We sat at the bar and had a fantastic evening.  I had corned beef and cabbage and my husband had shepherd's Pie.  We both loved our meal.  We had a few beers and it was around 40$ with tip and taxes.  I even had a doggy bag.  I'm Irish and was proud to be one  :)

Love this place! $3 drafts and live Irish folk music Monday evenings. They also have a great relatively inexpensive sirloin on their menu. Had it a few times now and good quality each time.  I like crumbled blue cheese on top of mine ;-). Also have a great now homemade cheese slaw if you like swiss cheese to nibble on for an appetizer served chilled. Their onion ring appetizer as well as their pub nachos are also really good.
My favorite salad there is the Wexford steak salad.  Some of their other items have fallen a little shy of expectations at times, but overall their traditional bar food is up to snuff.

Do you like Shepard's Pie?  Yes?  Then you MIGHT like this place.  Everything else is a huge mess from what I can tell.

Atmosphere is nice, but not worth it.  The music is too loud and highly obnoxious.

Absolutely love this place!  I enjoy going to a bar and having friendly bartenders with quality beer and food.... I've never been disappointed.  The couple different bartenders I've met genuinely take an interest in their customers and make you feel very welcomed and at home.  Always get the crab dip and a couple pints of Smithwicks... Can't beat it!!

My parents live in Roanoke and love Annie Moore's, so we always head here for dinner when I visit.

Annie Moore's gets three stars because when they get a plate right, it's done well--but try to mix it up by ordering something new and you'll probably wish for your old mainstay.

Things they do well include the wings, fish and chips, and other traditional bar food.  I also really like that they offer Guinness (of course) and a few variations:  black & tan, snakebite (Guinness & cider), blacksmith (Guinness over Smithwick's) and others.

Some misses include food items that try to reach outside the 'bar food' realm:  shrimp and grits, milk-braised pork, etc--these sound good, but they forget to mention things like the pork is absolutely coated with cumin, an ingredient not even listed in the menu description.

Service is always kind and cordial, which I find to be a common (but still much appreciated) trait of the area.  They have live music most nights, amp'd just a bit too loud for the size of the restaurant.

Nice atmosphere but that's it. Ordered a lager beer which came way to cold with no head at all no taste either. Then asked what the house speciality was - fish & chips. Two small portions which were greasy enough to lube my car. The "chips" were under cooked, over saltedTexas fries. The side of cole slaw was tasteless. The waitress was nice enough but had to be reminded to bring extra tarter sauce which tasted like Marzetis. But hey, the malt vinegar was ok. I guess Irish food & good beer are not a Roanoke/Salem Virginia commodity. A 6 pak of Bud & a fish sandwich & fries at McD's would have probably been a better choice.

Our favorite place for a drink now that they have Original Sin back on tap. Music on weekends is a big plus as well. Irish nachos and the smoked salmon are good appetizers; the fish and chips are flavorful. Most of all, we enjoy the neighborhood friendliness of the bartenders and wait staff. They make this a place that regulars love.

The humus plate was refreshing  but a very small serving. The zucchini and squash spears served with it were a nice surprise. The pita chips are homemade.

I had the fish and chips. The fish was fresh and not greasy but the chips were completely unexceptional, which seemed odd to me considering they go to great measure to serve a good quality fish with what I think was fresh made tartar sauce (very tasty).
My wife had the turkey & Brie wrap. She said it wasn't bad but nothing she couldn't make at home.
My  son said his turkey sandwich was ok but could get a better (and bigger) sandwich at the New Yorker.  His homemade chips were good - a nice touch - again something unique/different served with something unexceptional.

The decor is classic dark wood paneling. the bar is very pretty and the seating was comfortable. Unfortunately the first smell to hit my nose was one I associate with old fry oil. It didn't put me off obviously, but its not what I wanted to smell.

Turkey Club, Turkey & Brie Wrap, Hummus plate, one Guinness and two teas added up to $51+. With a little attention to detail this meal would have been worth it, but unfortunately it is highly unlikely we'll be back.

My favorite place to just kick back and chill at the bar thus far in Roanoke. Monday nights are amateur music night, and they play some pretty good Irish tunes. The food isn't top notch, but for bar food I'd definitely say its better than most.

I had been to Annie Moores a couple of times before and wasn't all that impressed, not disgusted by any means but I had no plans to return until a friend invited me there for an after work coctail.

We got there, ordered our beverages and a hummus platter as an appetizer.  While the hummus and carrots tasted fine the zuchinni and squash strips seemed a little squishy.  After that we ordered the potato cake appetizer.

