A negative experience. Ok, let's not mince words. The locals are unlikely to know the difference. There is a strain of Mexican restaurants that uses platter heat to cook food. This is one of them. It's for los touristos.

If you're vegetarian or vegan, make SURE to ask if your selected dish has meat in it, even if you've NEVER seen meat in it before. This is a big meat eating area, and even things like chile rellenos has meat in it. The dish served as chile rellenos bears no resemblance to any other dish I've ever seen by this name; it was *strange*. Simple cheese enchiladas are folded quesadillas with cheese inside, covered in  'valentino-like' sauce.

If you were expecting standard Mex, this is very highly Americanized, so don't be surprised. Know that when they're busy, their kitchen can't seem to handle the load, so stuff comes when it comes, and in a kind of random order. Many people will not know the difference. Perhaps there is better in the area. I'll find out.
