Second time visiting this location and the employees are always nice and there when you need them.
I ordered the Enchilada stack, from other Yelpers' recommendations, and it was delicious! Both the red and green tamatillo sauces were amazing! The only gripe would be the quality of the Chicken..tasted a little like frozen cooked chicken and was a bit dry, luckily there wasn't too much in there to over power the dish.
Their skinny fries were good, nice presentation, and my friend liked the garden burger a lot too.
Service:
Surprised by the negative reviews about the service. My fiance and I have been coming here for a few years now and we always have great service. Not only is the wait staff polite and helpful when we have questions about the menu, but the manager always comes and asks how we are doing. Also, I appreciate that they don't try to stick my fiance and I at the smallest tables just because there's only two of us.
Food and drinks:
The food and drinks are also really good, but I agree that it is a bit pricey. The Mac and Cheese is awesome and I'm addicted to their french fries. I also really love the grilled cheese and tomato soup - good comfort food in the winter. Like I said, their drinks are pricey but they're strong so you get your moneys worth - the Brazilian lemonade is my favorite.
Happy hour is definitely the best time to go for the half off appetizers and discounted drinks. This place gets packed so if you hate to wait it's best to go for lunch.
Kinda slow for a Saturday nite
Overpriced & underwhelming food
With small entrée portion sizes
Heard Happy Hour is better
Service is okay at times
ONION RING TOWER ($8.75): 1 star
- overpriced hype
- overrated disappointment
- nice sauces
LOBSTER CRAB & ARTICHOKE DIP ($12.45): 1 star
- sounds good, but okay
- crunchy chips, but pita okay
GRILLED HOT PASTRAMI ($10.85):3 stars
- pricey in comparison to The Hat or Coles
- pastrami & fries are good, but not great
- nice portion at a decent value
PASTA JAMBALAYA ($17.65): 2 stars
- flavor okay and extremely pricey
- way smaller portion than BJ's, Cheesecake, etc
It was a hot  weekend when we went in there. The place was crowded so we chose to sit at the outside patio. The patio seating wasn't as hot as I would have thought. It was shaded appropriately with cooling fans on the ceiling. But I wouldn't sit outdoor during the SUMMER. The wait staff was very attentive. They never forgot our requests for refills or extra napkins. The food taste was rather ordinary, not amazing. The Mahi fish was overcooked a little bit.  But overall, this place is clean , relaxing and kids-friendly, too.
Review Source:They were slammed on a Friday night and we still got a table in 15 minutes. Â That was awesome. Â I was very happy for that. Â The service was pretty good and the appetizers are phenomenal. Â They have some very interesting mixed drinks that are either for you or not, can't say they are awesome, I liked the ones we tried but can see why others may not. Â Definitely original which is nice. Â It does get loud which kind of goes with the crowd. Â That's the only real downside I can think of.
Review Source:I went into YardHouse for the second time, and I decided to write a review. The first time I went there was in the beginning of the year. I strolled in very late (towards closing time), ordered the fish and chips, and took it to-go. I really did enjoy the fish and chips that time, which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.
The second time I went there was a sit-down dinner. I ordered a Jambalaya (with angel hair pasta just for kicks) and my friend ordered an enchilada. When our food came, my Jambalaya was cold on some parts and my friend's enchilada was almost all cold. The food taste in itself was horrid. I probably could have made a better jambalaya using a boxed recipe. The enchilada was honestly so awful! They shaped it into a circle and drowned it in a regular sauce.
All in all, the terrible food as well as the loud, noisy atmosphere just did not sit well with us and we regretting coming to this place. Maybe some other Yard House would be better, but as for the one here, I don't think I'll be going again.
Not bad for happy hour although more pricey in drinks and food compared to other local chains. Food on saltier side.
Kids menu awesome with custom coolers n choice of dessert. It's really a lot of food for 6.95.
