Good food, little understaffed but decent service, great location, plenty of beer choices.
Ordered fish and chips (very fresh fish and flaky crust), seafood risotto (skimpy on the seafood but rich and creamy), and a couple beers. They didn't have any cocktail sauce but our waiter was not stifled and said he would go make some and it was perfect.
I will be back when I visit Newport again. This time I'll try the sidewalk patio if the weather permits.
This was the first stop for lunch when getting into Newport. Â We were hoping for a spot on their patio, but all booked up (a good sign perhaps?) Â We sat inside in a window booth so we could watch the patio folk instead
Nice place with dark wood, pub vibe. Â I always like that. Â A little dated perhaps. Â What got me was the beer menu (as always)...Very nice selection of different beers in addition to obvious ones and apparently Magic Hat actually brews a beer specifically for the restaurant (tip: Â Nothing to write home about).
Service was good. Â Friendly waiter and nice pace. Â Made a nice recommendation on lunch special.
I ordered the Chicken Pomegranate sandwich and wife ordered the salmon tacos on waiter's recommendation. Â Both were very good and my wife was very happy with the recommended taco's.
Overall, a nice experience and way to start our weekend in Newport.
