Well, well, well.... typically, I am a HUGE sushi fan; however, the party I was with decided to order the traditional Yakitori Japanese BBQ this time around. I have to say, it was DELICIOUS!

The lamb chop was my favorite, and the beef short rib and chicken liver came in at a close second and third. All of the yakitori was tasty, and we will definitely return to order it again.

On the other hand, the main dish I ordered was nothing to boast about....

That being said, I would love to go back to try the sushi as I've heard great things.

Overall- good food, nice place, good service.

The sushi was fantastic!!!  The fried rice was pretty straight forward.  The service staff was very friendly and patient while we decided on our order.  I would definitely recommend this place!!!

Great service! Love their food. I definitely recommend any of their barbecue items and soups. The happy hour has a great selection. And the new hours are great for night people. Open until 1:30 am. Couldn't be any happier. Definitely coming more often.

This is probably my favorite sushi place in all of Palm Beach county.  I would say that their sushi is very high quality.  The spicy toro roll is their specialty in my opinion.  Went here for Valentine's Day with my girlfriend and the sushi chef crafted our 3 rolls into special heart shapes per request.  Make sure to tip out the sushi chef if you ask for something like that.  I would rate the prices as fair... given the high quality.  The reason I say that is I see several other places in the area charging the exact same prices as Yakitori...but they do not come close to the quality of their red tuna, white tuna, and toro.

1st time at this sushi bar thnx to yelp. My bf & I started off w the miso soup. Then came the Philadelphia dish. Its ok since it tasted like a roll that we've tried before at a different restaurant. But I must say, WOW how delicious was the Ultimate Seabass! I definitely recommend trying this dish.

Just had dinner here last night and we had a nice experience. I work at a sushi restaurant so I'm not a California Roll type of person.

We ordered the short rib and beef/scallion yakitore as appetizers. They came out perfect and tasted great. As our entrees, we did 2 rolls: The Red Hot and the Hamachi Jalapeño Rolls. The portions were just right. The spicy-ness of the rolls were also on point!

By time our dinner was over, we were absolutely stuffed! I have to add that I also ordered the Saketini, which was sweet with a good kick to it. All in all, our experience at Yakitore was great! I'll definitely be coming back...maybe even for Happy Hour!

This place is horrible. The sushi sucks, the service is even worse. I have still been waiting for a check that i requested 15 minutes ago. The manager is rude and wanted to charge me for a disgusting spicy tuna roll that i sent back. They messed up our order twice. AND CHARGED US for everything! The only reason i put one star is because i got stellar parking in front..as i am writing this i am still waiting for a check . Save urself from this gross place that is staffed with brain dead people and go somewhere else.

Ps still waiting for my check

Some of the best sushi I have had in a while. We ordered 3 rolls and they were all amazing and fresh. The seaweed salad was enough to share and everything came out quickly. They were very attentive (sometimes overly attentive, but I didn't mind) and filled up our water as soon as they got a little low. We ate outside and the hostess gave a seat under the fan so we stayed cool. Wonderful experience overall, will definitely return.

I went here with a friend and she ordered everything so I didn't really have a choice to order anything... BUT all of the things she ordered like the angel hair w/ uni was actually really GOOD! I haven't tried good angel hair w/ uni since I was in the West coast, and you can't beat the West Coast when it comes to Uni, The sushi and the rolls are ok for the price but nothing to extraordinary. The best thing about this place has to be the Angel Hair w/ Uni, Also the service was kind of bad, They filled up my green tea twice of the 2 hours I was there...  They kept passing me and seeing my cup was empty but didn't help me refill it. In the end I had to ask her for more before she actually helped me refill it.

Known as Boca Raton's first Izakaya Japanese lounge, I was very excited to go and check out Yakitori Sake House. The have both outdoor and indoor seating, but I decided since the sun was still out, I would dine indoor. The decor stayed true to the Izakaya concept, which I really liked. Although the furniture was very simple, the colored walls and neon lighting set the scene.

I was greeted and seated by a hostess immediately, but after that it took a ridiculously long time before a waitress even came to the table to place the drink order. Unfortunately, I still was not ready to order, so it was another long wait to place the order for the food. After that however, the food came out considerably quick. The waitress was pleasant but not very friendly or helpful.

