wish it was not as packed so service can be quicker but still very good place to eat

The thing I like about chains is that you're pretty sure what you're going to get no matter where you are.

Unfortunately, this was not the case with this Acapulco.  The food was mediocre at best.  The wait staff was more interested in chit chatting among themselves then refilling my drink.  It appears the restaurant has lowered their standards since they have no one to impress than predominantly college age kids.

This place barely missed the one star due to the fact that it was clean.

I've always loved Acapulco. I came on a Sunday. It was the tail end of the buffet. Didn't want to be eat the leftover stuff people have picked at, decided to go with menu.

The lady at the front smiled as I said, "table for 2, please?" Then she continued to do what she was doing. Ten minutes later, she was done with what she was writing and seated us. I'm annoyed at this point.

Seated towards the back, same lady places a buffet slip on my table as I kindly said, "we're here for the menu dining." She disappears and never returns. Waitress comes. She said, "go ahead and go to the buffet when you're ready". Extremely annoyed, I informed her that we're here for menu dining. She walks away. Ten minutes later the chips server arrives and asked, "buffet of menu?" Irate, I tell him, "you're the 3rd person I've asked a menu from." He smiles (no apology) and delivers two menus. If this is the trouble of just getting a menu, I'm afraid of what the trouble will be like to get actual food.

Table side gucamole: waitress tries to put on a smile as she asked "spicy or not spicy". At this point, I didn't even want to look at her. But the gucamole was ok, the flavor was good.

Fajita duo steak and shrimp: what the hell happened to the portion? The steak used to cover the entire skillet. This time it was 1/4th the skillet and 5 pieces of shrimp. Even the beans and rice portion had been scaled down. The flavor of the food was great. Good old reliable Acapulco flavor.

Drink refills: you better drink slowly because it may take over 20 minutes to get your refills after you've asked for them.

Coupon: Acapulco has been known to accept their coupons, even if expired. Today, the waitress said that they no longer do that.

Ahhh...not good service. It wasn't even crowded there!!!

I came here today with my cousin and her family for her graduation, and we got a large table. Some people ordered from the menu, but me and 2 others ordered from the buffet. The buffet is $8.99/person. Great deal! The food was really good, I enjoyed it a lot.

The server...I wish I caught her name. She was terrible. We asked for an extra fork, no extra fork. We had to take it from another table after waiting over 10 minutes. She never came back to refill our water. We had to wait an extra ~15 minutes just to get the check!

Oh yeah, about the check. This really pissed me off. When I got my paycheck [why we each got individual paychecks I'll never know...] I was charged $14.90. What the heck? She charged me for 2 shrimp enchiladas, some rice, and something else. It was originally a higher price, but she gave a "discount."
$8.99 + 9% tax is only $9.80...and even with 18% added gratuity that supposedly would have been there [which she DIDN'T DESERVE] it should only have been $11.55 [which the other two guests were charged btw.] I paid 52% more than I should have.

She took so damn long to even get our INDIVIDUAL paychecks to 10 people, we all could have just walked out. I should have debated the check too [my fault], but I was so pissed and tired of being there for over 1.5 hours that I just paid and left.

She didn't give me my change, either. Or a receipt. I don't care that it was only a dime, just showing that you can't give back the small change or a receipt is bad conduct.

I'm so glad I live far away, I'll never have to come to this Acapulco again.

Can't say this is my favorite place, but that's mostly because spicy food gives me heartburn. Still go once every few weeks though. It's menu rarely changes, which is good. However, the salsa does seem to change everytime we visit. It ranges from "OUCH!" hot to tomato sauce. We've had some rude servers over time, but we've never let that stop us. You just have to find what you like. Enchaladas? Yes! Nachos? Meh. Flan? I swear I didn't eat it :)

There continues to be a hassle from the same manager in charge last night in regards to coupons. We placed a to go order and used the ten dollars off coupon. During the transaction he came over and informed me that coupon was dine in only. I read the coupon prior to order because of the last time we were hassled for using a coupon from this manager when we dine in for the first and last time at this location.  He needs to focus on quality of food and getting orders correct.
Shrimp Fajitas , we didn't receive our flour tortillas , we asked for extra salsa and never received, condiments were in teaspoon containers and you get one.  Really???
Four item Combo, shredded beef tacos had red cabbage mixed in with the lettuce?? Not fooling anyone !! Common tactic to cut cost.  Really??

