Interesting layout with an outdoor patio, nice ambiance, excellent drinks, good service, hot drunk chicks. Would definitely go again.

What can I say about one of the best Saturday Night parties in the area. 46 Lounge has a very sexy crowd, crisp clean decor', smooth modern furnishings and mill work, great lighting and even better music spinning all night long. Valet parking, hookah service is plentiful, and bottle service prices vary by night. Of the 30 or so times I've been here I am impressed that I have never seen an all out brawl break out like most north Jersey clubs/lounges. The one or two times I've seen people escorted out were sloppy folks who couldn't hold their liquor and were potential hazards to themselves and those around them. I feel this trouble free environment is a result of the fellas working the door who have no problem turning away people who seem too drunk or under the influence or who are not dressing up to a simple yet established dress code. FYI, stay tuned to their website for special events and get on a promoters guest list to be granted access to the quicker VIP line and to save a couple bucks on admission.

I had only go latin nights, sometimes they do a salsa show with professionals!
is great everyone knows how to dance, no drunkies and girls dress hot, and guys are respectful.

is a fun place to meet people and mature crowd!

this is what the clubs should be like - on ground floor (not some shady underground), nice outdoors and LOTS of dance space.

but mind that it has two personality - spanish nights and friday nights.. basically friday nights for typical crowds.. I have gone there for columbian night (wednesday night) but I hate dancing with the set moves.. you cannot show yourself in that scenario.

not all friday nights are made same here as there are many djs taking turns here.. I found one really good who plays high energy level dance numbers.. and one avoidable because he shifts too much on hip hop style.. rest are good+ but not great.. there are live drummers (now rare), live dancers (now lesser), fancy dressers (now very rare) etc... its fun place.

for starters.. there is compulsory valet parking $5.. entry for boys $10 but you can get discount if you disclose your phone number...ladies $5 or free.

drinks are cheap.. about $6 for typical beer and $8 for cocktails.. I drink only 3-4 drinks so doesn't matter to me.

lately they started advertising on 92.3 and I noticed the crowd got noticeably older and lot more.. basically got too crowded. decided to give it a break and I will not be going there anymore.

I didn't know what to expect butI was dress to kill so I was ready to live it up and enjoy being young. This place was awesome...Ok so what wasn't awesome was the fact that valet parking was on the side of the club so i had to walk with my tiny dress and killer heels like 50 feet. Not cool dudes! Also I forgot it's NJ, and smoking is allowed so not only was I polluting my lungs with hookah (voluntarily) but I was inhaling some stranger's smoke. And I'm not a big fan of crowded clubs, I like to dance and need room to dance, but if you just want to jirate and look cute, then a packed club is A-ok.

The music got me on my feet and feeling sexy. The ambiance was sexy, fun, cool, and energetic. Everyone was dressed their best, which I like because I don't want no ghettoness. lol I loved the outdoor patio with hookah. The inside was spacious but so crowded I didn't get a chance to really explore.

Here's a tip for the restroom, knock down the wall and add more stalls! Seriously, only two!!! And to the girl, holding up 1 stall while talking to her boyfriend, shit or get off the pot!

Anyhoo, this place is sexy and I will return.

I am only reviewing their Sat Latin nights here. Heres the bad:The place gets Super crowded, the ac is kinda low so if you're a dancer - prepare to sweat and there's always a line after 11.

The good: if youre on their Latin pulse guest list you get in for free and get good deals on bottle service (I got $100 bottles of Ciroc for 4th of July), the place has nice decoraton, reminds me of Miami. They have food service, free salsa lessons if you get there early and even hookahs in their patio. The music is usually pretty good and mixed, they have stripper-ish dancers for when you need some motivation or forget a move too.

I don't mind coming here, but preferably if I have a table... because after coming several times without table service I have seen the hell of having to stand in 5 inch heels waiting to get asked out to dance and gulping down a vodka tonic just so my fingers can regain feeling. So go get your groove back with a little man that barely speaks english and is wearing white crocodile shoes! Rawr.