There were many menu options, but since they included Yakitori in their name, that was my only option for the night. I ordered the alligator, beef, salmon and shrimp skewers. My favorite was the beef with scallions. The beef was tender and had very good flavor. Delish! I also enjoyed the alligator, although it was a bit greasy. The shrimp was good too, but I could have done without the salmon. The Volcano Fried Rice was pretty typical. It was better than the greasy takeout you received from most South Florida restaurants, but it was a bit too mushy for me. Overall, the food was good but was pretty forgettable.

My experience at Yakitori Sake House wasn't the worse but the place had the potential to be so much greater, so I was a bit disappointed.

Got this deal on Living Social so we thought we'd give it a try.  The place has a great location next to Mizner...

The first thing I have to say is I don't care for their seating arrangement.  The hostess sat us to the left when you walk in the door and we were seated RIGHT next to a family of 3.  We could have shared soy sauce we were so close together.  The service was terribly slow and it took forever to order appetizers.  It wasn't even busy!

For our appetizers we tried the spring rolls and the lobster and shrimp wontons.  The spring rolls were nice and crispy on the outside and disgustingly mushy on the inside, ya know what they tasted like?  The frozen spring rolls you get in the super market freezer section to make at home.  They never come out right.  The lobster and shrimp wontons....it was all shrimp, not a piece of lobster to be found.

My friend ordered the Angry Dragon roll (I think that's what it was called) and I ordered the Pad Thai.  Our orders took a year and a day to arrive and when she bent over to listen to me ask for sriracha she knocked over my water and gave my feet a bath.  Yes, innocent mistake...but had to mention anyways.  The Pad Thai tasted really good and my friend loved her sushi roll.

Constantly asking for water refills really makes me angry, especially when the empty glass is on the table and servers walked by it several times.  Maybe she was afraid of spilling it again, who knows.

All in all, the food was great...the location was great...but the service was totally lacking.

I went here tonight with 3 other people.  We sat down pretty fast but it took about 20 minutes before a waitress came over.  She took our drink order and 2 of the 4 glasses she brought back were noticeably dirty with things floating in the glass.  We sent those back and 1 of the new glasses had more black pieces floating in it.  Everyone else just decided to not look at their drinks in fear of being disgusted.  The food took a long time to arrive and we never really saw out waitress again.  The sushi was average at best.  We paid our check and left.  I would definitely never go back here.  If I place cant do something as simple as use clean water glasses then imagine how gross the rest of the kitchen is.  I am glad I did not order any raw sushi since I would probably be feeling pretty sick tonight.  If you are in the mood for sushi please do yourself a favor and try one of the many other sushi places around.

OK - I've stayed away for a month and returned to use my soon-to-expire Groupon.  I did not drink anything, neither wine, beer, or sake.  My head was clear. Ordered sashimi platter, and it was less than subpar. Just not high quality and presentation boring. And $26?  You got to be kidding!  Partner ordered broiled salmon and knew to ask for sauce on side and only had steamed broccoli. It was ok, nothing more. While the background music had a good vibe and the lighting was interesting (first time eating indoors). Bottled water was $9, which is definitely THE MOST EXPENSIVE IN BOCA.  Last time I go there.  Many more sushi restaurants in East Boca, this one may not survive another year...

Great sushi place. One of the best around. The restaurant is clean and has a nice design and feel to it. The menu is large for a sushi place with 2 pages of sake choices along with a number of special rolls. Had the dim sum and king crab roll. Came out perfect. Wait staff is attentive and pleasant. Definitely will return

Not cheap, but sushi never is.  Great sushi.   We had the lobster bomb and rainbow roll.  Also had the salad with ginger dressing.  Very good, but small.  BBQ was not great.  The chicken was really fatty.  Okra portion was very good but small.  Fried banana dessert was yum! Dog friendly patio...very nice.  Service was ok, not great, not bad at all.  The sushi is the stand out.

Groupon Fraud Alert!  Went there today with groupon which we confirmed with waitress  that it can be used for the meal. Ordered meal and presented with bill. Show groupon to waitress, she comes back within a few minutes and says we cannot use the groupon even though she said prior to ordering that we could. And if we refuse to pay that the police would be called.  If a place has to pull a scam just to get business, they have a lot to lose. Now I have to wait to see if I get a refund from groupon.

service was good, although a bit slow for only having 4 people in the restaurant. I found the food to be average, however, considering the quantity of "faux" seafood being used in the rolls such as "imitation crab. imitation lobster" it was way over priced. not very creative overall with the flavor pairings and seemed to stick pretty much to the basics such as lots of tempura and spicy tuna with too much sesame oil in the majority of their rolls. Honestly, i had a better meal at "Yokohama" with a much larger cost savings to boot. Just not worth the price in my opinion.