I hate this place, there is so much wrong with this entire establishment. The only reason I ever went/go is because it's close to campus so I could walk with friends to get a drink during a long break between classes or it was convenient to have everyone meet there for group meetings and such.

The parking is decent but it does become a little bit of a problem when it's really busy, just like most places.

First reason why I hate this place is because of the service. I remember specifically one time I had gone with a friend and we asked to sit in the Cantina. The lady at the front said she wouldn't feel right sitting us there because she doesn't think we would get good service. We were actually really glad she said that, not many people would care, and so we followed her to the main section of the restaurant. Turns out the only way to get proper service is to go somewhere else though.

We were seated and waited about 10 minutes for someone to come over, even though they weren't busy. My friend and I each ordered an alcoholic drink, those took about 15-20 minutes to show up. The man simply dropped them off and walked away without bothering to ask us if we were ready to order or anything. I'd say it took him over 10 minutes to come back again, at which point we were already upset because we were stuck with poorly made drinks and he kept rushing us while we were ordering. My friend tried to ask him about taking away the guacamole that came with her meal and he just talked over her to ask me what I wanted then acted like he didn't know he was doing it when she drew his attention to the fact that she was still talking.
By that time we had finished the crappy drinks and ordered some more so we could actually have something to go with our meals. The water we ordered with our first drinks somehow just never made it. So we're sitting there, nothing to drink, no food, and no service for again close to 20 minutes.

Finally our drinks came and then 10 minutes later our food came. He put the food down and vanished even though he had forgotten something my friend had asked for.  It was just all terrible. Our food wasn't even hot, which sucked because we both ordered items with cheese. The cheese was already beginning to become a chewy block. The lady who sat us there obviously played some kind of joke on us talking about it being better service than in the cantina. I've never had issues there like I did in the main restaurant area.

The cantina is awesome, especially when it's football season and game day. Monday nights are always loud and people are just having a good time. The service can be slow but that's not really something you can complain about when you come during this time. The atmosphere is great though so you don't really notice how long it takes for your drinks to arrive. I don't suggest waiting to order AFTER you finish your drink, you should always order when you've still got some left so you're not left sitting there with nothing.

They got rid of the 3 Tequila Sampler...... why !!!!!!!!
best deal ever. $7.99 and you get 3 shots of tequila.
ok so my review is mostly on the bar area.

    The Good
Unlimited Free Salsa and chips. They got a salsa bar you help yourself to.
They make a great Kragen Sunrise drink.

    The Bad
Service can suck. Can't quite put my finger on but you are definitely left waiting alot.

Going with 3 stars because I would definitely go back but not with any special expectations.

Normally I wouldn't really go to Acapulco with my family, but my dad has a good relationship with the owner or manager since they workout deals together with my dad owning a hotel close by.

So we came here to try and dinner was on him, very nice of him. Anyways it was better than I expected than last time I came here which was a really long time ago maybe about 4-5 years ago.

Drinks (4.5)- I do really love the drinks here though!!!

Guacamole (3)- not bad guacamole, had pretty good flavor!

Fresh Spinach Enchiladas (3.5)- actually not bad, much better than the regular enchilada rancheras since this had spinach and mushrooms in it, but could have used more flavor. I really enjoyed the sauce with a creamy espinaca con queso!

Deep Fried Ice Cream (2)- I used to enjoy this dessert so much, but I feel like they got worse, I think my mom makes much better.

Overall not bad, but my family and I do have much better mexican places we prefer and that are much more authentic than acapulco! I would come here with a big group of friends or something as I did celebrate my graduation at the pomona location!

Happy 2013 as this is my first 5 star and review for the year. This never fails me especially for a birthday. When you sign up on their web site they send you a coupon up to $12.99 so you can go and enjoy a nice birthday meal and they will also bring you flan for dessert to add to that meal. The staff is really good here. My recommendations are to get the Fajita Platter that comes with Chicken, Shrimp and steak. It is enough for two people and will fill you up. I paid with the birthday coupon $6+tip. Highly recommended. Not just for special occasions but anytime you crave Fajita. Enjoy!

