I wanted to like this place a little more than I did. I love the location, the decor, the fact that it's a popular place, and the drinks, but the food was a huge disappointment. Ive been here several times for drinks on various nights but recently stopped in for food with a group of friends and out of 6 people who ordered 6 different things, NO ONE was pleased with the food. Of course, we took it as a opportunity to sample each others food and aside from one of my friends liking the fries, we were extremely let down. The options for outdoor seating are great. The service was great. The drinks are awesome. Whether you stroll in wearing hole-y jeans and a flannel, or an oxford and khakis, you won't be too over or under dressed. A great place to be seen, and a wonderful place to drink... though I would recommend getting your eats somewhere else first.
Review Source:How they manage to serve great food and eclectic beers in the crowds that pack in rooftop, inside and outside is beyond me! the RT is home to my first "great" burger - I can't recommend it enough, and I've help convert quite a few others as well. I love the consistent ambiance, it knows it identity, whether, lunch, dinner or late night. The weekly block party is inspired and really helped to make downtown a destination. I don't know if they still serve PBR's in a brown paper bag, but it was a hoot when they did! Finding PBR's tap next to a belgium craft beer, was also a first for me. Thanks for making a staple RDT mecca, that is the Raleigh Times.