Drinks are strong and for happy hour u get all the selections versus other places that are limited. It's 2.00 off specialty so expect 7.00+ per drink which is not really cheap but it will give u a buzz. For strong  drinkers 3 will probably tip you over. If u are into rum there are slot if excellent selections and beer omg I don't even know how to begin.
Ambience loud fun relaxed. Kids will lv n family will b fine as well as daters and friends. Great place for catching up. Music loud So u can always sit on patio.
Came here tonight for the first time with the family. Â My son got a free meal with his honor roll certificate today and thought we take advantage tonight. Â Was NOT disappointed! Â Our waitress, Meghan, was wonderful! Â She was friendly and helpful through our whole meal. Â We wanted to try out the Happy Hour and got there just in time before 6pm and had great food. Â Meghan said we order alot of food but we thought we can finish since the portion shouldn't be too much. Â Were we wrong!! Â The portions were great and so was the price! Â This is what we ordered.
1. Chicken Garlic Noodle was delicious and I love the edamame beans and asparagus. Â The portion was perfect for one person and only $5.17 during Happy Hour!!
2. California Roll was good too and only $5.97 during HH.
3. Chicken Nachos Grande for $5.62. Â The portion was HUGE! Â It was a little too dry for me though so might not order it next time.
4. Seared Ahi Sashimi for $6.62 during HH. Â LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Â
5. Buffalo Wings for $5.42. Â Was spicy for the kids but taste great for me!
6. Calamari for $5.42. Â Was not what I expected so might not order it next time.
7. Onion Ring for $4.37. Â Was so so for my taste so might skip it next time too.
8. Heineken for $4.50 for the hubby. Â He was HAPPY!
Overall, we would be returning especially during Happy Hour from now on and hopefully get Meghan again as our waitress!
I've always liked the Yard House, they have an AMAZING tap beer selection.  I've been to a Yard House in Boston that Innis and Gunn on tap for a limited time.  Don't know what it is? Well, you're missing out! ;) But, that just shows you the beer selection and by all means I'm not a beer snob, but I do like a good beer. I usually order one of the  fruity beers or a cider.  Though I do go for the occasional ale.
They have a large food selection from flatbreads, pasta, soups, sandwiches to a few asian rice dishes. I've had the macaroni and cheese, the chicken parmesan, onion rings, nachos, spinach and artichoke dip -- all good. Â The portions are large so be weary.
All in all, I like the Yard House, solid good spot especially with good company. Â Can't complain about service since I've never had a bad experience.
This is my 7th restaurant in my quest for the best New England Clam Chowder.
Actually came here not looking for clam chowder, I was out with friends for dinner. Â The Yardhouse is famous for having a massive about of beers to choose from and I love the look of what was on the menu... as well as the look of the waitress here at this Chino Hills location (all delicious).
I had their "PEAR & GORGONZOLA FLATBREAD" that was made with caramelized onions, leeks & balsamic syrup. Â It was crunchy, tasty, not bad... I give it "B -"
I also had the ANGEL HAIR PASTA that came with roma tomatoes, roasted eggplant, garlic, basil, pine nuts, feta, parmesan and olive oil.  This was flavorful... good tasting... but not over the moon, but good...I give it a  "B -"
But the star of the show was their CLAM CHOWDER New England style with chopped clams and potatoes. Â I have now found THE VERY B E S T in my quest and 7th attempt so far, for clam chowder!!! Â It was made real well, lots of clams and potatoes, a nice think chowder but best of all was the wonderful clammy flavor throughout the delicious chowder is what made this mother fucker great.
The Clam Chowder get a solid "A"!!! Â
So if you're keeping score, out of seven restaurants for clam chowder that I've been to - Â The Yardhouse is #1 and Kings Fish House is #2
Alright, so over the past couple years, I've probably been to this exact Yard House about a hundred times or so and as far as I remember, every time it's during happy hour. For those unfamiliar with Yard House's happy hour, you can get most appetizers and pizzas half off, craft beers for around $5-$6, and well drinks for $5. I'm sure I'm missing some stuff, but that's pretty much everything I get during happy hour.