    3 1/2 stars, actually.

Tonight I was on a quest to possibly crown a new champion in my "favorite sushi restaurant" category. But it was not to be! The champion remains undefeated! (sorry, but it is in bad taste to mention them in this review, so you will have to check out my reviews and find it).

Yakitori was not bad at all, but fell short of expectations. We ordered 6 items in total, plus tempura bananas to finish off on a sweet note (they were good). In keeping with my strategy of dining at popular restaurants on weekdays, we came in on a Monday night. Our server was very pleasant, and all of our items came out very quickly. We ordered a couple of things at a time, and the pace was great.

Listening to the advice of my fellow Yelpers, we ordered the Osaka Tuna and the Sea Bass Yakitori. The tuna was good. The sea bass was awesome, and the winner of the night! The sweetheart roll is a must have if you are on a romantic date. The flavor of the dish was just OK, but the presentation is really nice. Yes, heart shaped sushi, and no, it's not corny! In fact, any guys reading this should order it without their significant other knowing, and have it show up at the table as a surprise. (score some points!)

Rounding out our order were the Red Dragon roll, which was OK. The ooh la la tuna, which was the weakest dish, because of how bland and boring it was, and the Volcano fried rice. Presentation was really cool, wrapped in tin foil, and the top brought out flaming. Again, not a bad dish.

My friends and I both bought Groupon to try this sake house since the reviews were good.  It was one of my friend's going away party so we were really excited to be there.  The food was alright, not bad but not memorable either.  The best part was their lychee sake, small but yummy! :))

I was a little disappointed the manager would not allow us to us both of our Groupons.  Our bill for 3 people were over a hundred bucks! (with the one discount voucher included).  I don't think I would go there without the Groupon.  Typical Boca attitude from the restaurant's management.  Polite but cold.

This restaurant has a large menu with tons of variety.

I will save you some time and focus on what I feel are the best dishes.

The Cajun Lobster Roll ($17) was outstanding as it was fresh cooked New England lobster on sushi rolls. This is actually better than the Lobster bomb that is tempura fried. I really loved this dish and highly recommend it to everyone.

The Little Tuna Tower roll ($12) was also extremely good and large.

I also tried the tofu ($3), scallops ($4) and beef ($5) appetizers from the BBQ appetizer menu, but these were pretty average and I really can't recommend any of these when the sushi dishes are far superior. The shrimp and scallop dumpling ($7) was fresh and tasty and was, by far, the best appetizer I had.

For drinks, I ordered the hot sake large ($9) and it was typical of most other restaurants. They had a large menu of cold sake options (considered to be superior to hot sake) that were pricy and because I am not an expert, chickened out and stuck with the hot sake. I wish they offered a flight sample of 3 or so cold sake so I could learn the differences.

All in all, this place is very good and I will be back. The menu is huge, so there are tons of other offerings.

I personally think this place is best for sushi and I would probably focus on those offerings rather than the other options.

I was really excited to try this place and was met with a somewhat disappointing meal.  This spot is located a bit far back in the Royal Palms plaza so it's not visible from Federal but more so if you turn on to Mizner Blvd(?) from Federal which takes on a little back road.  I think it's near Table 42 and the Wishing Well, I could be wrong, better mapquest it.  In any case, parking is kind of limited.

So we came in and were greeted by the host and sat immediately.  The menu in itself is quite extensive and almost a bit overwhelming.  So many choices, where to start?!  There were items I have seen time and time again, I worked in a few sushi bars in my hey day.  So we opted for a lychee sake and kirin to start.  A bit pricey I must admit; 10 dollars for maybe a 1/2 cup of flavored cold sake.

For food we started with beef yukke, some yakitori, & blue crab tartar.  The beef yukke was the definite stand out.  It was prepared with a quail egg and the texture was not choppy but more like a dice, almost minced?  That didn't bother me too much and I liked the balance of spices.  The yakitori was nice too.  We ordered sea bass, okra, shitake mushrooms, squid, and alligator I think.  Same marinade on all the choices, but nothing crazy memorable.  The blue crab tartar was a toss up.  The first few bites were interesting but then it began to take a "I think it tastes like a spread I would buy from Publix" situation.

