Andy's is overpriced, overcrowded, and not worth it! They're skimpy with toppong or mix-ins and their custard is not the best. I'd rather go to Braum's ( and that's saying alot)!

James Brownie Funky Jackhammer. So good. Get it! It is concrete with brownie and peanut butter chunks swirled around with a center of hot chocolate fudge in the center. So tasty but definitely bring a friend to help finish it....it is waaaay too big for any normal human being to finish it!

    Pros:
    - Tasty and they are super quick with service!
    - Delicious chocolaty and peanut buttery goodness :D

    Cons:
    - I had one huge brownie chunk....just wish that there were bigger chunks in it

    Why I gave it a 4.....
The James Brownie is sooooo good! Everyone needs to just try it once if they are in the area! Just wish that they had somewhere to sit around there. And I wish there were bigger brownie chunks in it too.

A Springfield staple any time of year.

Great frozen custard. Easily accessible location. Only outside dining, but they put up heaters and have some sort of wind blocking tarp thingies that block the worst of the wind.
Their radio ads make me want to kill myself and actually kept me from trying it for several years.

i'm in on the seasonal flavors.  Wish the price was a little lower.  Family of 4 or 5 is 20 bucks.  They should have the slogan "so fast you'll freak!"

Very good. I ordered the mint chocolate concrete and greatly enjoyed it. The place is very busy, but I felt we made it through in good time considering the number of people in the drive through.

Stopped by here over the weekend anticipating I wasn't going to like it I live in Salt Lake and have a favorite frozen custard shop near my house...But I am delighted to report these guys are AWESOME! The service was friendly and very fast. Also, whoever dreamed up the jackhammer deserves an award frozen custard with a filling of your choice right down the center, amazing! Thank you so much Springfield for your hospitality and great frozen custard.

Oh Andy's how your Jackhammer and Strawnana Sundae tempt my taste buds and make me salivate like Pavlov's dog. Ok enough daydreaming about that sweet sweet cherry filled peach concrete...aaaaaaahhhh. The service was fast and friendly, the frozen custard is not as rich or as dense as I am accustomed to but instead is lighter and you can have more than 3 bites before you need to put it away. We ordered smalls which were still pretty damn big, I can only imagine what the larges are like. I could barely finish the one had but the maraschino cherries in the center of a peach infused custard (where the flavors were no so bold as to overpower each other vying for your attention) was almost too much for me. The combinations you can create there are almost endless and you can try a different variation every time. Remember what you told that girl in college and "don't be afraid to experiment baby".

Over the past couple of years, I've become a big fan of frozen custard, particularly concretes. So when I saw this place near my hotel (despite it being around -10 degrees outside), I knew I would have to stop by and try it out.

I went with my standard concrete mix - M&Ms and coconut (yes, seriously - try it before you knock it). It was ready blazingly fast. I had barely finished ordering it, hadn't even dug out my cash yet, and it was already being handed to me. Not quite sure what to make of a concrete made with such speed.

The end result was ok, but not as good as the concretes I've had from other custard places. So decent and edible, but I doubt I'd return here when there are so many other custard places in Missouri to try.

I crave Andy's. Too bad we live 1,500 miles from one... But everytime we visit family in MO we are sure to visit good ole Andy's. The concretes are delicious, but my favorite is the turtle banana split! YUMM! Never disappointed  when we leave- until my custard is gone!

Everyone I know seems to be a fan of either Shakes, Andy's, or Freddy's frozen custard, and says the other two lack flavor.  I disagree.  I think all 3 custard places taste great and are really similar, but they each have their strengths and in my opinion Andy's is great because of their key lime flavor.  It's just the right type and amount of key lime flavoring, light and creamy and doesn't jump out at you like a fake lime.  Even the color is very pale green and appealing.  If you like real key lime pie, try a key lime concrete from Andy's, you will not be disappointed!

Am I crazy?  It seems like most of you will think I am.  This is okay.  I don't really see how it is that much different than Dairy Queen.

I'm from the East Coast, so maybe I think custard is something else, but I didn't think this was nearly rich enough, and more or less tasted like Dairy Queen.  Except, Dairy Queen has sprinkles.  I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to ice cream, and after hearing how good this was, I just wanted my plain ice cream with sprinkles.  No dice.  How can you not have sprinkles?

Anyway, not bad, its decent ice cream, but not the nectar of the Gods I thought it was going to be based on other reviews.