Food (or at least the appetizers) is pretty much what you get from every Yard House. It's always consistent and while it's not amazing or anything, it does hit the spot especially late at night or I guess during the day if you do the 3-6pm happy hour. For those who want to try something unique, get the chicken nachos, replace the nachos with fries and ask for buffalo sauce on top. TRUST ME. You have to try it at least once.
Drinks is what I generally come here for. Recently they've been doing rotating drafts on craft beers which is pretty cool and they rotate frequently so even a regular like me can always get a different beer every time I visit. Huge plus since next to no restaurants/bars around the area seems to carry craft beers.
Overall a cool place to hang out late at night in Chino/Chino Hills. If you go, be sure to ask to be put in Seth's section. Awesome waiter. Also, all the bartenders are cool as well. Shoutout to Jaclyn, Joe, Scott, Mindy, and Stephanie.
Oh, and avoid going on Friday and Saturday for late night happy hours as it tends to get waaaay too crowded here. You've been warned.
Been to Yard House happy hour at most locations in LA/OC. Service here is pretty good compared to others I've been to. Food is your standard bar fare, sliders are my favorite during HH.
Unfortunately for this location, the beer selection is fairly limited. If you really want to see all the beers YH has to offer, go to victoria gardens. Otherwise this is a chill place in Chino Hills to drink at.
Food and drinks are always great here, but I can travel to different Yard House with the same food and MUCH BETTER SERVICE. The only reason this place gets ONE star is for the food and awesome happy hour, as well as one redeeming server- Joe. Amazing guy. When he was my server, that was the one time I enjoyed this location- helpful and hilarious.
Other than him, every single time I've come here, the service has been, to put it bluntly, complete shit. Sorry. One of the first times I came to this location was with a group of about 10 of my coworkers. The service was slow, but we dealt with it seeing as how we had a large group.
However, when it came time to pay, the server told us we shorted him. We recounted, three, four times, and saw that we didn't short him, but a few friends added more money anyway- apparently he couldn't see that the tips were being given to him as cash or something?? I don't know. Either way.. this guy had the nerve to chase us out of the restaurant even after we added about $30 to the bill, and yell, "YOU GUYS ARE STILL SHORT BUT WHAT THE FUCK EVER."
Really? Â My friends yelled back at him to learn customer service as he pushed the door shut behind him. K.
I grudglingly came back here a few times later, only to be met with slow service. But another time has to be mentioned as well. Our server (I'll spare his name) completely ignored me and my friends (a party of only 8) throughout the whole night even though we only ordered DRINKS and the restaurant was almost empty!
Since this guy took LITERALLY 20 minutes to take our drink orders and another 20 minutes to drop off our drinks (come on, dude, a few beers and simple cocktails shouldn't take longer than a meal), my boyfriend and friend went to the bar to order drinks. This ballsy waiter had the nerve to ask me to "have everyone order from the table" because well, of course, he wanted the tip. I didn't even have a chance to reply; he sped off (Where were you headed to? You obviously weren't working!) We continued to order at the bar, of course, and left annoyed. I haven't gone back since.
Spare yourself this location. There are locations all around that have great service and food. Yo, Yard House managers, if you're reading this, GET NEW SERVERS. Except Joe, he's cool.
Oh my taste buds. If I could eat here everyday I would. I swear I would.
We've frequented the Rancho Yard House a few times but I find that I love this location more than any of them. We've always had phenomenal service, never had to hassle parking and the food and drinks have always been spectacular. Just a warning, if you come here on a Friday or Saturday night, be prepared to wait. Each time we've waited about 30 minutes but it's to be expected. And it's LOUD on those nights as well so don't expect a quiet dinner. But if you come here for lunch, it's totally chill and family friendly.