For our main meal with chose 1 roll and a surprise roll choice from the server.  I don't remember the names, I am so sorry.  The first roll we had was ehh.  I am not crazy about ell sauce and it was a touch too sweet for me but my company seemed to like it.  Then came out the surprise roll, which was a souped up spicy tuna roll.  The tuna was all sorts of minced inside the roll with jalapenos and crunchy flakes.  While it wasn't awful, what really made me sad was the sushi rice.  Maybe someone partied too hard last night and put just a little bit too much water in the cooker.  I have had awesome rice and this was downright shameful.  The rice on the sushi was so soggy and mushy that chewing the roll bite was just texturally wrong.  Yes, food ends up as mush eventually as you chew it. but if you have ever had good sushi rice, you know what I am talking about.

We were so stuffed by the end of it all.  The server knew we were ITB and we chatted a little bit about places to eat and she was a sweetheart but I never got her name.  She was on point with everything and my only gripe was that she brought us dessert and we didn't ask for it.  We vocally confirmed we were really full and weren't going to order anything else.  Next thing you know, PLOP fried ice cream on her.  Such a nice gesture on her part, but did she not hear it when I said that I was really REALLY full.  We poked and prodded and had a bite each but could barely enjoy the complimentary dessert.  I would have rather had an ITB discount and tip her more on that versus her kind gesture.  I really wanted to tip her more that night but couldn't bring myself to it.

The manager sulked around the place and asked us how everything was once but then went back to sulking.  All in all, the bill with tip came out to be shy of 100 for the both of us. Eek!  We were really hungry but I have had meals that cost half the price and were just as delicious if anything better.  I say give Yakitori Sake House a shot, just because.  It's good but it may hurt your wallet a smidge.

Strictly to the point: Yakitori Sake House (YSH) is a fantastic establishment...if your budget allows. Although I can elaborate on a narrative about how I found this place and how many times I've gone since, it's 3am and I just want to get down to business. My guest and I grabbed a Sapporo and a free small sake, and the ordering began. We ordered quite a bit of food, so here's a breakdown of items.

-Miso Soup: Actually pretty good. I know, I know, there's only so much you can do WRONG with miso soup. But YSH is one of the few places I've been to locally that has miso soup prepared with straw mushrooms.

-Osaka Tuna: As other reviewers have noted, this dish is quite the appetizer. Prepared by wrapping the tuna in seaweed and then flash frying it, the finished product resembles a tempura crusted, thicker cut version of tuna tataki. Alone, the dish is good, but the sauce on the side is what makes it great. The presentation was fantastic (although maybe a little corny for some tastes).

-Yakitori: My guest and I split some yakitori skewers, ultimately deciding on salmon, shitake mushrooms, okra, beef and scallions, and sea bass. I was a little disappointed with the flavors in the salmon and beef skewers (perhaps high standards because it is their namesake), and the shitake mushrooms and okra were decent. But jeez, that sea bass was prepared fantastically. It was seasoned slightly and the perfect texture, even though the sea bass was just a small percentage of the meal, it was in the running for the best thing I ate that night (which is no small feat).

-Little Tuna Tower Roll: The roll is pretty straightforward, a tempura tuna roll with each piece stacked with some spicy tuna. Although it didn't blow me away (the sea bass was a tough act to follow), the spicy tuna was one of the better spicy tunas I've had in quite a while. My next trip to YHS, I'll definitely be debating whether to get this or perhaps something with more spicy tuna.

-Red Mango Roll: Good flavors and decent presentation, this roll teeters on either my second or third favorite item of the night. Being a sucker for sweet and spicy items, this roll really suited my tastes. However, I found myself yearning for some more mango. The flavor from the slices of mango and even the mango sauce sometimes got masked by everything going on with role (kimchee sauce and king crab were the biggest culprits). Still an excellent roll choice and still highly recommended.

Overall, the food was definitely one of the better East Boca Japanese establishments. The service was very nice, although our waitress seemed to have been really and excessively preoccupied towards the end, even though there were collectively around two other tables (I waited for about 15 minutes with my check). Speaking of the check, I know I splurged just a little bit (I can't leave you guys with a review of one or two dishes!) but the bill including tip came to approximately $90. Keep in mind the two drinks, so it wasn't too bad but nonetheless, significantly more expensive than the OTHER Japanese restaurant down the street. Ultimately, at least for this reviewer, it was a great night full of great food. Five stars in all accords.

