Zuni's House of Pizza

This place is probably the worst place I've been to in a long time.

I have family in Lowell, so this is sort of an equidistant meeting spot.  We went in there tonight, and the first thing you notice is the staff that kind of hurries you even though there is a half empty dining room.  

Then, the wait time is LONG for even appetizers.  We ordered chicken fingers and poppers and got them about 30 minutes after we ordered them.  That's reprehensible.  Appetizers that have taken longer than 10 minutes are way overdue.

Before I get to the appetizers, let me mention a few things.  The pizza is almost decent, which is pretty hard to screw up because it's pizza.  The food is below average at best.  But you're thinking, "okay, to see family, I'll tolerate it."  

The staff is bottom of the barrel.  The servers act like they're doing you a favor if you get one who isn't utterly rude.  And I'd hate to bring up something as nasty as stupidity, but I attempted to clarify about 10 times that I was ordering cheddar poppers and got cream cheese poppers.

So we get the appetizer and I'm thinking, "great, how long till the pizza?  An hour and a half."  

Then my son bites into the chicken and there is a huge black mass the size of a nickel.  It smelled awful.  

We called what we thought was the host over and asked her what it was.  She replies, "I don't know what that is, you tell me."  You don't know what that is?!  You're running a restaurant!  You're serving food to the public.  And you act surprised by it like I'm showing you something you've never seen before?  

We find out this lady is the manager, she takes it back to the cook and comes back and tells us it's a vein.  this might have been the size of a huge vein on a human.  My brother is in culinary school and disagrees with her and she gets nasty at the table.  At that point we just left.

This place is the worst, avoid it like the plague.  

Terrible!

If you enjoy good pizza, a room full of smoke and foul mouth people in the bar...this place is for you.

My favorite pizza place in the area. We make sure we stop in each time we come back to cedar lake.  We had our rehearsal dinner here and we were very happy.
