Amsterdam Bar & Hall

The bathrooms here are the stuff my nightmares are made of.

But.... it's a live music venue in the ghost town of Downtown St. Paul, so this alone earns 2/3 stars on its own.

The other star?  From the fries.  FRITES!  I am so very much a fan.

I went here for a storyslam event. Great little bar. Lots of beer choices, amazing fries, and wonderful staff.

Finally went to this place last night.  The occasion was The Suburbs playing a free concert.

I liked how large the space is.  Plenty of beers and liquors to choose from.  Two separate bars.  My whisky was served in a good sized glass with plenty of room to slosh the drink about without any spilling over the side.   Small tables and long padded benches at which to sit and stand.  Decent sized stage at one end of the bar.  Enjoyed the sound of the music overall, although that probably had the most to do with the band's sound guy.

Gotta come back here to try their happy hour specials sometime.