I think one of the reasons we keep coming back to this location was thanks to an encounter my husband and I had back in February. We came here on a Friday night, were starving and didn't want to wait. So seating was available immediately for the patio so we took it. As soon as we got out meal, a group of people stood on the sidewalk (but literally on the patio) smoking. I don't smoke, I hate smoke and I don't want to taste your smoke in my food. Everyone else on the patio was annoyed but didn't want to say anything so I went inside and informed the hostess that we literally couldn't breathe thanks to these inconsiderate aholes. So she got the manager who promptly went outside and made the group move a reasonable distance so that we could all eat in peace. It's nice to see a place care about their customers enough to do so.
You can't go wrong here.
Busy and very DIM place! I came here and had such a hard time ordering. I was literally straining my eyes to read the menu as close to the fake candles as possible! Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. But the choices for drinks are endless, and the options for food on the Happy Hour menu all sound delicious. Happy Hour starts at 10pm. 18% gratuity for large groups (I came with a party of 8, and we were charged gratuity). I prefer fruity beers so I went with the Honey House Blonde, alcohol content: 4.5%, $4.25 for a glass. My friend chose a dark beer, some type of chocolate. I was happy with mine!
Review Source:Service is less than perfect. Went to drink here with my cousin who I haven't seen for years. Thought this was a good place to just chill and talk. It was around 8-9pm. The waitress seemed mad at me after she sat us down and I told her we just wanted drinks. After that, the service was horrible. Our first drinks took forever to get to us. I ordered a shorty beer; not knowing how small it would be, I extremely politely asked if I can switch with a regular pint (which should be the smallest for all drinking places) and she gave me an unpleasant "ok". Ordering my second beer took even more time than the first. I became frustrated. Maybe this place would be better to get dinner at (seems the waiters are looking for tips)
The atmosphere/patrons there were nice though. I still had a good time with my cousin there.
To start off, I have been to the Yard houses in Irvine, Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside and Long Beach. This one is tiny!!!! My girl and I had the Ahi crunch salad and the Ceaser Salad. We also ordered soups and dessert. Everything was OK at best. I would have gave this place 2 stars but our server, Lisa I think, was phenomenal!! She is a young African American lady. Awesome server! We were not impressed with the food at all but the service was excellent.
Review Source:This is one of my favorite restaurants! I love the look of the place and their food is good. The employees have always been really nice. The last time I went with my boyfriend we ordered some wings that came out cold and our waiter took it off the bill for us without a problem. One piece of advise for anyone that hasn't ordered sushi from here before: It comes as one big sushi roll which I have tried and I like it, but some people don't like it. Just depends on the person.
Review Source:To sum up my experience at THIS location: Â disappointed with service.
I came here with my husband, his coworker and his gf, and my brother in law for dinner and to grab a few drinks. Upon arriving, my husband's coworker put our name on the list and we were told the wait would be about 25 minutes, so we went to the bar to order drinks. Me and the gf ordered cocktails. Not sure what the coworker ordered, but my husband ordered a Jameson and coke for himself and his bro. I was on my phone getting ready to check-in on Yelp when the "manager" interrupted my husband and his coworker during their oh so boring conversation about work and asked my husband if he had been drinking elsewhere. My husband was a little taken aback by the question and admitted that, yes, he had 2 drinks earlier at Dillon's (at least 1.5 hrs had passed since then). The manager asked what he had ordered. My husband told him and asked if there was a problem. The manager responded that there was no problem, but he didn't feel comfortable serving him Jameson and coke and suggested he order one of their beers instead. Let me just be clear that my husband wasn't drunk. My husband asked if he was acting in an inappropriate way. The manager said it was a hard drinking day and they were being strict. Â My husband asked if it was just him that wasn't allowed to order liquor and the manager again told him he could have a beer. Â My husband asked if there was a specific action that he did to single him out. Â And the manager said he didn't have to answer him and suggested we leave. Â Then my cocktail comes out. Â The manager says we wouldn't be responsible for paying for our drinks if we leave. Â Trying not to make a scene, we leave. Â
But each and every one of us was SHOCKED, to the point, we didn't even know how to react when the manager was singling him out. Â If my husband was truly drunk or getting out of hand, I don't think allowing him to even order a beer would have been an option. Â So, I'm not sure what the manager's issue was and why he couldn't clarify what it was that my husband did. Â Probably because he was standing there like a normal person and just conversating? Â Doesn't seem like a solid reason to cut someone off. Â I was looking forward to having some mac and cheese for dinner, too!