I used to go to this location a lot growing up and everyone used to be super nice and attentive. The last few times I've visited it's taken forever to get served even if it wasn't busy. The quality of the food has really lessened. It was just ok. I much prefer take out because I don't have to wait forever to be served but I don't think I even want to bother with that since there is a pretty good mexican food place right across the street! I'll pass.

After being shocked that the Woodland Hills location had closed, but having an awesome coupon burning a hole in my pocket, we drove to the next closest location.  Funny - I grew up in the 70s and 80s seeing a dermatologist catty corner to this place but never knew it was here.  It's sort of a weird location for a traditional sit down restaurant.

I'm normally a fan of older styles when it comes to restaurant architecture, but time has not been kind to this one.  It's awkwardly laid out and the decor more makes fun of the 80s than fondly remembers it.  A few upgrades here and there could go a long way.  I mean, I love the warm, soft glow of an incandescent floodlight but really?  Still using 100 of them?  No wonder your electric bills are so high.

Food was pretty good, though not as good as the last location in Orange County I dined at.  It seems more and more of these, as well as El Toritos, keep closing.  I really hope the ones that do survive can beef up their game and become the classics they once were rather than fading to obscurity like so many other once-great food names.

Tried out this Acapulco a couple weeks ago during Margarita Monday.  I was meeting up with a group of coworkers.  This place is a lot better than the Acapulco location that used to be on Ventura Blvd. in woodland hills,  but it is not as good as the great location they used to have in Fresno.

I don't drink Margaritas so I was not able to benefit from the deal.  All my friends seemed to really like the prices though.  I ate steak fajitas.  (my favorite)  my roommate Gil got some steak and shrimp fajitas.  Mine was really good but I regret not getting the steak and shrimp like Gil did.  His had the same amount of steak and the additional shrimp and it only cost him like a dollar or two more.  Worth it!

The chips are great.  The salsa is good.

I cant really give this place any more than 3 stars because they took about 10 to 15 minutes to bring our drinks out.  And I mean Any drinks.  we didn't even have water until he brought the drinks we ordered.  Then it took about 25 to 30 minutes to get our appetizer and about another 10 to 15 minutes to get our food.   When that food finally got there we were ravenous.

Over all it was a good time but they need to get it together here.

The food is alright, but this review is mainly about the Margarita Mondays. Monday nights they turn the cantina section into a little "night club". They clear out the cantina and turn it into a giant dance floor. The floor has taped lanes so people can move around. Bouncers will come up and move you to make sure you're not in those lanes. It was really confusing until one of the bouncers pointed at the taped lines and pointed to where we had to stand. House margaritas are $2.50 and handed out by servers with trays or served at the bar. They're super sugary lime margaritas but they'll do the trick.

As far as clubbing and dancing goes, it wouldn't be on par to any clubs in LA but hey it's the valley. They also do have a strick dress code (i.e. no white tees, torn jeans, etc.)  and a two or three dollar cover.

Personally, this was a good choice for some margaritas on a Monday with my ratchet half Jessica F. After a day of being sick to my stomach, I needed to get out and try to get something in my stomach. I know, a b would go for margaritas, right?

Anyway, we get there like around 9:30ish. We get seated and right away demand some margaritas + chips and salsa :) Each marg was $2.50 so me and Jess hopped on it right away. They were pretty hooked up. All it took for me to question if I should drive was 3. Lol. We were there till pretty late. We were the last bitches sitting in the back of the restaurant. I didn't mind. The DJ came and started playing the knockers. Thought I was in my car bumping my favorite radio station. Lol. We were straight giggin'.

I loved that our waiter was sweet enough to not rush us out of there. It was so dark, I  needed to turn my phone on to light Jessica up. Didn't want to lose the bitch. Lol.

Once the clock hit 11:30, it was time for us to wrap it up and hit the sheets since we had work the next morning bright and early. As we walk out, we thought we had just entered a world where it was a Saturday night. Why are all these people here in heels and in their Saturday's best? Apparently, this was the SPOT. If you didn't know, this particular location is right by CSUN. So all the college students come get their TYGA on with not a care in the world.  Lol.

