In Short: Great food.  Attentive staff.  Friendly owner.  Quaint building layout.  Hate the cliche, but a hidden gem tucked down a small street and small building.

Details:  I came here a couple months ago when I visited a friend.  In truth I came here twice in the same day.  The first time I was trying to be healthy and avoided the tomato bisque soup and went for a light sandwich and salad.  After trying the soup my wife ordered, that soup was in my head the whole day.  The tomato bisque soup was soo creamy and rich that I had to go again-along with trying their specialty burger topped with pimento cheese.  I can't remember the dessert, probably because my food coma, but my wife liked it.

One of the best food days i've ever had.

My mother and I, longtime Abingdon residents, just had our first visit to 128 Pecan on Friday night! We were blown away and couldn't believe what we had been missing all this time.

The ambiance is the first great thing about this place. There is a beautiful patio with a lovely view of the Creeper Train and Trail, particularly beautiful at sunset. There are also several rooms for inside seating, all very intimate and romantic (fireplace and candles really up that feel).

Our server, Josh, was the next best thing. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the food and he was really charming.

Lastly, and most importantly, our food was yummy. I opted for a light meal-the chicken salad croissant and tomato bisque soup. (The soup was amazing! I ate the rest two days later with a grilled cheese and it was just as good as the first night! You know that I must really like it if I say this because I get kind of scared that things will go bad if they are in the fridge for more than a day even). My mother got the Chicken Florentine and also loved it. She kept trying to shove forkfuls of it into my mouth against my will. She liked it so that she boxed it up. She will probably eat one bite per day for a few months so that she can savor it, much like how I read Anna Karenina (one page, though.)

    Overall, go there!

Delicious tomato bisque soup.   Pasta with bay scallops was great.   Tasted like homemade pasta!   Wish they had used regular scallops as bay scallops were lost in full flavor of great pesto.  Trout served with nice veggies.    They wouldn't take a reservation but service is good and fast if you are going to theatre later

We stopped in here for lunch after our bike ride from Damascus before heading back. It is now under new ownership and the menu has greatly improved.  It looked busy but were seated right away. My husband and I ordered the blackened salmon ceasar salad and humus dip w/ fresh veggies. The humus was very fresh and not loaded with salt or oil. The bathrooms were very clean, the service friendly. A little $$ for lunch, though.

Great people and delicious food. My vegetable pasta was wonderfully tender (maybe homemade?), cooked just right, and customized for me since I don't eat cheese. My companion's crusted trout and collards offered a somewhat lighter variation of old-time Southern flavors. His pecan pie was warm and flavorful without being cloyingly sweet, as pecan pie sometimes is. If I lived anywhere near Abingdon, I would certainly be a regular!

this is a small restaurant located on Pecan street, hence the name. For lunch they serve moldy sandwiches. Went there for supper last night ans my wife and. I both had the crusted trout.  It was very good and comes with a side of soup or salad. I had black bean soup and it was delicious. My wife had the Caesar salad  which she liked. MAin course cost  $16.
For desert we had chocolate cake and a key lime tort, both of which were excellent. They also  serve wine and beer as well as mixed drinks. Decor was simple and enjoyed the fact that seating. was not cramped and that it was not noisy