Update to a previous review.... The food quality has gone down as much as the music volume. Â I don't know who is running the kitchen these days but they threw puff pastry under the salamander broiler and all we could taste was the gas residue from the flames. Â Had to send our food back and order something else.... Which I NEVER EVER do!!! BIG KUDOS to the wait staff which, has GREATLY improved.... But again, sadly, the food is just 'off'
Review Source:I wasn't even going to write this review
because y'all gonna think I'm a Yard House groupie
this being my 3rd YH review and all.
But eff that because this place is awesome
and they deserve all fo' of them stars up there
I'll get to the really good stuff in a bit
but lets cover the basics.
As Cheapy likes to point out, this place is central as heck.
Easy access from both the 71 and 60 fwys, you can meet
your model chick from DTLA
your tweeker girl from es Riverside
and your real housewife from OC
all in one convenient spot.
The beer is the same as every other YH
Lots of variety, great Blackboard selections
helloooooo Chimay *swoon*
and a decent happy hour
I've only tried the pizza at this location
and I'm tempted to say it was just ok
but since I ate 4 slices
plus all of Cheapies discarded crusts
I think my tummy gives it a solid thumbs up
K, so this is why I really love this YH.
The bartenders are pinche awesome!
omg I love them all so much
I want to squish em and feed em cupcakes
and drink up all of their wonderful beer *twirl*
They're super friendly to everyone
Always have a smile on their face
and give great recommendations
Ok.....sure, last night our glasses
sat empty a little too long
but that could have been because
we was drinking them at super stealth speed
And, yeah, ok, fine
once when we went to the bathroom together
they closed us out and dumped our beers
but it only happened once and I totally forgave them
after they gave us new ones
It's smaller than other YH's
but there's a cute little patio out front
with nice little fire pits
.........for taco making
jk you wish
I say
do it
come here
get shitfaced
have some pizza
and make amigos with the bartenders
Went here on a Tuesday. I was going to go to Buffalo Wild Wings down the street, but the wait was 45 minutes for 2 people so I thought I'd try my luck here. No wait. Super!
If you love beer, this place is definitely worth trying out. It's not the typical Coors and Bud on tap. I felt a sense of bliss looking at their beer menu and found myself ordering an IPA from Deleware. It was awesome! My wife got a cider which was also phenomenal! The food was great.
My rating is based on the service. The chick that served us was on point with checking in with us, but just had a bad attitude. I don't think I saw her smile once. I completely understand we all have bad days, but having worked in customer service my whole life, you gotta leave your issues at the door when you walk into work.
Definitely pricy...
It's an upscale chain brewpub. Safe food, good beer. :)
Gotta get a half-yard of beer, and the selection is ginormous. We had some blueberry beer from Maine, and it was a good interesting.
Shrimp ceviche appetizer was OK - wasn't a big fan of the shrimp being diced very finely...?
Burger was cooked to perfection, and the fancy mushrooms (i forget which) + blue cheese + onions were a great combo. Burger is a bit on the small side for what you pay, but if you present it very well and cook it correctly, then much of the battle has been won.
Portion sizes on the fries are funny.
3.5 stars, but I'll round up for the exceeded expectations on the burger.
