Well-Lit Dive Bar with Excellent Burgers and Fries!

This place does have a strange vibe to it and I'm not quite sure just where the 'locals' crawled out from to get here, but they're definitely here and call this place home.  Regardless, the food and service is good.  And though a bit of a strange vibe in a small shopping center located a little bit off the beaten path, nobody bothers you.  They too are there to have a beer or two with some good grub.

We came here based on a raving recommendation about their tasty food and we weren't disappointed.  We've been here a couple of times and think they have one of the best burgers in town and they have a unique twist on serving up some yummy fries.  We'll be back...

4 stars for food and service
the weird vibe brought it down to 3

I don't get all the five star ratings for this place. Maybe we just went on a bad day... but based on our first experience, we won't be going back.

The place has a "weird" vibe to it with the mountain people type of regulars that hang out at the bar playing lotto all day between sipping their beers and stepping out to the patio to smoke. As far as the food goes, I had chicken and fish tacos and people, they are dirt cheap... but for a reason. They were bland, and tiny. The fish was fishy (my mistake for ordering fish from a place like this) and the chicken was tasteless. They looked like four tiny tortillas with some cheap melted cheese on top. Not impressed. My husband ordered a grilled chicken club type of sandwich and asked for added avocado. After taking a few bites, he realized that it wasn't even what he ordered, no chicken and NO avocado! It was a BLT!  By this time, we just wanted to get the heck out of there so when he waitress offered to go back and have the cook remake his food, he said he would just eat it. What REALLY pissed me off was the waitress did nothing to make up for her mistake. I waited tables for years and if I made a mistake I saved the customer by either not charging for drinks (we each had a beer) or at least take half off the charge for his dish.  Crappy tacos, two beers, a salad and a sandwich he didn't order... the biggest waste of $40 we have ever spent.

I KNOW on a Sunday afternoon on St. Patty's day, during March Madness, the "good" places like Schooners were packed. And yet, this place was dead. GO FIGURE!

Let's see how long this place lasts. I certainly won't recommend it to anyone.

This place is a little tough to see from the street but it is pretty chill when you go in.  It has a cool laid back feel to it.  I have been here a hew times and it was not packed but not empty either.  Just  a good amount of people.  The bartenders were cool and somewhat attentive.  I did have to wait a little bit to get my first beer but the people are all cool.  Food was decent as well.  not the best but good bar food.

We arrived in a bus - a team of hungry Volleyball players and coaches - and we were very happy we did.  The burgers were "awesome" - huge, juicy, flavorful, cheesy and fresh.  Having the toppings on the side, allowed everyone to customize their own.  I had a chicken sandwich and it was the BEST one I've ever had.  The chicken breast was gigantic and perfectly cooked with a nice, smoky aura provided by the generous serving of bacon in it.  I love french fries and have had them at dozens of places ranging from fast food to high-end places and theirs are as good and as generous they come!  Freshly fried, just the right thickness to be crispy and soft inside.
If I lived closer to the All Star Grill (I'm from Alhambra), I'd eat there several times a month.  They have a couple of dozen different beers on tap and although I don't drink, most people would appreciate the choices provided.  If you like good burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, good beer and great service, you need to try this place!

Obviously, food quality and cleanliness is not a priority at All Stars.  Burgers were below average.  Potato skins were cold in the middle, and the cheese was not even melted.  Table was still super dirty after the guy wiped it down.  I have tried this place a few times now and the results have been consistent.  This place is more of a dive bar than a sports bar.  Especially compared to other sports bars in town.

On a positive note (which is why I gave it any stars), the beer was cold and refreshing and the place is a short walk from home.

Have lived in SCV for less than 3 months and already we have gone here 3 times. And we will keep on going. The burgers are SO good, and I am pretty picky cause I can make a mean burger. But the best part is the good selection of craft beers on draft. Right now they have the Alaskan IPA, it's a black IPA and is amazing. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. This is quickly becoming a regular watering hole.

If you want to grab a beer and catch a game in a place with really good bar food, this is your spot.

Usually I don't like to watch sports at bars because you always end up sitting next to some drunken idiot who wants to tell you about how he would have played in the NFL if it wasn't for his knee injury (that and you're fat and slow), or about the time he went 4 for 5 in the church softball league championship game.  This place is different.  Family friendly and a laid back local crowd.  Favorite watering hole.

This place rocks. Good burgers and good beer.

Now its not a craft beer place but the beer they have is decent. The palce is a sports bar which isnt on my favorite type places to visit. The food though is the draw. The burger is awesome. Think about having a burger made to order with good ingredients and fresh home made buns, thick cut bacon, an egg oh yea!!!

Protip: Have the hangover, its great. Also their dressed up fries are something to talk about. Saugus fries, just like Animal style fries from in-n-out but in a bigger way!!

    This place is a jem!

