555 Lounge

Came here for a good time on a Friday night. I would say this place is okay, but it needs a bit of work. I really think the idea is great because we need some place like this in Gaithersburg.

1. My drink. I ordered a martini. Apparently, the bartender didn't know how to make one, so someone had to teach him. The drink wasn't bad and the price was right. So I can't complain.

2. The DJ wasn't the greatest. The playlist was  random. For example, he would play James Brown, the next song  Top 40, the next song 80's hiphop, next song AC/DC, the next song Reggae, etc. Most places I have been too play a couple of songs in one genre and then transition into the next genre. Maybe he was trying to get a feel for the crowd??? Idk. Eventually after about an hour or so, he stuck to mostly songs from 80s. The majority of the patrons seemed mid 30s-40s and a diverse group.  I am in my late twenties so  I knew all of the songs. It did not affect my good time. I danced the night away.

3. Food was pretty decent. Tiramisu was delicious.

4. Why did my receipt say Chicken Out Rotisserie???

Overall, I came to have a good time, and I honestly did. If you want to have a good time, you will. I just think this place needs to find its niche. I will come back though! I am honestly looking forward to Tuesday night karaoke.

Bottom line. If you want to have a good time, you will!

I went here for happy hour. I ordered a frozen margarita. IT WAS AWFUL. My friend ordered wings and she waited for 20 minutes only to be told they were out of wings. The bartender was nice, but that frozen margarita WAS TERRIBLE. I will not return.