We finally make ourselves to the door and what do we see? A HUGE ASS LINE of people, yet trying to get in. 3 bouncers at the door and everything. This place is serious. Who said the weekend ends on Sunday anymore? Bring that shit over here.

    Definitely will be back :)

NO, NEVER, DON'T GO, AVOID. Monday's is Ghettorita Monday. Who knew. I thought it was like El Torito, so our plan was to sit at the bar, have a pina colada and walk out. No can dosville... You have to get a wrist band to walk into the cantina, they were playing loud music and had a strobe light and a bunch of hoochies partying the night away... at Acapulco? Is there nothing good in Northridge that you have to go to Acapulo to club? The guard took one look at us (I was in jeans, a tee and flip flops and the bf in shorts, a tee and nikes) and he said "no you guys can't enter." Don't trip homie, I don't want to enter anyway. Like my quick tip said " WE WALKED IN AND RAN OUT." Well now we know. Will not return........

    Margarita Mondays!
I'm glad that I was able to go to this one since the one in Westwood closed down this past quarter :[ The deals are still the same and still good! $2.50 for house margaritas and $2.75 for all other ones. I suggest the strawberry, raspberry (a little tangy), & coconut-pineapple (if you like pina coladas).

We also got the Ultimate Platter for 2 (I think that's what it's called). It's sooooo much food. We shared among the 3 of us, and I died. It's like 2 enchiladas, 2 soft tacos, 2 quesadilla pieces, 2 burritoishsomethingsomethings, and beans and rice on the side.

Service was really good, but if you sit in the cantina and come before 8pm, they will ask to see your ID again.. even if you're sipping on your drink -___-

Do you guys remember a chain called Chi Chi's?  This is pretty much the same.  They try to do Mexican food that the entire family can enjoy.  It's basically Mexican food made by Mexican's who are told to make it like a white person.  Horrible.  With so many local REAL Mexican food joints in the area, not sure how this place survives.

And the service was AWFUL.  I was there for a bday and even told our server before hand that we were there for a special event.  They kept bringing more salsa but no chips.  Never refilled our drinks.  We waited 35 minutes from the time we got our salads till the food came out.  We flagged down another server to please get us some water while we wait.  Then they finally put food down on our table, and 5 minutes later come back with their complimentary bday desert....which is nice, but dude could you wait until we eat our meal??

And we were all sick the next day.  Nice.

A taco truck would have been nicer.

Cannot believe the reviews I am reading below. We love this place, the people, the food, the service. Everything is Great, even the landscaping is nice, the clean parking lot. Above all we are treated like family and it feels like our very own dining room. The food is delicious, we have never had a bad meal here and have been a customer for many years. We usually frequent the restaurant weekly, I look forward to going.
My theory is if the salsa and chips are good the food has to be terrific.........and IT IS.
+ Chino our bus boy gives me free Spanish lessons :) Our Waiter Evaristo (sp) is always helpful and friendly, truthfully I cannot say enough good things.
We just got home from having lunch there!

The first star is for the service. Waiters are usually on top of it.
The second star is for the drinks. Sangria with white wine is pretty good.
Food is rarely "good", most of the time I would classify it as "passably edible". You wouldn't think it'd be easy to screw up a quesadilla, but this place brings over-cooked quesadilla making to a higher art form.

So we walk in and we are promptly seated for a table for six. Here's where the review goes bad. We wait and wait and wait. And then we wait some more. Almost twenty minutes before our waiter comes to our table. Luckily, they dropped off a basket of chips for us to fight over. At this point we don't even have water on our table. After an eternity of waiting, our waiter finally takes our order.  Another fifteen minutes go by after he takes our order and finally he brings us our glasses of water. I look around and I see other similarly disgruntled patrons. In fact, the table next to us had asked for their check the moment we sat down. We continue to wait  and wait and wait another eternity. Thirty minutes into our ordeal the table next to us finally gets to pay while we wait forty five more minutes for our food to come out. In total it took an hour and a half from the moment we sat down till our order came out. When our order finally came out, they apparently ran out of rice and put vegetables on my friends plate as a substitute without asking. When my friend said he ordered rice, the waiter told us that they ran out of rice and have to cook some more.  So why lie and say that he thought my friend got vegetables?

