One look at the dessert board, positioned conveniently at eye level as soon as you enter through the front door, and I was sold. Among the choices were malted chocolate caramel pie, peppermint cheesecake, apple dumplings and bread pudding.

Because I anticipated a large dessert, I chose a Greek salad for lunch. It was fresh and well put together. No bagged salads and pre-prepared meals here. (I also considered the day's special: sausage and 'kraut.)

For dessert, I ordered the hot apple dumpling. It was the best apple dumpling I've ever eaten: soft and warm with pockets of oozing cinnamon tucked into the corners of the pastry. I also sampled my co-diners' bread pudding. It, too, was delicious with a unique whiskey sauce poured over top. It was equally delicious, and I previously was not a fan of bread pudding.

In addition to the great food, the place is connected to a cute little kitchen-type gift shop with many fun teas and coffees and cooking supplies from which to choose.
