42nd Street Oyster Bar & Seafood Grill

I've only been here once and my impression is that the food is ok but overpriced. An entree is not that big. However, you will get full from the free hush puppies, which were a little stiff in texture. I might come back to try one more additional dish but otherwise, been there, done that.

Wanted my first Yelp post to be positive and it is with having a great meal last night.  I am not a oyster fan but had plenty of choices.  I was with a friend who loves the raw oysters and raved on how good they were and all the different types that were to be had at 42nd.  I went with a combo of a filet/scallops and they were very good.  First time having scallops but will not be my last.  A very enjoyable evening to say the least.  We had a 7:15 res, arrived early and was seated right away (this on a Saturday night).  Waiting staff (Suzette) was great and informative and kept the hush puppies coming while we decided on what we were going to have for dinner.  We will be returning.

In business since 1931, this was a great place. Super bar with local beers on tap. Service was fantastic, the best I have had in a long time. Food was delicious as well. They specialize in oysters and sea food so stick with that.
