Very average, but right up my ally. I wish I could give 3.5 stars, because that's what it actually is. It's a sports bar, so don't bother with the fancy stuff, and don't expect anything fancy. The price is what you'd expect of a sports bar, so a little above average. Beers are average in price and selection, liquor/mixed drinks more expensive than average given its New Milford location. Always a game on, and every seat has an excellent view of at least one very large TV. Service is what you'd expect from a sports bar: very good during the week and before 8:00 pm; overwhelmed and slow on the weekends and after 8:00 pm. Very good wings, not excellent, but still very good. Wings are definitely better than TK's, and so is the atmosphere. Waitresses usually very attractive. In summation, go there with the guys to catch a game, eat some wings, have a beer, ogle the waitresses, and go home. On the weekends it's packed and they usually have a far-too-loud band playing not good music.
Highlights: Definitely the wings. Not 10/10, but probably a solid 8/10. I would definitely recommend the spicy garlic, those might bump up to 9/10.
Hidden treat: There are two: 1. The fries. They need salt (as all fries nowadays do), but man were they good. 2. The Tuesday night salmon filet special. I hate fish, but everyone I know swears by it, and from memory on Tuesday you can get two entrees from a list for the price of one, and I think the salmon was on the list.
Drawbacks: The weekends and the later parts of the nights, as well as the price of liquor/mixed drinks. It's so loud and crowded on the weekends you'll never get any service of any kind, and for whatever reason the irresponsible adult patrons who purvey this place think it's OK to bring their 10-year-old kids (plural) to a sports bar at 10:30 pm and not actually supervise them.
Sure, it's a sports bar...probably the best sports bar in the area! That said, the food is exceptional....from appts to entrees, everything is mouth watering. Had a NY Strip steak that was better than any area restaurant....all in all, 1st & 10 needs to be on your list to visit. Good job folks!
Review Source:Been here a couple of times now for drinks and grub.
But that's not why you come to 1st and 10. You come because of just how remarkable of a sports bar this place is, considering it hasn't been tarnished by the factory-made feel of corporate scum, e.g. Buffalo Wild Wings, Hooters, TGI Fridays, so on and so forth...
TV's, all HD, and they're freakin' everywhere... playing every sporting contest your heart desires. I'm sure they'd find a water polo game for you if you had the cojones to actually ask.
The beer is cheap ($3.00 for a PBR if you can stomach it), the food is pretty good, and the waitresses are young with nice "hooters"... It's a sports bar, this must be mentioned.
Only drawback is that sometimes there's a cover because they have a live band. I do my best to avoid these nights... I didn't come to a sports bar to hear some talentless hacks play their awful rendition of "Sweet Child O' Mine."
I went here a few weeks ago with my wife. It's nicely decorated, with flat screen TV's everywhere, and has two huge drop down screens. Â I got the steak and cheese and my wife got a cheeseburger. The bad news, my steak and cheese was terrible. Â The steak wasn't good and the cheese was a yellow, watery cheese sauce. Â The roll it was on could not hold the steak so it just split the roll in two and my steak went all over the place. Â The good news, my wife said that her cheeseburger was very good. Â So, if I go again I would get a cheeseburger and a beer. Â The service was excellent and that's why I pushed it to three stars. Â Seems like a good place to go to watch a game and to get a cheeseburger and a beer.
Review Source:Great atmosphere....bright, lots of tvs....Crowd is mostly working class young from the area sprinkled with some families and a few older couples.  We brought the entire family including little kids.  We loved the selection on the menu though the food wasn't fantastic...the wings and bar food was just ok.  However, on a subsequent trip I was very  happy with my grilled tuna salad!  Overall if quality of bar food improves....this place continue to attract older clientele including families.  No matter how great the atmosphere is...it is hard to draw folks back with just ok food...something has to pop...the wings, the burgers, something!
Bar has a good selection of beer....though I think it could use a few more micro brews...though not on tap because it is the microbrew-drinking crowd, it is more the miller and coors lite type crowd. Â So keep those microbrews in bottles where they will stay fresh for the yuppie weekenders and summer crowd when they pass through.
7:30 on a Saturday night in January with two big games on and the wait for a table was 45 minutes, which made me hopeful that maybe the food was decent. Hung at the bar and ordered appetizers only. Service was completely overwhelmed by the numbers of people...so much so that we practically had to beg to get a check. The irish nachos should just come off the menu completely (the 'irish' comes from a substitution of potato chips for tortillas and yes, you're right: what in gods name was I thinking ordering something with that name in the firstplace!) and I got my second only case of food poisoning from the fried calamari. 'Nuff said. Oh no...one more thing: why subject the waitresses who are not all in perfect physical shape to those skin-hugger low scoop lycra referee-style tops. Really, people. Probably good for a beer and a game. can't safely recommend eating anything there. Here's hoping they figure out the food and the service because it is nice to have a sports bar in the area.
Review Source:If I wasn't stuck on route 7 in a little bit of accident-related traffic, I wouldn't have really noticed this place. I was thrown off only because it was on the end of an otherwise empty-looking plaza.
Best part of this place was the beer selection which was okay. I came in to watch a Yankee game last week and sat at the bar. Good # of TVs. I had some nachos for dinner -- they were pretty run-of-the-mill. The bartender didn't seem to want to chat with me even though I was a woman sitting alone at the bar. I always look for a place where I can go by myself (I travel alone a lot) and feel comfortable. Sadly, this won't be my #1 choice when I'm in the New Milford area.
Not impressed at all. Â Food was terrible and service was spotty. Â If you stopping by for a beer and some TV - then it's the best alternative in town. Â Be aware getting in and out of the place from Route 7 is a pain in the you know where. Â Almost clipped by an eager bar patron one night confirmed that access will be a problem for this establishment.
As with all new places they are still working out the kinks, but if the area had more choices this would be closed in no time. Â I'll be nice and give it one more shot to see if the place has improved since 4th of July weekend. Â Check to see my follow-up review -
Just opened a couple of weeks ago. It's the sports bar that's been missing in New Milford. Eight plus big screen TVs, long "Giant" bar, and plenty of tables. Located in a nearly vacant strip mall on Rt. 7, this will soon become the hangout of softball teams, and golf foursomes. Good selection of beer and plenty of service people. The menu looks like sports bar fare. The boneless wings were good, though, a bit too flat and processed. The cheese burger came out too rare, but was tasty with the swiss cheese and all the trimmings. And the steak quesadilla was a big hit (though there's no guacamole in the place). The first beers we had were too warm, but the manager came right over an made sure we got a cold one. The service was also hot and cold. Three or four visits and then nothing for 15 minutes while. Still rough around the edges, but definitely worth a visit. (Everyone was complaining about the size of the appetizer plates...about the size of a teacup saucer.)