I stopped by 46 Lounge recently on their Latin night (Wed night). I hadn't been here in a few years, so I was curious to see if the place had changed in that time period.

    Arrival

The place is on the eastbound side of Route 46, next to a Sonic. If you're coming from the Hudson County area, this means you'll likely have to take the U turn on 46 West and come back to the other side. Don't get lost!

There is compulsory valet parking as you enter the lot, although on the night I went, it was free. My friends and I had gotten there pretty early (before 11pm), so there was no line at the door. $15 cover seemed a little high for a Wed night in no man's land.

    Inside

The lounge was pretty empty (again, since it was early), but gradually picked up as the night progressed. The inside has a bar and some couches for bottle service, and then a larger dance area near the DJ booth. There are more couches / VIP area towards the rear of the dance floor as well. A smaller area to the left of the main area contained easy access to another bar.

Music was a good mix of various Latin genres (reggaeton, merengue, bachata, salsa), and the crowd of ladies was pretty good numbers and looks-wise.

    Outside:

The lounge also features an outdoor hookah area with different music than the main room. Typical club music atmosphere, but it was good to have a change of pace from the main inside rooms.

    Other:

I liked the feel of the place. Dark with good accent lighting, trendy without being over the top pretentious.

Most of the females present were rocking dresses and heels; dudes rocked typical NYC / Hoboken bar attire (collared shirt, jeans).

I've heard that other similar clubs can get a bit rowdy (Coco Bongos in Elizabeth comes to mind). I did not witness anything like that on the night I was there. Pretty good crowd too busy trying to keep up with the beats to start any beef.

    Pros

    Great Latin music
    Lively dance floor
Outdoor patio with hookah is cool

    Cons

    Expensive cover
    Far from (most) places

My main gripe about 46 Lounge is that the entire place only has 2 bathroom stalls for women- so expect to wait 20 minutes in line if you gotta go.  If you have reservations and a table, they treat you really well.  I also like that they have an outdoor patio with hookah. I've been here a few times and we always enjoy ourselves- just wish there were more bathrooms!

This review will be short and sweet. The pros: close by, New York City feel, buffet dinner. The cons: stupid, retarded meatheads, most disgusting over-mascara girls. Saving grace is the music and Latin night.

Came here last night for a birthday party.

It was a fun Salsa night! My boyfriend's friend got a table to celebrate his birthday. The music was fun, people were dancing. Crowd was a mix of younger ppl (early 20's to ppl in their 30's) . We were in the VIP section which was fine. It was a little annoying because the waitress took a long time to get us our wristbands and the bouncer wouldn't let everyone in even though that was our table. We waited at least 30 minutes for her to come back with the  bracelets. The night was overall very good. It had a good vibe and the music was fun. Early in the night it was only Latin music but after 12/12:30 the dj started playing other things like hip hop and current music. There was an exciting and fun energy.

    What I liked:
    *fun music
    *everyone was dancing
*food was pretty good / decent price

    What I didn't like:
*guys and girls have to pay cover no matter what time you enter.
    *mandatory valet
*waiting for them to organize your VIP section takes a while

Overall, I had a fun night and it was enjoyable! It's not bad for a place in Jersey (doesn't compare to Manhattan but still fun). When I decide to party in Jers again, this could be a possibility.

I went on a Saturday night just last week for a friends birthday. Saturday is PURE latin night you will not here a drop of anything else and if you do, it will be for half the song until the DJ (who keeps playing the same songs over + over but spread out, so he thinks we won't notice) cuts the track to more and more bachata and merengue. I barely heard Salsa, until about 2am, an hour before they closed. It is open late for Jersey which is good but.. bring fun people and you'll have fun otherwise go somewhere else.

Don't get me wrong this place is good time ...they usually have marquee DJ's who play some good music that keeps the crowd moving and in one night there will be like 3 DJ's..