The food itself was nothing spectacular. The chile relleno and the taquitos were fried in old oil and had a burnt after taste. I had a carnitas taco that barely had any meat inside. The tamales were stale and dry. The meat was inedible and the mysterious red sauce tasted like bitter tomato paste. The only redeeming factor was the cheese enchilada, but honestly, how hard is it to mess up a cheese enchilada? It's just cheese wrapped in a tortilla baked with some sauce.

To finish, our waters were refilled once at the end of the meal when we were all finished.

Also, the music was a bit weird. It was like house mariachi music.

Finally, we had to get up to ask for our check, but guess what. Another twenty minutes of waiting before we got our check. In total, our ordeal lasted over two hours from unpleasant start to terrible finish.

If you're a CSUN student you know wsup... HAPPY HOUR and MARGARITA MONDAYS!

It's really a 4 star but I bumped it up cause of the price and CSUN'ity.
I came here after midday class with friends probably 100+ times. First off from a CSUN-student aspect... the Happy Hour (4-7) includes $1 tacos, 1/2 off apps, a MUCHO PLATTER for $5 that'll fill you up and for you're broke-ass friends with no money... they're free food at a buffet style kiosk set up so just roll in with people who DO have $$$ / are buying something and grab some free grub.

I came here to watch so many games between classes. And MARGARITA MONDAYS. So many group dates back here a lifetime ago. Grabbing my dorm friends and hitting up Acapulcos at 8pm on a Monday night to meet new peeps. Good times.

As for the food. Their BONELESS WINGS (not mexican, i know) are my favorite boneless wings in existence. $1 tacos are decent. Their Pina Colada margaritas are so tasty.

*Remembers Angela Ting downling like 10 of em*

And of course you can always order from the regular full menu which has a ton of tasty succulent items.

But yeah... if you go to CSUN... a definite must... if you're looking to meet new people, balling on a budget or looking to escape the confines of campus.

    ------------------------
    EDIT 06/25/2012
    ------------------------

So I came here with an old CSUN friend I hadn't seen in over a year (Vic) a coupla weeks ago for Margarita Monday. Just like old times. Anyway it was literally as the LA KINGS were closing out the NHL title... and the place was poppin' energetic and lively. Their HH menu had decreased dramatically and instead of ALL the appetizers 1/2 off, it'd been replaced by a new smaller crappier 4-8pm "selected" Happy Hour, which included a bunch of $2.99 items.

~ TUtSCAN CHICKEN FLAUTAS - These things were fuckin' amazing!!! So worth it. The flautas shell was lighter than a taquito, yet still crispy and the chicken and cheese blended person. (5/5)

~ TACOS - I got a few different types. Forgot which were good which weren't. (3/5)

-Nasty food- it all tastes like those cheap frozen meals from the grocery store- from the salad to the enchiladas to the flautas- all nasty!

-Worse service-  took the waitress 15 minutes to bring us water, and she brought the sour cream we asked for when we were done with our meals, completely rude tone- and we were the only white ones in there- coincidence?

-Specials- weren't offered to us until after we ordered- how convenient.

Save yourself the wasted time, money, and health- food will make you sick.

I prefer El Torito- good food, great service, non-racist staff, and right down the street!

I may consider a happy hour in he bar- maybe the service is different there? Eh...but why go here? there's too many other options. This place should be put out of business.

Myself and Nik finally went to ACAPULCO!!!!.......No,  not a vacation, but the restaurant.
I have been terrible about reading reviews before I go anywhere, since i tend to only read them as I am placing my own,  and now I am a little shocked by all the bad reviews I am seeing on this location.
I have only a few sllght disapointments to mention, but nothing that wont keep me from going back again, though I am a little freaked out by one of the reviews that mentioned plastic and hair in her food.....EEK.
We though everything went well with our dining experience, service was fast - refills before we knew we needed one, food was acceptable.

I did however feel the side table Guacomole was a bit expensive for what we actually ended up with .. $8.99 for a cups worth of guac,  the bowl its served in is very deceiving.

