Ohhh Annette's... you've come through in the clutch for me time after time. Specifically, the times I wake up at noon with a headsplitting hangover after a night of wild antics at one of Atlantic City's fine night club establishments. Â
What you need though is a little improvement, actually you need a lot of improvement. Â Always serving up a solid diner-style breakfast that always hits the right spot, but that's pretty much where the appeal ends. Â The place is dingy and old in an antiquated, dull way.... not the vintage "this place is an old school gem" type of way. Â The drinks come out in cheap, 'caferteria-style' plastic cups and for some odd reason I always seem to get them lukewarm. (don't they have an ice machine?). Â Last time I went, one of my buddies got a glass of milk with his omelette and it was clearly sour or sitting out on a warm counter all morning. Â
I've never tried the lunches but the food looks very inexpensive and low quality-I'm not willing to deal with those day long stomach cramps you get from food like that. I feel bad somewhat ripping this place apart, but I honestly have never had a bad breakfast there. Â Whether its pancakes, eggs over easy, or an omelette they have all been quite enjoyable. Â There's also not many affordable breakfast options in town that are open in the off season (Oct.-April pretty much). Â
Annette's is like a good booty call, of course there's plenty of things you can find wrong with the whole situation, but you'll keep coming back as long as you're getting what you want out of it........breakfast.
I don't know what it is, but every single time I go here I get the worst service. Whether its waiting around to get another cup of coffee, to waiting for them to take my order, to having to flag down a waitress for the check, to having my order messed up, I think I have the hex on me, since they seem friendly to the many locals who frequent it.
The chow is okay diner food, nothing spectacular.
Damn Fayza, you just had to be the first! It's a roadside diner with a kitschy, beach vibe recommended by a local and offers a good cheap breakfast to offset a wild and outrageous night at the casinos-well, until Fayza channeled Ophelia in the bathtub. Standard egg omelettes and supermarket bread toast paired with cute secondhand mismatched coffee mugs that tasted a little better served by extra perky former cheerleader chicks who made me feel old. Â There was a custard spot across the street but I was too full and instead we decided to take pictures of Fayza caressing the veggies-at-the-beach mural on the side.
Review Source:We went in to Annette's after a long night of partying it up in the casinos. Â By partying it up I mean retiring to our hotel room after midnight and watching Family Guy. Â Annette has small beach town charm and the food isn't bad either. Â All of us ordered some kind of egg dish, french toast and loads of coffee. Â It's easier to access the restaurant if you have a car. Â It is far from the casinos to actually walk there. SO if you have a car and you are in AC go down to Annette's and have some good breakfast.
