I enjoyed sitting in the transitional space of Clockwork, right outside and also inside. The decor was simply incredible, I would say it is a split between Mad Men and Austin Powers, sound a little different, but it was gorgeous.
The beer selection was a bit limited, but I did enjoy what I chose. The reason why I am giving this place 5 stars is because of the delicious hummus and pita. I have never had a hummus and pita plate like this. The chef is quite talented, although I have heard he makes no alterations to the dishes for picky eaters. I would let him work his magic, as it was simply delicious.
Our waitress was incredibly friendly and knowledgable as well.
I met some friends at Clockwork recently on a Saturday night and it was packed. This was my first visit at this newish bar right off of Glenwood South. I would describe it as more upscale than some bars in the area, but very small and narrow in size which makes it difficult to make your way to the bathroom with so little room between the bar area and tables. Fortunately Clockwork has roaming cocktail waitresses to gather drinks because getting a drink at the bar can be difficult when it is as crowded as it was when I went.
I guess they were going for a Clockwork Orange type theme with the décor and it is a good effort, but not quite weird enough to be a total homage to the movie, (Clockwork Orange was a very WEIRD movie).
Clockwork is a decent new place to hang with friends and listen to some good music (mostly 80's it seemed). I would go back again, but hopefully when it its not quite as busy.
Recently opened up off Glenwood South district, this small, but big addition to the neigborhood. Â The decor is 60s inspired with a hint of Clockwork Orange movie influence. Â They offer flatbreads/pizza and served on a wood cutting board. This isn't a place to come for the food. Â It's a bar that's been decorated in a great funky way. I'll remember that on my next visit.