We went on a Wed. and look over to the left and oh ! Well if it isn't Hip Hop video vixen Rosa Acosta chillin in VIP ( with like 5 people ? ) ....

Either way , this place is a little expensive for what it is .

There is Valet ( 5$) then there is a cover at the door ( 15$ for guys) ..and you havent even made it to the bar yet ! The drinks are also not cheap and there is a 30 minimum for cards

Dude , your in Totowa !! Not fucking NYC .... at the end of they day they have to pay the DJ's and C -List celebrities that show up at the club.
But still... dude your in Totowa .LOL

If you want the NYC vibe and prices but wanna stay in ...Totowa then I would come here... Its not for the bargain hunters.

This place is so random.  It's right off of the highway and right next to a sonic.

I didn't quite understand the point of the valet either.  Maybe if it was harder to park and they didn't have a parking lot it would have made more sense.  Overall, it was $5 split between people so it wasn't that bad.  Just didn't see the point.

We got in for free so I can't say much about the price.  The place splits into an inside lounge and outside patio with hookah.  The music wasn't that good inside and was way too loud to hold a conversation.  That and our lemon drop shots were way too sweet and the minimum for a card was $25.

So we went outside to the hookah place where we were thoroughly entertained by the hookah man.  He tried to teach us to blow bubbles and form rings with the smoke because we were clearly failing.  Hookah was super potent and I got a little dizzy from it, but the hookah man held onto it for us if we wanted to come back.  The music on the outdoor patio was also a lot better than it was inside.  This earned the place its second star.

Bathroom...ok, what is that?  2 stalls for all of the girls.  I can imagine it gets pretty gross by the end of the night and if you're starting to feel sick, it would be awful.

People it is a club on route 46 for Pete's sake so If you're looking for a NYC  nightlife vibe you'll be disappointed. However if you're looking to dance to to fun music and don't mind rubbing elbows with a few guidos or guidettes you'll have fun.

Last Friday was my third time here and still had lots of fun. The drink prices are fine compared to NYC. Basically if you're in the mood to shake your booty but don't want to travel into Hoboken or NYC then this is the place for you.

PROs: Good music, nice decor, outdoor patio, hookahs, and free buffet on Fridays!

CONs: music could be adjusted based on how packed the place is, I mean seriously, if there's only a handful of people there for a happy hour, LOWER THE MUSIC. Also, GET RID OF THE VALET. I can park my own car thank you.

So, you're probably wondering why I still gave it four stars? Well, having lived in DC for a few years I got used to having a variety of dance spots easily available, but it's not the case here in Jersey. So, for what it's worth, it's nice to have a place to go if I need something close to home instead of trekking into Hoboken or NYC. Just somewhere to dance, or hang out with a hookah and good friends. And really guys, who can beat a free buffet with legit food not just random appetizers! Perfect for an end of the week happy hour!!

We had the best time here! We were in the VIP area and had some AWESOME french fries while we sipped on Bacardi and Cokes. Spent quite some time on the dance floor and out on the patio. I never smoked flavored tobacco before and I was surprised to have found it pretty tasty. Definitely going back for Thursday night next time!

I had a really good time here. There was a short 10-15 minute line but $10 later we were in this place and dancing and enjoying the music and good times and good mood everyone was in. Something about Spanish clubs, all the women love to look so damn good. Drinks weren't too expensive, NJ came through for that, and there is a Sonic next door for a late night treat after the club. They had hookahs outside, but it was a bit hot that night to partake in that. The music was mostly what you hear on NY Spanish stations 96.3, 97.9. I think I heard some songs more than once, but I still had a great time no less. Paid dancers looked a little aged for the average age of the crowd the night I went.

It is a shame that North Jersey can't get their act together when it comes to Lounges. This place is a perfect example. They over charge for everything, the crowd is filled with people with bad attitudes, the food and drinks are nothing great and the music is WAY  TOO LOUD!

