the ambience is a bit lacking, and it's usually filled with the types of people i like to avoid when going out, but it's a decent bar, and provided it's not busy, you can get good service.
i'd like to particularly give kudos to the bearded bartender (forgot his name) that actually went through a flair bartending routine for my lady's mojito. he put on quite a show, and they used fresh ingredients, and the drink came out tasting great. what i found remarkable about this was that it was on a busy saturday night, and we would've been happy for a simple fresh cocktail, but he put in a great level of professionalism and showmanship that was appreciated.
i'd probably go back just to watch it again because frankly, not many bartenders around here do that sort of thing.
Horribly loud when there is live music - I mean TOO loud - you can't even hear when you leave and walk halfway down the block. Â The martinis are fun - a big menu of fun options, but beware, some of me aren't great at making it, and if you aren't careful, it won't taste like anything but straight liquor, & at $8-10, if I wanted a shot, I'd go to the Oasis and have a jolly good time, thank you very much.
Review Source:I'd been putting off going to 445 because I'd heard so many good things about it and I wanted to save it for a rainy day. I love a good martini bar.
We went in around 6 on a Saturday night. The place was pretty dead. The lounge area is basically in the basement of the Adoba Eco Hotel, and it feels like a basement. One sees fake wood paneling, silly, uncomfortable "modern" couches mixed with tables and chairs that could have been jacked from Perkins, and in the corner an ornamental fireplace panel.
One bartender preferred to surf on her laptop rather than acknowledge us, the other didn't seem to know anything, like what varieties of martini they offered, what their prices were, what there specials were, what kind boozes were available, etc.
Also, what kind of martini bar has Rage Against the Machine blaring on a Saturday night?
My drink, a Hendricks on the rocks, was fine, hence the two stars.