Normally I would have given this place 4 stars, but the fact that someone within Yard House; Ms. Carrie C. replies back to unhappy customers, and is that caring and attentive, seriously makes me wish there was a special 10 ten star or an award or something for her. You'd be surprised how many establishements truly could care less. This is a perfect example of why Ra Pour flopped but Yard House is still thriving. Owners take notes!
Anyways, I've been here numerous times, (courtesy of your boyfriend living across the street). The drinks are always good, at first I thought they only served beer but I was happily proven wrong. The food here is really good too. My favorite part is that they have a pretty decent vegetarian menu. A lot of places in the Victoria Gardens do not, so this was yet another pleasant surprise! I ordered the Gardein Chinese Chicken Noodle Salad entree and my boyfriend got I believe a burger and fries. We both had no complaints what so ever. My dish was spectaular and I can't wait to try other things on their menu.
This is a great place for a date night, or a night out drinking with your friends. Always a good time, and their staff are all really friendly. For all of you non-drinkers they make a spectacular lemonade. I know what you're thinking, how hard is it to make lemonade? Well drink theirs then try that instant Country Time mixture and you tell me!
Happy hour 3-6PM, 10PM- close
selected appetizers and pizzas are 50% off. beers and cocktails are also discounted.
their happy hour selections are very limited. there is not much to choose from, but it's great for the price!
we went at 3pm and we didn't have to wait for seats, but i'm not sure if it's the same at night. their food was average, but i'm sure most people come here for their beers.
our server was friendly and attentive.
For the benefit of the doubt, I'm giving YH four stars even though I think it should be 3 1/2. Â I had mixed feelings about the place. Â First was we came here during the Bronco/Raven game and obviously it was packed but YH reserved the entire floor for those who had made reservations. Â Which can be good and bad. Â Good for those who made the reservations. Â Bad both on the restaurant (since you are losing money by having so many empty tables and those who were waiting around for an open booth...)
There were some amazing foods and then some I didn't really care for much. Â I recommend getting the:
- Baby Back Ribs
- Spicy Tuna Roll Â
- Grilled Artichoke
- Seared Ahi Asian Salad
- Truffle Fries
What not to get: Â
- The Peppered Filet
- Ahi Poke Bowl
Lina Chen
I heart Yard House.
This location has a nice layout, friendly and attentive staff, quick service and as always, great food. It is always very loud though...
My favorites are:
Artichoke and spinach dip with fried pita MMMMmmmmmMMMm
Chicken lettuce wrap
Fries (my weakness)
Calamari
I've had other goodies but not good enough to be memorable, I guess. I'd choose Yard House over BJ's, Chili's or TGIF any day. But please do not make me choose between Cheesecake Factory... I love them both!
By the end of the dinner no one in our party of 5 was satisfied with the meal. Â Everyone was still hungry (and two of our party were girls, and we are not big people!)
I ordered the Five Ounce Blackened Tuna Burger. Â The description said it was ahi, so I was expecting seared ahi tuna sashimi, but instead I got what looked like it came out of a can. Â Okay, I can deal with that-- if it tasted good. Â Sadly, even though it was way more expensive, it didn't taste nearly as good as a tuna melt from Farmer Boys. Â It came with a sad salad. Â The dressing was mediocre. Â I was hungry after I was done. Â I was sad that I didn't have the option of fries, adding soup would have cost extra.
One of my friends ordered half an order of the spicy jambalaya. Â It said it comes with jumbo shrimp. Â He got one shrimp. Â Okay, it may be half an order, but really? Â One shrimp? Â How cheap can you get if you are charging $10 for a pasta and rice dish? Â
Not all the food was bad, though. Â I took a bite of my bf's pastrami. Â Although it was pricier than The Hat's pastrami, I admit, it tasted good. Â It was moist, and flavorful, and fatty. Â The fries weren't bad, either. Â They were thin and crispy. Â My party was so hungry after they finished their meals, they all started snacking away on his fries. Â
The waiter wasn't too quick at refilling the drinks, but they weren't horrible about it. Â
We contemplated sharing appetizers because we were still hungry, after our meals, but we figured it wasn't worth it. Â We ended up getting more food at another place, afterwards.