Best burger in the SCV by far. Glad I found this place by accident. Needed somewhere to watch a Kings playoff game. 5 dollar Bud Light pitcher for the game, yes please. Went back recently and tried another burger and again it did not disappoint. It can get crowded but there's a reason, good food and good beer. Haven't tried anything else from the menu, but I don't want to.

Fun place to hang with friends to watch a game and the burgers arent half bad. Kinda salty but that makes you drink more beer, not a bad trade-off

Ordered the French Dip which took over 25 minutes to prepare.  Nothing to brag home about.  Friendly wait staff apologized for the length of time to receive  meal.  Probably won't be returning unless I have a couple hours to burn.

My husband and I really like this place.  Their tacos are very good and priced right. The stuffed jalapeño appetizer thing is sooo good. We look forward to visiting over and over again.

First time here and it is very good.  The owners I assume, are very nice and actually grateful for those that patronize the business.  I had the burger with gorgonzola and red peppers.  it tasted very good as were the fries.  Could tell that most of the food was made from scratch.  I also like the buns that they use for the burgers.  The only thing I can say is that the burger was more medium than med rare that I ordered, but it was still flavorful and that makes up for it.  A nice place, which is not a chain, to try.

This joint has top rate burgers, the French dip is great and the Go-Gi taco are very habit forming. The staff has always been friendly and the place is clean- a big plus in my book.
Keeping in mind that this place is a sports bar and not a trendy hipster hangout, it's a great place to grab an informal meal, some beers and watch whatever sporting event is on the tube.
As bars go, it is family friendly which helps keep the creeps and trouble makers going elsewhere, but it's still a bar and can get loud during TV games or when local sports teams gather after their leagues.
Again, the best burger in in the SCV and it can hold its own against any of the over rated, premium burger joints around LA.
The prices are not cheep, but any place that grinds its own burger and makes their own buns, needs to charge a little more. But don't compare it to fast food, mundane mall spots, or corporate chain restaurants, it's none of the above.

I live right around the corner from All Star Sports.  We have seen this place change throughout the years, but now perhaps, the location has found a tenant that can stick it out.

All Star Sports is my go to place for watching games in public.  It isn't as chaotic and loud as other sports bars.  They have good beers on draft and a good menu.  I've had the burgers and chili cheese fries, and both are delicious.

If I had a complaint, I would say that sometimes the service is a bit slow, but it doesn't bother me because I'm in no rush, watching the big game.

I give this 4 stars because I've had better food, and the service again, is a little slow at times.   The food is good, but I think a tad pricey for the location.  I am a man of value.  My favorite thing here is that it isn't TOO crowded.

However, take Vinh's advice below and work the deals.  Taco specials, they have $1 bud lights during games.

You can bring your kids here because they have an arcade for them.  Families come here from time to time.  Personally, I'm not sure why people bring kids to bars, but whatever, they have ammenities for the children.

Even after all of the new sports bars that have opened in Santa Clarita, All Star Sports Grills is still the best in the valley. They have the best selection of draft beer, the best food, and a great crowd.

The new renovations give the place a better feel. The bar is lower and has more seats. There are new bigger TV's so you can enjoy your favorite sporting event with a great burger and a beer. They now have some dart boards, a juke box, and an arcade game. The place is a little on the small side, so if they're a huge sporting event get there a little early so you can be sure to have a seat.

The food is great. $1 tacos on Tuesdays and Wednesday and tasty 1/2 pound burgers. The only knock I have is that the past couple times the food has not been as good. The burgers seem to have shrunk and the portion of the fries/slaw has seemed to decrease too. I'm not sure if they were serving burgers bigger than a 1/2 pount before, and this the true size, but the food is still top notch.

I'll be back plenty soon to enjoy my Laker Playoff basketball.

This is my brothers favorite hang out and I have been wanting to give it a try, so I finally made my debut at All Star... I started with the Jalepeno bomb, it was definitely not what I expected, probably better. I imagine it small and spicy.. But they were huge and filling... And nice with the spice. Very good. I recommnend sharing that as an appetizer with friends and getting something light to go along with it. I also had a shock top, and you really cant mess that up, so I enjoyed that completely. I ordered the All Star burger, and I wasnt a fan. It tasted like I was eating 4 pieces of patty. My preference is easy on the meat, but it was filled with meat. Otherwise pretty good. If you like the taste of garlic you will love their burgers, most have a garlic spread on them.  My boyfriend had the Guacomole burger and he loved it. It looked good to me, but I was stuffed from the Jalepeno Bomb. Next time I head in, I will try the wings, and I am looking forward to the Au Jus roast beef sandwich. The atmosphere was is worth coming back to, everyone was really cool. Servers were pleasant, TV's everywhere, not really a bad seat in the house, very family oriented. Young and old crowd. I likes.

