There's not a lot in Dublin but Lupe M. mentioned there was a karaoke place in my 'hood where you get your own room. I gathered a small group and we went one Friday night. I recommend getting at least five people because if you spend an hour there, you only spend about $5 a person. We ended up staying for two hours so it was about $10 each total which isn't bad. I called ahead of time to ensure my price and my room. They let you bring in your own wine - just no beer - make sure to get an ok from them first.
We also brought in snacks and food from Round Table.
The song selection is pretty random and often times the machines are a bit odd. It would stop after every song until we got the hang of the controller. Keep a list of songs in your head so then you can queue them up when you get there.
Staff were friendly and you can hear others singing when you use the bathroom.
I dunno the prices of the other items since we brought our own stuff. If you're looking for something fun to do that won't break the bank, stop by Amador Karaoke. It's a bit hidden - in the walkway next to the Dollar Store.
Also, if you want cheap eats, stop by the Dollar Store before they close for some treats.
I learned about this place from a friend. Â I had a birthday party here for my 15th year old daughter. Â Making the reservation was easy. Â I picked the biggest room they had. Â The price was $80 per hr. Â That night the room fit all 40 of my guests. Â We brought our own table that fit perfectly in the corner for our food and drinks. Â
The song selection was nice. Â It was a few things we wanted that wasn't available, but overall we made it work. Â We ended up staying 30 minutes longer than my reservation and they were to accommodate us and just charge us the extra 30 minutes.
Overall we had a great and very fun party. Â We all plan to return again for any future parties.
TERRIBLE SERVICE, kind of.
I went here for my 18th birthday and it started off super fun! I made reservations before it for 10 people. And the owner said it would be 60 dollars for one hour in a private room over the phone, which was fine. We would all split it. Then that night, after a night of fun and karaoke, we came out of the room, and this snobby Asian lady at the counter tells us its 100 dollars when the guy, (the owner), said it would be 60. I was angry because my teenage friends didn't have that much money to spend! We don't have jobs!! I told them a set price before this night. So me and this snobby lady get into an argument and she's screaming at me! Which isn't how I want to be treated on my birthday!!! We ended up paying the 100 dollars and stormed out unhappy.
So then the next day, I called and demanded to talk to the owner, the one I spoke to before this incident. And he was really understanding and he mailed me a 40 dollar gift certificate, which was really thoughtful. So I did appreciate that.
I would never go back here again, regardless. I work in customer service and if I talked to anyone like the way this lady talked to me, I would get fired!
