The Double Bacon Cheeseburger at AMP 150 is a great looking burger. Ohio Cheddar, Benton's Bacon, truffle aioli, house pickles, and an onion bun. The rich flavors of the bacon, cheddar, pickles, and aioli make for a great burger. This burger had some smart flavors, however its shortcoming was the fact that the two beef patties were overly cooked and dry. This led to a very dry profile for the entire burger. I found myself chasing each bite with my drink. If you get a juicy one this burger might be quite a bit better!

Alright so the company had a training session in Cleveland and shipped a ton of us from all over the country. We were not allowed to rent cars and I was feeling lazy a few nights this week and decide to order from AMP 150 downstairs in the lobby. Now yes I know that hotel food is usually no bueno but I had eaten here last year and remember it being very solid.

Now let me start by saying that they have an awesome beer selection here. A ton of microbrews which is surprising for a hotel restaurant as that is not usually the case. Now over the course of the week I ordered the, Duck Confit Nuggets, Pork Belly, Pear Salad, French fries, mushroom flatbread, and the wings. Honestly I am not going to go into much depth because it's pretty straightforward. All of the food is very bland here with not much flavoring. Even the pork belly which looked awesome but ended up being very bland and found myself unable to finish the food. The bbq pork flatbread was just terrible and was not able to have even more than one bite of it which was unfortunate because I was pretty stoked about it.  The folks here are really nice and the alcohol selection is great which is what holds this joint together but I will definitely find other options to actually each food. Such a shame because I felt that food was very good last year so this decline is disappointing. Hope they can change it up to get back to where they were!

We had previously been to AMP 150 about two to three years ago and had an average experience. Some friends recommended it for a Monday night dinner, and we were glad to try it again. However, it was again a similar quality meal and experience.

The restaurant is in the hotel lobby of the Marriott, but does a pretty good job of masking that. The decor is better than most hotel restaurants, and there is enough screening and scenery to make it seem nice. It's a bit bright for my taste, but it's well done.

We were seated promptly (but were waiting on the other couple to join us) and immediately our server came over to tell us about the drink menu (but not take our drinks, which was fine considering our dining partners were not there yet). Well the other couple showed up and it was 15 minutes before our server returned at which point we were just bluntly asked what we would like to drink (no greetings, explanation, et cetera). Our drinks came out quickly and then another 10-15 minutes to come back and ask if we were ready. On our end, we were not but promised we would decide immediately and asked her to come back in two minutes. That two minutes turned into 15 minutes again. This was a pattern throughout the night as the service was rude, short, and poor.

For food, we started with the cream of mushroom soup which was a bit on the heavy side - almost paste like instead of a smoother cream sauce. We then ordered the shrimp n grits plus the double bacon cheeseburger with a side of roasted cauliflower. To the point a few others, it's a bit bothersome to get a burger with zero sides for that price. It was a solid burger, good flavor, nice bun, and very good housemade pickle, but nothing to write home about. The shrimp and grits were flavorful and well done. The cauliflower was another disappointment as the pieces were very small to begin with and it lacked the roasted carmelization that can really make cauliflower great.

Between the average food, subpar location, and poor service, we will likely not return.