I've been here about 4 or 5 times for Happy Hour and I've always had a good experience.
Haven't had a time where the service was bad thus far. Waiters are always attentive and friendly.
I usually order the chicken nachos or chicken strips from their appetizers menu during happy hour (I wouldn't pay regular price for these items but definitely worth it during happy hour).
My last visit, I was able to get a sample of Stella Artois in case I didn't like it. It was pretty good and I ordered a pint of that along with the chicken nachos and chicken lettuce wraps for the girlfriend and I. $20 including tax and tip. NOT BAD AT ALL!
Honestly, I wouldn't come other than Happy Hour just because their foods are pricey when it's regular price but it's good food and a nice, clean environment.
Out of all the times I've been to this location, I had the best service today. Our waitress checked up on us several times throughout our meal and made sure our water was always refilled. Came just in time for happy hour (3pm-6pm).
Chicken Lettuce Wraps ($~6): I wasn't expecting too much but to my surprise the chicken was really flavorful and i love 2/3 sauces that came with it. I didn't enjoy the sweet & sour one .. didn't complement the wrap too well but the other 2 peanut sauces were delish. I would get these again.
Chicken Nachos ($~5): The portion is HUGE and amazing for $5! 2 ice-cream size scoops of sour cream & 1 scoop of guacamole on top of nachos with chicken & beans. It's not worth $10 but a definite must try during happy hour.
Goblet of Stella Artois ($5-$5.75): There are cheaper alcohol happy hours out there BUT what i like about Yard House is that they let you sample a beer prior to ordering it just to make sure you like it!
Oh YUM!
I had the vegetarian street tacos (mushroom and onion) with an appetizer of the garlic noodles. Hubby got a Beef Dip sandwich with a salad instead of fries; the little girl got Mac N Cheese (not Kraft from a box!); my mom and dad shared the Lobster Garlic Noodles.
The food was GREAT.
My dad complained that the service was lacking, but, honestly, if our server spent as much time at everyone else's table as she did talking and joking around at ours, it made sense that she wasn't available every time my dad wanted her to be!!! (So, overall, I thought the service and the server were great).
My food was good (but I guess there was a mushroom shortage or something - - I didn't get a lot of mushrooms), the tacos were great (handmade flour tortillas with awesome hot sauce), hubby said his food was good, and mom and dad cleared the lobster garlic noodles off their plates in no time.
Dessert was banana chocolate creme brulee (my YH favorite) for me, a real fruit strawberry bar for the little girl (kudos to YH for giving kiddos health-ier options for dessert), and my parents shared the peach apple crisp with caramel ice cream.
Is this making you drool? It should be - - everything is really that good! (:
Other notes: Kids' meals are reasonably priced ($6?) and come with an entree, a side order (fries, veggies, fruit), a drink, AND dessert.
YH now offers LOTS of vegetarian options - - check out the vegetarian section on their menu (instead of going through the regular menu trying to figure out how to vegg-inize everything). They offer lots of Gardien brand products in lots of ways. (: Yay!!
They have rotating beers on tap (or on the "chalkboard") which is a fun and cool concept.
Oh, and don't forget to check out the beautiful ceilings and covered patio!!
I guess service at this place is a hit or miss, seeing the huge range of good and bad reviews, but my experience here last night was pretty good!
My friend and I were studying at Panera Bread in City of Industry, and we decided spur of the moment that we should go to Yard House for their happy hour (it's happy hour all night on Mondays for MNF).
