  We own 40 acres in Curlew, which I haven't visited in many years.  But I visited this year and had the opportunity to visit Republic and Anderson's groceries.  We used to bring Groceries all the way from Seattle to Curlew because we were scared to buy meat and veggies as the quality normally was not good....  But no more!  In fact Anderson's Grocery is nicer than most stores in Kent/Auburn area.  I felt like I was in a fancy grocery store in Seattle.  And they had Mallo Cups!  My favorite East Coast Child Hood Candy.  So if you are a Coaster hanging out in Ferry County you now have a place to Shop!

  I've been shopping at Anderson's since the mid 1990's, when we began vacationing in the Republic area. Over the years, I've seen this store expand its line of groceries to include organic vegetables and milk products, salad kits, and fresh baked La Brea breads. They also increased their varieties of pasta, started carrying gourmet ice creams, and widened their selection of beers and diet drinks. In the early years, I'd bring my favorite camp-out foods with me from Seattle. By 2005, I was bringing empty shopping bags and coolers and filling them at Anderson's. Now, I'm a full time resident and I love shopping at this store. The staff are helpful and smiling and they always have something pleasant to say at checkout.  The store has a deli that stocks reasonably-priced, take-out fried foods and snacks (e.g., fried chicken by the piece, deep-fried burritos, potato wedges, egg rolls, etc.), pre-packaged pasta salads, fresh rotisserie chicken (barbecue or lemon-pepper versions in the morning, and garlic or barbecue in the afternoon). One day a week (call ahead) they offer teriyaki rice bowls at lunch. They also have a self-service soda machine in the deli, with the best diet Coke in the area (for diet-Coke aficionados).