The potato cakes were quite bland to my taste. I only consumed about 3 or 4 bites of it before my stomach told me that was enough.  I left fairly quickly there after barely making it home before I became violently ill for the next 6 hours.

I am not sure if it was the half of a drink I had, the hummus or the potato cake I had that caused my illness.  What I do know is that I will NEVER return to Annie Moores.

The food is so-so, the setting is so-so, and the service was on par with the rest. Portions were small. The weirdest part was how the pub/bar decor, soccer on TV, and oldies music playing didn't fit together.

Annie Moore's is where it's at. It has the laid back feel that an Irish Pub should have with a dash of sophistication. I love that about this place. I remember going the first week it was open. Me and a couple buddies sat down and didn't know which beer we wanted. We were able to sample a shot of each beer. They all were good.

The food is amazing. The wings are top notch and The Dubliner Hamburger is one of my favorites. All the apps are on point and the deep fried milkyway bar is the nice end to a meal.

The staff has always been great. I've never had to wait for anything and have always had a great experience there.

Part of the charm about this place is that it can wear many hats. It can be a great date place because of it's calming atmosphere or a place to hang out with your friends and have a few beers and wings. The live music that frequents the Pub also gives it the feel it needs. I'm a huge fan of this place and miss it very much.

Brunch as decent. Eggs Benedict about 5 different ways was the extent of the menu. Service and atmosphere were fine.

We've become regulars here in the three years that we have lived in Roanoke.  I have had menu items ranging from the deli sandwiches and burgers to a few of the fancier entrees.  The fish and chips and shepherd's pie are probably the best dishes I've had there.  The appetizers are good, too.  I don't believe I've ever had a bad meal here.
The beer and spirits selection is  good.  They don't have everything under the sun, but they do have a good selection of quality beers on tap and in the bottle.   They also have a broad selection of single malts and Irish whiskey.
Finally, the service, both at the bar and in the dining room has always been friendly and professional.

Down to the grit you have a place with tons of potential. A full wrap bar that seats about 20+ people is probably double the size of any bar I've sat at.

Then you have a full menu of bar food from Fish and Chips to Guiness braised ribs. The food is good enough to raise above the stigma of bar food, and there is a full range from the healthy salad to deep fried.

The music scene in Roanoke generally could use some work, but I admire Annie Moore's Irish Pub taking on the challenge to host bands and help add a new spectrum of entertainment.

There is a solid brunch menu for the weekends and I would recommend their Reuben or ribs.

Annie Moore's Irish Pub is a decent, albeit sanitized version of an Irish watering hole. Decent food and beers - it's a safe bet.

They have a good lunch specials with many items in the $7 range. I like the fish and chips here. Yes it's an incredibly safe choice but it's fairly good here. Other nice choices include some hearty shepherd's pie and traditional corned beef and cabbage. Service here is friendly and attentive

Here's the thing about Annie Moore's - it's really clean. Now you either like it or you don't right? Personally I think it takes something away from the charm of an Irish pub but if all you're looking for is a place to grab a bite at lunch, then come on in and while you're at it, grab a pint. Slàinte.

I needed a beer.  I badly needed a beer.  Fortunately for me, a group of people was available to hang out and allow me to shed the appearance of alcoholism.  We decided to try out this place.

The beer selection was pretty decent and most of the pints available for happy hour were between 3-4 bucks.  Not horrible.  We split an order of wings and also shared some crab dip with crustinis.  The wings were ok, nothing particularly special and definitely not spicy at all.  They weren't wimpy but then again also not all that big.  The crab dip was pretty good...decent amount of crab and good flavor.  For my entree, I went with the corned beef and cabbage.  I didn't find it all that great.  The food was rather under-seasoned.  It lacked flavor.  I definitely won't be ordering it again.  I did snag a bite of the Shepherd's Pie and it was pretty good.  The dish had a lot of meat and I don't think you can ever go wrong with layering meat and potatoes and cheese.  For dessert, a few of us split the fried milky way with ice cream.  I would highly recommend this dessert.  The chocolate was a nice melted consistency and the caramel complimented the ice cream.  Definitely a nice way to finish a meal.

Service was good.  The decor is that of an English or Irish pub.  Parking was easy, which is why I would prefer this place over anywhere downtown.  Take this place for what it is...a decent place to get an alcoholic beverage with hit or miss food.

I've been here a couple times, once in the summer of 2007 and more recently in February to see some band. I've never been impressed.

It is a place to drink, which is a plus. But the decor and environment are kind of tired and lifeless - half-assed TGIF novelty signs with an Irish twist decorate the wall.

It's not disagreeable or unpleasant. But it's not a place I really want to go.
