Pre-made crust, contadina sauce, and delicious cheese. Sausage was good too.
Very bizarre place. The walls are covered with "words of wisdom". Here's
some words for you, whoever owns this place: What the hell are the beer taps doing back by the bathroom? Â Interior itself is like a Frank Lloyd Wright nightmare, particularly the tables and booths.
Very dark and old school, would probably be cooler and busier if the food were better.
Two months ago I would have given this place four stars, but because of our take out experience last night, I have to bump it down. Â
How can you mess up a sausage pizza? Â Put it on cardboard and hold the salt. Â
I'm sad to write this because my first experience in their dining "cave" was so memorable. Â The atmosphere is quirky and fun, and the pizza at the time was great. Â The Taco Bell-like tacos are a childhood throwback for my partner. Â That time alone kept us coming back for more. Â But after last night's disappointment, we might have to reconsider.
I've heard the Albano's Pizza Inc in La Porte is better. Â Maybe it was an off night for them, but when people put their hard earned money down on food, it has to always hit the spot. Â I hope things improve and I have to rewrite this review one day.
Best pizza in town! I've been eating here for all of my life. Heart shaped pizza's on Valentine's Day, how sweet?
My favorite pizza I have ever eaten. Dense crust with big, fresh toppings. Pretty good Tacos too, strangely enough. Carryout is super, eat in is a MC tradition. Same family has owned and ran this place since it opened. Lot to be said for that. Give it a try, enjoy!
I'm not sure what happened here, did the pizzeria change hands? Â The pizza used to be the best in town, but now it's little more than a Tombstone-like pizza. Â If you look at the back of the pizza, it looks like a pre-made crust and maybe the whole thing was pre-made. Â It was a very disappointing experience if you were planning on enjoying an old-school Albano's pizza...
The staff were very kind and attentive though!
Amazing pizza with friendly service, and INCREDIBLE atmosphere. Â Really, the place looks like a cave, and the walls are adorned with witty quotes. Â There are no windows. Â The lighting is warm and dim. Â The booths are amazing wooden slabs sticking out of the wall. Â I just love being here.
The pizza is delish, especially the taco pizza. Â The only drawbacks? Â Competitive, narrow parking lot and no free refills on soda. Â Get the lemonade, tea, or water and you can avoid one problem.
Second best pizza in Michigan City, but a CLOSE second. Â (To Roma's)
When in Michigan City and hungry for pizza I get the "masterpiece" from Albano's, their number is in my cell phone. Â I would rate it above average, and the only choice for pizza in Michigan City. Â It has a nice crust, not too much salt, just the right amount of sausage. Â I always order mine to go, because their cave-like, windowless dining room makes me claustrophobic.
Review Source:Really 3.5 stars.
The boy and I went in here not expecting much and found the place to be just average. We ordered pizza and breadsticks. Everything was fine. It was good. It fulfilled my pizza craving.
The service was fine, our order was taken quickly, we were provided plenty of water and our check came promptly. The waitress wasn't overly friendly, but that was fine too.
Price-wise...average as well, just what I'd expect to pay for a pizza.
There were some interesting pieces of wood with quotes on the walls...I'm not really sure why, and they seemed really random. I guess it added a bit of ??? to the place.