Randomly came across this place looking for a new place in SCV. Reviews looked good, so we came to check it out. We had a couple beers, three tacos, and a burger. The burger was great, tacos were great, especially for the price. Tacos were 1.50 or a dollar depending on what kind you get. All three were good.

We just came for the food so I can't review a game experience but they had enough tvs.

Great place for good food and drinks. The hamburgers are big and made with seasoned beef. The burger selections are really good and original. The service is good, I believe it's run by a family. There is usually a younger crowd, and big TVs all over the walls with various sporting events. It's a decent place to have a drink and a burger without having to dress up, or brush your hair.

Had the Hangover Burger. Angus beef patty, roasted peppers, garlic sauce, onions, hash browns and an egg between a garlic Kaiser roll served with tasty seasoned fries.  To say it is divine, is just not enough. Loved it!

Let me preface with the staff is fantastic and the food is top notch.  BUT....

I've been here 3 more times since my original review and I haven't been so happy when I left.  In fact, after my last visit just this past Saturday night I actually came home and took a Xanax, followed by 20 minutes of meditation just to get my shoulders to drop down away from my ears.  Not exactly what you want when you go out to relax.

First, the bar is now the brightest spot in the bar.  They switched out their old bulbs for high-powered fluorescent bulbs that could power a parking lot.  So sitting at the bar makes you instantly feel like you're under interogation.  Not good.  Bars just shouldn't be that bright.

Next, the staff needs to step up when it comes to kids.  I do think it's great that they're kid-friendly and have now added a full kid's menu to the regular menu, BUT...  when the kids are shoved into a booth at one end of the restaurant while the parents are boozing it up at the opposite end of the restaurant, who didn't think Children of the Corn was going to be reenacted in the booth?

I finally asked the kids to stop jumping on the furniture, which just made them angrier.  I've owned a restaurant and have tried to ensure the environment was comfortable for every patron.  Yep, I've said, "Would you mind asking your kids to use their indoor voices?"  And will never forget, "Would you mind asking your son not to bounce his basketball on our neon bar signs?"  Sometimes parents have gotten so good at tuning out their brats, uh, I mean kids, that they're oblivious to how out of control their kids are.  A quick reminder is usually all that's needed.

It's unfortunate because I really liked this place and had high hopes.  But I now have to avoid sitting at the bar and try to stay away from kids jumping on the furniture.  I'm sure I won't be back for a while.

They make the best burgers!!! I have tried a few other entrees and everything has been great so far! I like what the new owners have done to the place.. Its a good atmosphere, although the music can be a little too loud at times.

Went to watch the baseball game tues. I had a few $1 tacos and a $4 beer... Happy I got a beer to wash down the yuckie dry tacos. I recommend if you are adventurous enough to try them, make sure to ask for a bottle of hot sauce so they taste like something. The servers were nice and made you feel like you were hanging out with your friends and that was nice. There are about 9 TV's, the place is a bit small and no speakers playing the games, so you cant hear any of the games. The bartender said  there is usually loud music playing, so they don't bother turning the sound on any of the games....this brings me to why I am giving them 3 stars. I wanted to watch the game and hear it, but all I heard was girls drunk talking, no music and a very distant sound to the ball game.... I wont be back

This place really surprised me. For such a little hole in the wall location it really delivered.

The burgers are AMAZING. Umami Burger status but only half the price.

They have a big beer selection and the prices are great. Pitchers for 8 bucks? Cans for 2?

It may not be the classiest joint ever, but damn was it good. Definitely what Santa Clarita needed.

The only thing that makes me sad is that it's way out Bouquet Canyon. If only it were closer so I could go more often.

LOVE this place.  It's so great to have a place so close to home with great food and really friendly owners and staff.  My husband and I go here an average of 3 times a month and really love it.  They're tacos are awesome and burgers are huge and always made just the way you want it.  Reasonable prices, great food and friendly service.  What more can you ask for?

Still the go to sports bar in the valley, again even if it really is the only sports bar in the valley.  With a bit of remodeling the place no longer feels like a cheesy chain bar but more mom and pop and has more TVs and they lowered the bar so you don't feel like a midget at a giant's table.  Prices can add up quickly but it's worth not having to deal with bro's, drama and only macro brews on tap like everywhere else in town (i.e. these guys have Stone IPA, Longboard Lager, Alaskan IPA etc.)

    Quick tips:
    - On game days they fill up quick so show up early if you want a table
    - Taco Tuesdays/Wednesdays
    - $1 off draft and wells before 5pm
    - Best burgers in town

On the skewed Santa Clarita curve, solid 4.5 *s

I've been here a few times over the past two months and plan on coming back much more frequently.  While the location of the grill is far from ideal it is more than made up for by the quality and sheer deliciousness of the food.

Steve, the owner, is an incredibly nice guy.  We were the last patrons in the restaurant and asked him when he closes up shop, "When the last customer leaves."  Well done Steve for having both an awesome attitude and food so good that even at 9am I want to order a burger.
