First things first: If you ever come here, you should definitely get (or sample) the Drake's Nyack Jack. It's barley wine aged in Jack Daniels's barrels, which is intriguing enough in itself, but the taste is something you've probably never tasted before in your life. The complexity is amazing, and it's probably the most unique drink I've ever tasted in my life.
I really like this place. It's a no-frills kind of beer bar, with wooden benches and flat-screen televisions. There are a few bar stools too, which is nice if you want to chat with the bartender or some of the other patrons (everyone's super friendly!).
The brews of the day are listed in big plaques on the wall, and you can always ask for samples if you're not sure which one to get. I really appreciate that the prices and percentages are listed right on the plaques, so everything's really clear. They also have beer flights, which comprise of four little taster cups. Prices are reasonable, the selection of beers is good, and the place is comfortable and clean.
Altamont Midnight Session: $5

After another patron sitting at the bar recommended this to me, I tried a sample and really liked it. It looks like a dark, but it's surprisingly light, and the flavor is pretty complex. The aftertaste disappears really quickly though, which I liked, since the bitterness seemed to come towards the end.
Beer flight (left to right): Port Brewing Wipeout, Green Flash West Coast IPA, North Coast Brewing Scrimshaw Pilsner, and Bear Republic El Oso: $7

Out of these four, I liked the Bear Republic El Oso the best, closely followed by the Scrimshaw Pilsner. The Green Flash West Coast IPA was way too bitter for me, but I usually shy away from IPAs for that reason anyway. My friend, who really likes IPAs, said that it was really good though.
If you're just looking for somewhere chill to hang out or catch up, this place is great. I think it can cater to just about any age group (over 21 of course), and I'll definitely be back.
What is not to like? Â They show what they have on tap, what's coming in, fridges for your brew to take home, flights of beer, board games sports, decent music, local tastes, and best of all, super dog friendly!
My fiancee and I love to frequent this place as much as possible. Â They allow outside food and also are close to a few spots within walking distance! Â Clean, fun facility ~ Â We have never had a bad time here and these guys that work here are far from beer snobs. Â If you want opinions they'll let you know. Â If you have no idea what you want but tell em what you like they have great suggestions. Â
Please stop on by if you get a chance to swing into Dublin. Â You definitely will be glad you did!
