First things first: If you ever come here, you should definitely get (or sample) the Drake's Nyack Jack. It's barley wine aged in Jack Daniels's barrels, which is intriguing enough in itself, but the taste is something you've probably never tasted before in your life. The complexity is amazing, and it's probably the most unique drink I've ever tasted in my life.

I really like this place. It's a no-frills kind of beer bar, with wooden benches and flat-screen televisions. There are a few bar stools too, which is nice if you want to chat with the bartender or some of the other patrons (everyone's super friendly!).

The brews of the day are listed in big plaques on the wall, and you can always ask for samples if you're not sure which one to get. I really appreciate that the prices and percentages are listed right on the plaques, so everything's really clear. They also have beer flights, which comprise of four little taster cups. Prices are reasonable, the selection of beers is good, and the place is comfortable and clean.

    Altamont Midnight Session: $5

After another patron sitting at the bar recommended this to me, I tried a sample and really liked it. It looks like a dark, but it's surprisingly light, and the flavor is pretty complex. The aftertaste disappears really quickly though, which I liked, since the bitterness seemed to come towards the end.

Beer flight (left to right): Port Brewing Wipeout, Green Flash West Coast IPA, North Coast Brewing Scrimshaw Pilsner, and Bear Republic El Oso: $7
    (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=oY92HQwYoChQzuhSOdFtDg&userid=1ug7EtH4blOzzbqqkmkenA">http://www.yelp.com/user…</a>)
Out of these four, I liked the Bear Republic El Oso the best, closely followed by the Scrimshaw Pilsner. The Green Flash West Coast IPA was way too bitter for me, but I usually shy away from IPAs for that reason anyway. My friend, who really likes IPAs, said that it was really good though.

If you're just looking for somewhere chill to hang out or catch up, this place is great. I think it can cater to just about any age group (over 21 of course), and I'll definitely be back.

What is not to like?   They show what they have on tap, what's coming in, fridges for your brew to take home, flights of beer, board games sports, decent music, local tastes, and best of all, super dog friendly!

My fiancee and I love to frequent this place as much as possible.  They allow outside food and also are close to a few spots within walking distance!  Clean, fun facility ~  We have never had a bad time here and these guys that work here are far from beer snobs.   If you want opinions they'll let you know.  If you have no idea what you want but tell em what you like they have great suggestions.

Please stop on by if you get a chance to swing into Dublin.  You definitely will be glad you did!

SO GREAT to have this local gem in Dublin. Greg is always so nice and polite. The place is always full of really great people, and the vibe is super friendly.

Super COOL bar where you can get a variety of LOCAL and BELGIAN style BREWS. The owner, Brian, is super nice and knows his stuff. It is in the middle of this living complex (apts or condos - not sure) with other establishments and it seems to be a local hangout of sorts. People come in, have a beer, walk to the fridge in the back and get something to go. They also let you come in with PIZZA from next door (Extreme Pizza) or get THAI food delivered for 10% off and they have GAMES to play as well.

    Def Recommend!

Cool place. Great tap selection and an owner who knows his beer. My only complaint would be that they need to work on the ambiance a bit. Someone else mentioned its a work in progress so hopefully thats true. I dont want to sit at picnic tables, and maybe dim the lights a bit. Other than that, super quality and will be a new go to place for me.

Almost forgot, you can order food from the local restaurants in the Tralee shopping center and get it delivered and eat there which is nice.

If you like craft beer, this is the place to drink it in the East Bay. Come in, have a few, chat with the owner. Super quality local place.

I have been waiting for this place for years!! I have lived in the east bay all of my life and I love going to places like the Trappist in Oakland and OL in Walnut Creek but I never liked having to drive 30 min for good beer.  This place being in Dublin is great!

For the beer they have a great choice of Belgium style beers to your local companies!  12 taps and a good amount of bottles in the fridge.  I love the vibe of this place its not to tavern like were you feel like you are on a romantic date with your guy friends cause you are lit by candle light but not to over the top bro like a wild wings were everywhere you turn there is a TV.  They have three small TV's with sports on for those who like that but it does not distract you.  The only thing that could make this better is if they serve food, but they are new so I can see why its just beer for now.  They will let you bring in food from any place around though which is great! I highly recommend this place if you enjoy good beer!

An awesome laid back taproom, Caps & Taps is a great addition to Dublin serving up a well chosen selection of craft beer on draft and by the bottle.  The folk here focus primarily on CA brews with offerings from Anchor, Altamont, Sierra Nevada and North Coast just to name a handful.  Though the place is a bit of a ways out for me, it'll definitely be a regular stop for me in the future whenever I'm in the area.