Let me start off saying I'm from St. Louis and with a Ted Drewes just blocks from my house, this may be a little biased. However, I will say Andys was really good and I had the great pumpkin(which is my usual from Teds). It didn't have as much pumpkin pie as I'm used to and it also seemed to be loaded with more pie crust than I care for. My friend had some pretzel caramel thing that was awesome though. As an ice cream and frozen custard lover, I'd come back in a heartbeat, I just don't think for the great pumpkin. Oh and if we just talk frozen custard and not specialty items or added ingredients, Silky's is by far is my fave.

The custard is good, but everything at Andy's is very similar to dairy queen in that you get swirls and other mixtures to include with your custard.  I prefer the dairy godmother in del ray, va.

I don't think custard can get any better.  I like to take a pint home and squish it in between two cookies, yum....

What can I say?  It is the most amazing frozen custard I have had....  Thick, creamy, delicious!  You can't go wrong!  Enough said...go!!

Only the best stuff around. Mid-October to Thankgiving has to be the best time - Pumpkin Pie concretes! I look forward to it all year and buy quarts for standby throughout the year.

Plain and simple:  Andy's is phenomenal.  This might make me a traitor to my St. Louis-birthright, but it's the best frozen custard I've ever had.  Better than Ted Drewes, Fritz's, Silky's...

Andy's custard is so thick and creamy, but the real star is the fact that they offer a "Jackhammer," which is something I've not been able to find at other custard-ery.  A Jackhammer is basically drilling through the center of your custard, so there's a reservoir for any delicious filling you might want.  Hot fudge, strawberries, caramel, you name it.  Their uber-popular James Brownie Funky Jackhammer is phenomenal, although any combination of your choosing will surely not disappoint.

If STL custard places could do the Jackhammer technique, I'd consider rethinking my "Number One."  But until then, I'm an Andy's girl through and through.

Andy's is awesome. Nothing better than an Andy's Concrete on a hot summer night. There's always a line but if there wasn't it just wouldn't be the same.

Andy's is THE place for frozen custard. The stuff is probably the closest thing to proof of God in the Universe. This, of course, would be highly contested by the AOG crowd, as they believe that a book is proof. I don't know, I think Drury might actually be talking about instituting a new curriculum called SFGAFC, or the Search For God in Andy's Frozen Custard. Just rumors?

Delicious! I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but Andy's is so good, how can I resist?! The prices are a little high (what isn't these days?), but the quality and taste are well worth the expense. I'm particular to the Snow Monster myself, but my wife suggests the flavored soda, claiming the raspberry is the best thing in the world. Andy's always runs a tight ship --quick service, clean restaurant, great treats!

this place is like CRACK! i used to get the butter pecan at the Andy's on Glenstone around the corner from my [then] house. i'd never heard of such a thing as frozen custard until i moved to Springfield in 2004. i was an immediate convert to it's addictive qualities. i love that i could just drive-thru and be back home in less than 10 minutes. i tried other flavors but always went back to the butter pecan. it was so pecan-y and butter-y. YUMMY!

Great frozen custard.  I had one of their concretes with Oreo and it was good, although not the best I've had.  There are tons of things you can get mixed in so I feel like you could go back several times and have a completely different taste each time. I could see how this place could be popular around here.

This stuff is freaking amazing.  I don't care how cold it is outside, but it's never too cold for some Andy's Frozen Custard.  Growing up down in TX and loving my Blue Bell Ice Cream, I was skeptical of the whole "custard craze" of the northerners I met while in Missouri.  But, Andy, you make some damn good Custard!

There are lots of options on what you can mix in, I've tried a few different things but in the end it's all about the original custard.  Try a few before you settle in on a favorite, it's cheap enough to make it a regular stop around town.  Avoid the largest size... trust me... it's too much for one person!

Even if you are just passing through as you transgress the old Route 66, this is not to be missed!

This place is the southern Missouri equivalent of St. Louis' Ted Drewes. Personally, I think it's better.

I like sugar, but this is really so sweet. I've had it three times. Each time I have to run to the bathroom afterwards. It literally makes me sick to my stomach everytime.  Sorry to all you Andy's fans, I think they could use a little more milk, or a little less sugar (or both).

I grew up with this Andy's within walking distance from the house. It has to be one of my most favorite frozen treats. I have trouble usually deciding in between  the Andy's Ozark Turtle and the James Brownie Funks Jackhammer (a peanut butter and brownie concrete with the center filled with hot fudge.  They have a huge selection and toppings to pick from to come up with any treat just the way you want it. Except for the long lines in the evenings, you can't beat the place