The place is nice with a great setup, the only downfall here is the fact that there is only 2 stalls. If you plan to pack in the crowds for a lounge/ Nightclub, make sure there are enough bathrooms for the people.

valet charge, cover and coat check charge, and only 2 bathroom stalls = bad news.
however, had a lot of fun dancing here. you have to be in the mood to dance a lot to go here.. just ignore the staff hooker dancers in the spotlights lol. latino saturdays play a lot of good music if you like that- if not, don't go and don't complain.

Meh. is spot on, I have been here few times in last 7 years and they have exchanged hands countless times. I still remember when this place freshly opened up and try to be some what of a "Scores" of NJ but *Epic Fail. The last visit was for a birthday party and we enjoyed our stay here, we did plenty of drinking/dancing and gave some of our drinks away towards the end of the night.

Some of the reviews for this place are hilarious but there is some truth in them. I've been to this place a couple time but only on a Friday after work. They sometimes have a free buffet but the quality is what you get when its for free. I have seen a lot of freshly waxed guidos, eyebrows and all but you also see some old guys either going through a midlife crisis or refusing to accept old age. I would never make this a place to end my night but definitely fun for happy hour. By the way the sliders are delicious and just so you don't think its that bad I have seen a couple executive cuties.

Had my 29th birthday here back in 2006.  It was a Friday night.  We got there around 11 p.m. or so.  Walked in and the place was packed already.

The music was good, drinks were flowing, and everyone there was having an amazing time.  Decor was cute.  The people inside, well, they were just cheese.  People were either trying to be Lindsay Lohan or one of the Gotti sons.  But I wasn't there to make friends ... I was there to have a great time.  Which I accomplished.

One problem, ladies room needs more stalls.  There was always a line of 15+ waiting to use the toilet.

46 Lounge constitutes a great night out if you fit the following description:
    * You wear multiple gold chains and rings.
    * Your car costs more per month than your residence.
    * You pronounce coffee "cawfee."
    * You have surgically enhanced parts of your anatomy.
    * The majority of your wardrobe comes from Joyce Leslie.
    * Your neck is bigger than your head.

46 Lounge, what are you trying to be?  Your website says Martini Bar --- Wine Bar --- Tapas Menu --- Eclectic Dining Lounge --- Nightclub --- Tropical Outdoor Patio.

Well my girlfriend and I went on Friday night during "upscale happy hour" time, which was before 9.  First, I got hosed for a $5 valet charge.  Next, we walk in for elegant Friday and see guys in khakis and polo shirts.  The inside was very nice, modern styling, cocktail tables and lounges with cocktail tables, two very well appointed bars.  They have done a great job with the design.

But then the "what am I trying to be" sets in.  Its great to be an eclectic tapas bar - martini lounge - wine bar, just do it right.  We escaped to the outdoor patio (overlooking the lovely construction on 46) to have a cocktail.  All well and good, till our martinis showed up in champagne flutes and my girlfriend's martini with a twist showed up with pulp.  The small plates menu looked like a selection of microwaved food (coconut shrimp, chicken satay, sliders...).  Worst of all, the music volume was pumping louder than a jackhammer.  That's fine for a dance club, just don't serve tapas and martinis in an environment where I need to yell to talk to the person next to me.  We were out in 20 minutes.

One star for shitty drinks and an inhospitable dining atmosphere.  This place is probably better as a dance venue, but skip it for drinks or small plates.  If you go for dancing, at least you can take in the eye candy.

This spot used to be the old Sport Sexy. I've never been or heard of it before but I've been told 46 Lounge is much better. Overall I kind of liked it. They played REALLY good dance music. They're open from 9-3am. I arrived at around 12:30 and it was packed.
They are strict with the valet and entrance policy... "unless you're an attractive girl", so the valet and security told me. lol. I did have 1 shot here and it felt as though it was 2-in-1. I do like the architecture of this place. In my opinion the decor is cute but looks a little cheesy. I do know there is an entrance fee ( somewhere between $10-15?) However, I'm not sure b/c we did not have to pay. This place was good, considering I dislike most Jersey clubs/lounges.
