I ate there for lunch and was quite impressed. I am picky about sushi and usually avoid sushi restaurants in small towns because I doubt the fresh fish availability. However, two of us went there and had a great experience. The rolls we ordered were delicious, but I am not a fan of fried rolls and they have a lot of that. The sashimi was great, and we both received complimentary miso soups- which is always nice. The thing that I cannot speak highly enough about is the white tuna they served. I have a habit of judging sushi restaurants by their white tuna... and Yamato's was superb! I recommend it for their white tuna and the fact that it is probably the only sushi you can find for miles!
Review Source:For little Jasper, this place has some really good sushi! And real sushi, not just the common popular rolls like California.
Myself and another person split three different specialty rolls (cannot recall the names off the top of my head, though one might have been "the American Dream roll.") Honestly, some of the best sushi I have had in awhile. Especially for what it was.
Salad wasn't what I was expecting compared to similar styles of restaurants, but still good. We did not try any of the other dishes offered so I cannot comment much on that.
Service wasn't amazing, but definitely not awful. Felt no pressure or anything awkward like that. Good sushi, decent atmosphere. Check it out!