Cool stuff, great start for these guys.  A good selection of all local (a lot of Tri-Valley Brewers inlcuding Shubros and Altamont) brews.  It is obviously a work in progress but I can appreciate the vision they have, maybe it is becuase I sat at the bar and chatted with them for a few hours.  Good for Dublin!  Caft brerers and sellers of the world (or NorCal), unite and take over.

Fun spot for a few drinks with friends before (or after) dinner.

They have a good beer menu with plenty to choose from (They have a great, dark, chocolate beer which was fantastic; but I forgot the name). Very casual environment, picnic table decor, and you can watch the game while talking / laughing / drinking with a group.

This is a a fun destination.

Great craft beers! About 12 local brews on tap.

Caps & Taps doesn't  look like a craft brew pub at first glance. a 2nd and 3rd glance will confirm this is a bar with 12 drafts on tap. the wooden tables and chairs look
out of place here, no doubt they are misplaced from some picnic grounds.

Caps is a work in progress. unexpected costs ate into the buildout funds. by my 2nd pint, i didn't notice the cafeteria layout of this craft brew shop..

    pour:
    -sierra nevada stout (6)
    blindfold hops too bitter
    black ipa more smooth
-firestone walker - merlot oatmeal  stout (6).
doesn't taste like the other oatmeal stout, still tasty

    on draught:
-sierra, altamont (livermore), drakes have the most drafts here
-draught beer availability listed daily on website-awesome!
    -friendly, hospitable people here
-owner/bartender is gungho about doing the best he can to satisfy his drinking patrons.
-no food served here. it's ok to order/bring in outside food.

Had a great time here with some buddies of mine. The owners (Brian and Greg) really know there beer  and they support our local businesses too. So for a great local brew and some down time check this place out (try the altamont ale). One more thing I though was really cool. Although they don't serve food there we were allowed to order from the local eateries and enjoy our food in there establishment.  Fantastic!

This is an excellent craft brew pub--I've had the pleasure of going to Caps and Taps twice since their recent opening, and I plan on returning often.

There's a few things that really set this place apart. First, the location is great for Dublinites. There's really no brew pub in the area walking distance on Dublin boulevard. The pub is located in the brand new Trallee Shopping center, so it's smack dab in the middle of Dublin and is just a quick stroll from most apartments. The building has relatively sparse decor, but it's homey and evokes the feeling of a English pub (with the bonus of being fresh and clean) with its wood and brick interior. For those of you with designated drivers, there's also ample parking in the shopping center.

Although limited to just a 12 taps and a small fridge of bottles at the moment, the quality of beers is better than many establishments with two or three times the selection. There's an emphasis on unique local beers from Livermore, Concord, and other spots around the Bay Area, as well as some rare beers from midsized breweries such as Firestone and Sierra Nevada. As a beer aficionado who's always looking for something new, I've often had most of the beers on tap at other establishments. Not so at Caps and Taps...both times I have come in there are plenty of interesting new brews to try. The turnover of new kegs and bottles is great and they keep it fresh by not buying the same thing every time. It sounds like they plan on extending their taps to double the current amount, which would hopefully increase the variety even more.

The owners, Greg and Brian, are passionate about beer and it shines through in all they do. They're more than happy to talk about the different beers as they pour or give you a small sample. They really know their stuff, but in a friendly, approachable way. Newbies to the craft brew scene won't feel intimidated or mired by snobbery at this joint.

I can't recommend this spot more and I can't wait to go back for my next pint!

Awesome new craft beer spot. They have I think 12 taps, and minus 1 or 2 that are more widely available craft beer, the rest were all local beer in the Bay Area which is awesome including 2 taps from Altamont in Livermore. It's always good to see local businesses supporting each other. Also have a fridge of bottles that you can buy and either take home or have them open for you there.
For the more extreme beer geek, like myself, you can take bottles and have bottle shares there too. The owners are knowledgable craft beer guys, and you can tell genuinely care about the customers and the craft community. Outside food is allowed and encouraged. Can't wait for the grand opening events.

Awesome craft beers on tap and for sale in bottles. They encourage outside food and recommend 1 of their neighbors Extreme Pizza who will walk the pizza over. Very friendly, highly recommended!

This place is great!!!  Dublin needs some new, fun, cool places like this!  The micro brews are wonderful - great selection.  The owners - Brian and Greg were very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and have a passion for what they do.  YOu can bring your own snacks in  and enjoy some great beer with a great atmosphere!