And our waiter could have been a bit more friendlier, I felt  like we were inconveniencing him a bit with wanting to eat there... still tipped him over 20% though since his service was great... I just would have liked to see a smile at least once or maybe one nice verbal interaction, but oh well.. we will live.

Oh how the mighty have fallen! My girlfriend used to adore this mini-chain of Americanized Mexican joints but now??

First off, we came here because I had received a gift coupon for my birthday. So it was a good excuse to come down the 405. Once we got here, the hostess at first sat us at a large but dirty table right near the soda area. How romantic. Remind me to make reservations for this spot for Valentine's Day. Of course, we hated it and we went back up to the hostess and asked to be moved to another booth. She kind of snickered and then shrugged her shoulders and said, 'I guess...' and moved us. What kind of reaction was that? I mean at least half of the restaurant's tables were empty. I think you could move us to a somewhat cleaner place. Don't you think?

And you wonder why their parent company is going bankrupt?

So we sit at our new spot for 10 minutes without anyone coming over to give us water, chips, anything. During this time, both me and my girlfriend start pulling out our Yelp apps reading bad review after bad review. I think that maybe at that point the manager or someone must've spotted us and said, "Watch out! They're Yelpers! They have magical powers and if we do anything wrong, they'll report us back to the Grand Yelpbah for having a hair in the enchilada! We must treat them well!". And next thing you know, a much nicer waitress come to take our order. Finally. Mind you, still no chips or water.

Finally got the chips five minutes later and then a minute later....the main course? Uh, didn't we just order this? So out comes sizzling fajitas and a plate of enchiladas. And then two minutes later we finally get the libations. Uh, something wrong with this order?

As for the food, it wasn't too bad. Actually the fajitas themselves were OK, but they only gave me three tortillas. Three! So I had to eat almost half of my fajitas as some kind of weird salad. Plus, no sour cream. In fact, the plate they gave me had a big space in it where the sour cream should go as if to say, 'you could have had this if you wanted to spend a couple extra bucks'. Oh, boy. I don't think I've ever been to a Mexican restaurant that made you pay extra for sour cream .Ever.

A guac was way too small and the beans were standard issue. Rice was OK but nothing great. My girlfriend thought they were too dry. She also was not a big fan of the enchiladas. Basically saying that they reeked of being frozen.

Chips and salsa were good. Fresh and warm as they should be. Bit too small of a basket though which just shows how many different places Acapulco is cutting back. Is Chevy's and El Torito doing the same? It's all in the family, after all.

And to top things off, when we received the check, it was for the previous order at the table! Funny, I don't recall ordering 2 lemonades or a Queso Appetizer. What's this? I already knew based on another review to be careful and read the receipt first for screwups like this. Now I'm glad I did or I would've been out more money.

Acapulco falls into one of those chains that used to be good or great and has clearly taken one huge siesta. Needless to say, I don't even think a free birthday meal will get me back here again.

I had a really good time here on Margarita Monday. Their margaritas are pretty damn good for under $3. After ordering a couple and sampling from my friends, I decided that Mango was my favorite. I also ordered their combination plate with the chicken enchilada and chicken tamale and the food was ok. Not great, but certainly edible. The staff were super cool and on top of everything. Our glasses never went empty and they were constantly bringing out more chips and salsa. So apparently their cantina turns into a club later on at night with a full on security crew and dress code. The people coming out of there did not seem too friendly but I would like try it out one of these days. Service was great and I was happy, I will be back!

American style mexican food. Quality is extremely lacking. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. For the prices you pay you might as well take your business somewhere else. I like homestyle quality food, and I don't often come to corporate owned restaurants, but I gave in since my friend works nearby and wanted to meet up for lunch. I couldn't eat the food, because it looked like the meal was prepared in a microwave, and all the textures were rubbery.

I think the only reason people come here is for the buffet because it's cheap, but doesn't look edible in my opinion.

Came here for a quick dinner with my bf and ordered the combo platter for two. The platter included two tacos, two enchiladas, two chicken burritos, two taquitos, two cheese quesadillas, beans, and rice. The enchiladas and quesadillas were pretty good, and the tacos were decent, but I didn't like the burritos and taquitos. It was a lot of food for the price.

