, and indicated that they have the NHL package (Hockey fans, go here!).
They've got a decent beer selection, and service was fantastic, and the inside of the bar is clean and bright, if a little nondescript. My friend and I both ordered the Colorado Burger. A burger with bacon, spicy queso and caramelized onions. I had a side of onion rings, and my friend had fries. Everything was pretty great! It's not amazing cooking, and the rings and fries were pretty standard, and I was slightly disappointed the burger patty was just a standard frozen patty like you could buy in the grocery store (or at least tasted exactly like it) but the whole was more than the sum of its parts. It was really tasty, the staff was great, definitely a fun place to stop in. Especially when in need of sustenance after scaling ice walls.
I'll be back, Wyatt's, maybe before a DU/CC game next season!
This bar has it all. Â Their drinks are great, nice selection of beer including west coast beers. Â Every thing that I have had to eat has been great, I haven't personally had the breakfast pizza but I've seen it and the smiles it produces. Â We go there for alumni game days and the owners have gone out of their way to host us. Â I love this place and if I lived closer, I would frequent more often.
Review Source:We just happened to go in here and I was quite impressed. Â My salad was A-OK, the beer selection is good, and the kids menu is more than adequate. Â My wife's pizza was amazing. Â The best thing we ordered was the fried pickles. Â They were the best I've had in a long time if not ever. Â They were crisp, not flimsy. Â I'd highly recommend them if you go. Â
Just the tip - It's also a great place to watch games. Â We were there on a Sunday and there were so many NFL games on I couldn't keep track. Â Your game is sure to be playing.
Went here after getting a $25 coupon for $10 on http://restaurant.com. Â Had dinner and beers. Â They have a decent food menu...typical bar fare. Â Quality was average to slightly below...beer selection is decent. Â I would go back but only if in the area and to have a couple beers. Â I would not go for the food. Â Wait staff was very nice and efficient.
Review Source:The food was good. Â This is a small place and the noise really echoes so conversations need to be at high volume for the others to hear when it's crowded. Â
Don't order a mixed drink; it probably won't be that good. Â Good selection of beers.
We had to wait a long time for our beers even though the bartender didn't appear very busy at the time. We waived down a woman that seemed to be in charge and told her about the wait. Â The beers were there immediately. Â After that the server was scarce and friendliness went way down.
The parking is a joke. Â I don't understand how the city allowed so many businesses with so little parking.
First good: Great location in Rockrimmon. Very clean inside and nice Haloween decorations. Our server seemed to be the door man. Great service. Friendly and promt. We were a party of four and were half the patrons in the place. Seemed odd for 10:00 on a Saturday night. Now I know why!
The bad: When you walk in its smells really bad. I found out its because the ventalation for the sewer is not working properly. We were celebrating a friend getting a new job so I decided to buy a round of Patron Tequila shots. We recived them and they were huge! We were all like, WOW! Then we tasted them. Why do some bartenders chill tequila?!?! They were watered down and not good. Tequila should be served room temp unless asked to be chilled which I didn't. Then comes the bill. $7.25 for each shot of Patron!? I asked the manager if this was correct. He rudely said, "Well thats what Old Chicago charges". What kind if answer is that?
He turns around and drinks his beer at the bar. Â Way over priced for a neighbor hood bar! Horrible service from the manager and we won't be back. Obviously this is why there were only about eight people there on a Saturday night.
Wyatt's is exactly what this neighborhood needed! A fun, versatile local hangout where the beer is cheap and the food is delicious. You can go there for lunch, happy hour, dinner with the family or even just a nightcap. It's small but intimate and the staff is very personable. It's a nice, fresh alternative to the sometimes questionable clientele and overpriced beer at Cleats.
A month or so ago we stopped at Wyatt's after going to a wedding - we had enjoyed the open bar a little too much (except of course our driver) and were in desperate need of a midnight snack to offset our impending hangovers. With McDonald's closed and Taco Express miles away, we thought we were doomed... until alas, the inviting doors of Wyatt's shined their light and welcomed us with open arms. We were the only people in there, and even though the kitchen was technically closed, they opened it back up and came to our rescue with Back East Bread and onion rings for the win. They easily could have told us they weren't taking food orders any more, but they went above and beyond to serve us and for that I am forever grateful and loyal.
Since then, I've been back several times - most recently on a Sunday and they were doing a "Sunday Funday" special which was a blast and I definitely plan to go back.
But what I really like about it is its versatility - whether you're in your 20s, your 50s or you have a family with little kids, Wyatt's is for everyone.
Ambiance: This place has transitioned from BBQ to Pizza to now a Sports Pub in just the past few years. The place is still nicely appointed. Same bar as before -- about eight stools. There are roughly 20 tables throughout the place, many pub height. Four or five big screen TVs show various sports games. Place is kinda mellow, not very rowdy, which is a nice change. Has a "yuppie" vibe more than a blue-collar bar feeling.
Service: The personnel are professional and polite, though nothing out of the ordinary. I thought the wait time for my burger and then trying to get my check was longer than it should have been. I ate at the bar, and when I told the bartender I was ready for my bill, he said "no problem", and then took the next five minutes to clean the bar and do some stocking before he got back to giving me my check.
Food: First off, I am not a beer drinker, but I hear they have several specialty brews if that is of interest to you. The menu is pub fare (sandwiches, burgers, pizza, salads and fried appetizers), though some of their selections show some creativity (more so than your standard bar that serves food). I ordered their Colorado Burger. First the good. It was covered in an absolutely delicious spicy queso concoction that I completely fell in love with. It was served with grilled onions on a very delicious pretzel roll. Now the not so good -- I didn't like the actual meat. I ordered it medium, and it came out super well-done. The burger lacked any flavor, and was tough. Sorta strange to have a not-so-good burger with out-of-this-world condiments and a real good bun. It was served with a very large cut of waffle fries, that had a very good potato flavor - I liked em!
Overall, this place reminds me of the Facts of Life tune --"You take the good, you take the bad ....." you know the rest. Giving it three stars.
Great food, location and staff! Nice to have somewhere in Rockrimmon to relax and have a few drinks. They have two happy hours so everyone can get a good deal. The food is great pub fare, the sliders are my favorite but the 505 burger is amazing as well. Great little neighborhood joint!