Okay let me first start with i lived over on the west coast for a year and a half and experienced the best sushi I've possibly had. With that being said, Yakitori is my #1 spot in Boca for sushi or Yakitori for that matter.

I've been here Countless of times since my last post, being open till 2am has saved me so many nights after a late gym session. Although i now hear they close at 1 now.

Anyway onto the food. Aside from 1 time out of 5+ times Ive ordered a lobster bomb, i was amazed. I made a complaint when i received one that i had felt was sub-par for what i normally received. It's an amazing dish

Next the Kobe Youkke(sp?), I'm not a fan of tartar dishes but i loved this dish, and i could enjoy it as a entree. I think its a special so ask if they have it. nice spice gives it an amazing flavor, and the meat is sooo tender.

The Kobe Skirt Steak is also a big favorite, Its on par or even better than my previous favorite which is almost an identical dish at Japango's

Every single time I'm a gluten to order some Tempura Shrimp and Spicy Mayo, reminds of me this spot i got something very similar from called Kawami in LA. My favorite sushi spot ever.

Spicy tuna rolls are amazing, the Alligator Yakitori and Pork Belly are a nice treat, they carry O toro which is pretty nice to try if you haven't.

My only problems are they have Blue-Fin Tuna and Blue-fin Toro on there menu in the Ala cart area, but they never carry it. And those are 2 types of sushi i love. such a tease :(

Great Lunch Deals so i hear.

4 stars for this spot VERY solid 4 stars.

If I could...I'd give 10 stars. So freaken good. Service was excellent! Friendly people + excellent fresh tasting food = best food ever. I'm such a happy camper. :) wish I could live here.  I ate an overload of food.  I mean, I normally eat a lot and have no room for dessert but this time I squeeze that in too!  :) So freaken good.  We had vegetarian rolls for my Veg parents.  Some stir fry udon noodles, tofu steaks with mushrooms that my mom raved was the best tofu ever.  And they eat a lot of tofu.  My mom wanted the recipe for everything.  hahaha She's one hard to please eater too.  We had two rolls, edamame that was steamed instead of boiled.  Also the hand rolled spicy tuna was excellent.  Had a 5 items from their yakitori menu that I loved. The soy sauce they have was so unique.  It tasted like homemade versus the usual you taste in restaurants.  Also the yellow tail was so good.  I had the parfait for dessert.  So good.  crunchy bits of corn flakes really adds something to the ice cream.  YUM!  Plus I had a nice conversation with a few of the ladies working there.

LOVE YOU Yakitori Sake House!  We will have to hit you up again next time we're in town.

Pink Lady roll is the bomb. The owner and staff are really nice. The pricing is pretty decent too, and it is close to everything. I really like it here and since I moved across from Mizner only about 3 weeks ago, I have been there 3 times! That's how good it is. It's way better than Lemon Grass across the street, and more bang for your buck. When they have a full bar it'll be even more excellent.

    Highly recommend it to anyone.

Great bento boxes.  Especially since they offer it on Saturdays too.  I really like the fact that their miso soup has enoki mushrooms.  It just shows that they put a little extra effort into their soup.  Even the salad with ginger dressing was better than most,  The dressing was really good and it didn't separate into solids and liquids like other restaurants.  I'm glad to have found a place where they sell yakitori even though they are a bit over priced.  The sushi and sashimi were good.  I can't say that they are better than most places but comparable and fresh.  I wish they gave you a little white rice with the bento boxes where you have the Thai red curry or the Thai basil chicken.  We had to order a bowl of white rice for $2!  the little bottle of Coke was $3 each and they can really add up.

This place is awesome. Boca really didn't have any decent sushi, until now. The closest thing before was Morimoto at the Boca Restort, but in my opinion Yakitori is far better. The fish is so fresh it melts in your mouth and the Yakitori (Japanese BBQ) is outstanding! The Yakitori menu has many options and they are all priced between $2-$4. It's like Japanese tapas. I love the fact that I can get sushi and also have some BBQ seabass or scallop to pair with it. It also helps that they obviously put a lot of thought and effort into the restaurant decor, and it shows. This is not another "generic sushi" spot.  Yakitori is the best find ive had in a while. Highly, highly recommend!