It wasn't crowded at all, but service was very slow. The waitresses were friendly, but took too long to check on us and bring us what we asked for.

Not that this restaurant needs another bad review but here goes.

I came here with my husband recently. I had eaten shortly before so I really wasn't very hungry, but he was. We were seated for a full (at least) 15 minutes before we were even greeted by our waiter. In fact, two tables arrived after us, were seated, ordered, and received their food BEFORE our waiter even showed up. Their waitress was on top of things. Must have been nice.

My husband ordered a plate with a side salad and we decided that I'd eat the salad.

The meal itself was decent. Nothing special. We only saw the waiter again when we asked for the bill. (And we timed it - from the time we were finished with our meal to the time he came to checked on us was a full 20 minutes). Ridiculous.

We got the bill and he charged us for the salad as an entree plate not a side. It was a difference of $2.50 so we weren't about to make a stink about it, but my husband thought we should at least ask. The waiter informed him that I couldn't eat just the salad and expect to only be charged for a "side." So my husband asked, "So, if she didn't eat at all, and I ate everything, for the same salad, I'd be charged less?" He said, "Yes. I can get the manager if you would like."

And waste more time on your incompetence? No thanks. Our time is more valuable than $2.50 that we'll just deduct from your tip.

Ehhhh its AIGHHT. Its not as bad as I thought. Parking kind of sucks. But, I was still able to find a spot.

Went here on a Thursday during happy hour. I ordered a regular house margarita. It was better than I expected! My waiter was polite, but I felt bad for her because she was the only waiter throughout the whole "Cantina" booth. Complimentary chips and dip were surprisingly tasty.

    Got complimentary chips and dip.

Now, here's the one thing that kind of got me. I ordered two of the ".99 Tacos".

First off, the chicken isn't even shredded. Its like big pieces of rubbery chicken. Not much flavor to it either. The lettuce honestly looks like its from a salad, with shredded pieces of carrots. But, you get what you pay for.

This wasn't too shabby, but it isn't the best. I'll definitely be coming back for more margaritas, though.

This place gets busy because of Happy Hour and Margarita Mondays.

But the food is NOT good. Ugh, yuck. The food tastes like it came straight out of the microwave. Maybe people are too drunk to realize they are eating crap?

This place is only in business because of the alcohol and the fact that it's near CSUN.

I attended a CSUN MBA program happy hour here. What appalled me was how terrible the service was... now let me share some background first:

The restaurant was absolutely empty save for two patrons in the bar, and about 2 dozen CSUN grad students in the back of the restaurant. The group had been pre-announced to the restaurant, and by the emptiness of the restaurant they could have used the business.

Anyhow, it took over 25 minutes for waitstaff to take our drink orders, and other 15 before we saw the drinks. Last call was a few minutes after we got the drinks, and I'd say we probably could have squeezed in another round if the staff actually appeared to care.

Though I'll probably end up here again, due to its popularity among CSUNers.... my expectations will be low.

    What a 'crock.

I went to dinner with my roommate and we were going to chillis but we wanted to try something better. So we end up at Acapulco. It was not the packed but the place smelled good. We sat down at a booth and we were greeted by our waitress who brought us yes . We ordered the nachos and it was a big plate!!!! It was good dont get me wrong but we got full before our meal came. We drank water (we are college students cant spend so much) and then I had the Mex&Match: Enchilada and Taquitos with vegatables instead of rice and beans and a side of sour cream.

Altough we were a bit full we were still hungry!!!
My food was good and my roommate had the chicken and shrimp and she was full from 4 bites. Overall it was a good place for us to sit and talk and eat!

Good place but wont go their so often!

I was not very impressed with this place.  When we walked in on a Friday night and the hostess said it would be a 10 minute wait for the 2 of us.  We waited about 25 minutes before we were seated.  There were empty tables all around too.

The bar area was packed for karaoke night.  It was really loud with the bass thumping.  Seemed kinda excessive.

The service was okay.  Not great.  The bf ordered the Fajitas Gigante which include shrimp, chicken and steak.  It was very good.  I ordered the Tostada Compuesta which turned out to be a lot of lettuce and not very much shredded beef.  I was disappointed with that.
