We went to the 77 a few days ago for the breakfast buffet. It was pretty good, the man running the buffet line was great! Very friendly and seemed to take a lot of pride in what he was doing -- it was a very refreshing and nice thing to witness. The french toast pudding was perfection!
When we first sat down we witnessed an older gentlemen (the owner?) impolitely tell our waitress she needs to wipe down the tables faster... me and my friends all felt a bit sour after seeing this guy talk to the waitress this way! We ended up giving her a good tip because we felt bad for her, especially since she handled his rudeness with amazing grace!
Definitely worth a try but not 4-5 stars after seeing the way our waitress was treated!
I have been to the 77 Restaurant 3 times. It is the old Embassy Restaurant. The first was actually New Year's Eve with the family before I went out. My dad had the Prime Rib and said it was delicious. A few of us got the Chicken Family Style and was also impressed. The fries were great, the sauce had a nice taste and the chicken was nice and juicy. It also comes with free soup which was very good as well.
The other 2 times I have went was for the Sunday Brunch which was great because its only $8.95 per person. It includes all of the classics (scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage, beans, hash, and pancakes) There is also a ham carving station, crepe station, and omelet station. It is a very good brunch and they are constantly refreshing it so the food isn't just sitting there.
It has a nice atmosphere in there, the service has been great all 3 times I have been, and it is a good value. I would recommend trying it out. I have yet to be disappointed and will most likely return.
The food is generally good. Â The best sandwich is the pastrami. Â The chicken wings would be much better if there wasn't a coating. Â The roast beef is also good, but get the toppings on the side since they are salty. Â The pizzas are also very good, especially the $5 cheese at the bar.
The worst part of this restaurant is the service. Â One time we had to wait over 45 minutes for steak sandwiches. Â Also, the female bartenders are slow and are more interested in texting than waiting on their customers.
I went back to RI to see my family and I went to 77 for some apps and drinks and found it to be great service at the bar, good apps, the stuffed potato skins were great and the entertainment was awesome. I did forget the name of the band though, however 77 has entertainment every weekend. Drink prices were very reasonable and late night apps were very good so i pretty much stayed until the place closed at 1am.
Review Source:food server was very nice the only problem was the chicken was over cooked and and was dry. French fries were over cooked also. if there was seasonings there could not taste.sever was very quick and nice soup was good but to much pepper for my taste.so i will have to give this a star of one.i realize that you recently opened so maybe i will try again in the future but not anytime soon
Review Source:I have been to this place a few times in tha last two months with my wife and daughters. We have always been welcomed at the door and have had fast and friendly service from the food servers and bar servers. The food has been really good and at a very reasonal price. The bar prices are also fair priced and they have a good selection of draft beers with daily specials of drinks and food. You can't beat their Club 77 specials on price, quanity and Quality. Good luck to this new family owned restaurant.
