Service is definitely slow - very frustrating when eating with a young toddler.  There was another little boy who must have been there long before us because he was just screaming.  Our waitress was friendly enough but she forgot to put in our appetizer so that only added to our hunger and frustration.  She did put the appetizer in after we mentioned it and gave it to us for free, though.  Unfortunately, the main course wasn't worth the wait.

We ordered fish sandwiches with tartar sauce. When they arrived we were told they were out of tartar sauce. My sandwich was OK but my husbands fish did not cover half of the bun. There was hardly any fish. I ordered a glass of wine which was advertised as $6.00 and when the bill came we were charged $10.00. My husband didn't realize we were overcharged and paid the bill. We were the only people in the restaurant and the service was still slow. For two sandwiches,  two beers, and the one my husband ordered was not available, and a glass of wine, the bill was about $45.00. Very unsatisfactory for amount of food and service. Also bathroom is dirty.

Went there during trip to Harpers Ferry. Nice small place for a drink. Had live music, and crowd was nice and quiet. Very very inexpensive drinks, had a Yuengling and Stella for $6 total. Food was alright, they said fish and chips was great...its just bar food. Met a few locals and had a great time meeting those living around there. Learned about the Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia. Would recommend to go and try if you are in Shepherdstown on Sunday night. Everything else was closed or closing or empty.

Service was pretty slow here.  Lots of apologies, but slow, none-the-less.  The Guinness and cheddar fondue appetizer was pretty good.  Great flavors of mustard and of course the cheese and beer.  Kind of disappointing to serve that with stale bread, tho.  It was obvious that the "toast" served with the fondue was day-old bread.  We later compared it to the pretzel roll on my husband's  sandwich, and sure enough, it matched up.  He was happy with the toast, but I knew what the deal was.   The Pink Diamond Martini was delicious!  My entree was the fish and chips, and I chose cole slaw as my side.  The fish was cooked wonderfully--crisp and light on the outside and plentiful!  The fries were just ordinary but the cole slaw made up for it, with it's homemade creaminess.   It would have been much better had the vegetables been allowed to drain before mixing with the sauce, which resulted in quite a watery consistency.  My husband was happy with his chicken melt sandwich, also served with fries.  The chocolate covered cheesecake slice we brought home was yummy & creamy, but I'm not sure it was house-made.  Would we go back again?  Maybe.  It might be a good place for take-out, as you won't have to wait so long to get served.

Ambiance- nothing like an English Pub. Not sure why they even call it that. Looked like they were going for a modern, clean look instead. Kinda boring.

Beers- great beer selection. I was happy to find Raging Bitch Belgian Style IPA on the menu, along with other good craft beers.

Food- shepherds pie tasted like old mutton instead of lamb. In my humble opinion, shepherds pie should have peas, carrots, onions, and ground lamb under mashed potatoes and then thrown in the oven to brown & crisp on top. They did not crisp the potatoes and there were not peas (boo).

Service- Seated us quickly, which we appreciated.  However, our waiter forgot to tell us the specials, did not bring us a loaf of bread like everybody else received, and was a little too rushed when he talked to us. Slow down a little to show you care...

Overall- we were happy to be seated so quickly and enjoyed the beer. The food and ambiance however were boring....