I headed over there right away, so I got there way before my other friends, at around 9:30pm. I walked in and figured I would put my name down for a table, but I got seated right away, which was cool. The server attended right away, but since my friends hadn't arrived yet, I said I would just have a water until they got here. 15 minutes later, she came by again and asked if I was sure I didn't want to get something started, but to be honest, I was so hungry! So I went ahead and put in an order for the Fried Calamari. It came out fairly quick, and I started picking at it, hoping my friends would come soon. haha.
When they arrived, we ordered some food and drinks, and I think one of my friends just joked around saying it's my birthday (which it isn't until Wednesday), but she checked my ID and was like, yes it's your birthday. lol. Basically, at the end, she somehow convinced my friends to pay for my dinner for me (thanks guys!!) and brought out a chocolate cake with icecream on top :] Didn't really expect it, so it was pretty awesome!
I've been to this Yard House twice, and my experiences here were both pretty good! I'd definitely come back. I like how the location is easy to find, since I live far away, it's pretty important! Also, parking is plentiful :]
It had been awhile since I've gone to the Yard House but recently I stopped in with a friend for dinner.
I ordered the lobster garlic noodles and it was okay. Â Pretty expensive ($20 something) for a not so great taste, BUT I will say they give you plenty of seafood. Â So at least they aren't selfish on their shelfish haha.
I usually don't get clam chowder but I tried a cup here and mmmm it was delicious!
Staff was friendly and I had no complaints about my visit.
A diners WORST nightmare. Â Their "happy hour" was our "unhappy hour". The very dim lighting makes it almost impossible to inspect what you are eating. Â We were served UNDERCOOKED PINK SLIMY INTERIOR "grilled" CHICKEN on our caesar salad!!!!!!
First time at this restaurant. Â Went for happy hour.....left throwing up an hour later.
Our grilled chicken caesar salad was served with UNDERCOOKED chicken which was pink slimy raw in the middle. Â We only noticed the chicken was undercooked AFTER we had already consumed half the salad and chicken.
When we noticed the chicken was underdone we flagged down our waiter who promptly went to get the manager.  5 minutes or so later (which seemed like an eternity) the manager came out and apologized and comped our meal.  We immediatelyt  left feeling completely and uterly grossed out.
I felt sick right away and tried to hold vomitting but ended up doing so an 1/2 hour to an hour later. Â After a few phone calls to the drs office and poison control I realized we had to play a waiting game to see what might happen next. Â
I would not wish this experience on anyone. Â There is nothing like playing a waiting game to see if you are going to get food poisoning or not!
Thank God that 3 days later we seem to be ok other than the throw up episode, but this is an experience I will never want again.
I always check to see if my food is cooked through, especially chicken, but like I said the lighting is so dim in this restaurant it was almost impossible to see, but thankfully I did. Â The dark grill marks on the outside of the chicken were deceiving becasue it made me think the chicken was fully cooked.
Management was very apologetic and wanted to do whatever they could to make things better, they let us leave right away without paying the bill but it was only 2 appetizers and a salad..could not have been more that $25 tops. They offered medical attention or whatever else we needed. Â Personally, I would have paid them money NOT to have the experience we did. Â The only thing I wanted was to know that we were going to be ok. Â They chalked this incident up to human error, but I am sorry they had more than one opportunity to see if the food was cooked, they even sliced it and placed it on a salad, the fact that it went unoticed by the cook is mind blowing...that is food safety 101.
We were shocked at how many people were at the restaurant ...they have a good following, unfortunately we will not be one of those followers.
We also had onion rings which were horrible, and bbq chicken pizza which was ok but crust was soggy and overall apps were salty..probably becasue of the bar food. Â Oh..our caesar salad had two romaine ends (cores) in it as well..our second clue that there is not attention to detail in the kitchen.
When I came here I knew food may be salty, may not be the best tasting, but I had my hopes up for at least a decent experience...boy was this a let down. Â This is the kind of experience that makes me want to just stay home instead of go out to eat!-or at least dine where I am a regular and know about whether or not the food is consistent and cooked well etc.
