I want to give them ZERO but it won't let you. The reason?? They didn't have our order. At all. As in, nope we did not make it.
This was our first time trying this restaurant. Well, kind of.
I used the online ordering option to place our order. It gives you a confirmation number.
Drive to the restaurant (it's not close to us coming from Lawrenceville all the way across to other end of Hopewell but have been meaning to try them since we're not too thrilled with the other local options)
The idiot at the counter gave me a blank look when I told him I was there to pick up the order. He mumbled something about their fax not working. I said no,I ordered it online from the web page. He kind of looked around but said no we didn't get it, it doesn't work.
THEN WHY DO YOU OFFER THE OPTION OF ONLINE ORDERING??!!!?!
So much for that!
"Do you want us to make it for you"? Â Ummm, no. That's why I ordered in advance, I'm not going to sit there for 20 minutes for you to start making entrees I ordered 25 minutes ago!!
Thanks, so much, for wasting an hour of my time, and I had to then start all over and order food at another place!!
Kevin and I met up with some friends who had been wanting to have dinner at Antimo's. Although we live only one town away, I admit I had never heard of the restaurant and was eager to try it out. They are apparently known for their hand made pasta made by a very eager to please man who sounds like it just came over from Italy last week. We was charming and very talented! All 4 of our meals were delish, especially the appetizers. It's a bring your own bottle but they do sell local Hopewell Valley Vineyards wine (my favorite).
My husband wants to go back and try the pizza and we hope to bring my mother and father in law for dinner soon. If you are in the area, it's worth a trip and the prices are very good given the quality of the food. I'm looking forward to eating outside once the weather gets nice.
This place sucks. Â Phoned in my order from Skillman then left to pick it up. Â When I arrived there was a young girl behind the counter standing next to a pizza that was burned beyond recognition and had a bewildered look. Â We stared at one another for 10 seconds before I finally had to say I was there to pick up a pizza that I ordered. Â Without hesitation she said it was not ready yet, even though I phoned the order in 25 minutes prior. Â So I grabbed a seat near the entrance and watched this old clown making homemade pasta on a makeshift table. Â The health department prohibits any food preparation outside of the kitchen area.
Another 10 minutes passed and I asked for my pizza. Â This unsupervised and clueless teenager checked the pizza oven, looked at me and asked if i didn't mind a well done pizza. Â Wtf, the pizza was freakin burned. Â Told her i didn't want it even if it free. Â Suddenly a man comes by and tells me he'll make another one. Â So now i have to wait another 20 minutes. Â No offer of a discount or offer of a free soda while i wait. Â The guy cuts the badly burnt pizza into slices and placed it into the display case and i heard him say something sarcastic to the old fart. Â He prepped my pizza and instead of popping it into the oven, he first carried it into the back out of sight. Â Seconds later he reappeared and placed it in the oven. Â He either spit on it or something else. Â I just walked out disgusted. Â Never again...this place sucks. Â Bad food, bad service and bad attitudes. Â If you notice, of all the pizza placed in Hopewell, this is the lowest rated. Â They SUCK.
This is my first yelp review though I've been using the app for years. Needless to say, I felt compelled to share my thoughts. First off, we walked in and waited about 6 minutes to be acknowledged with a party of 3. A waitress walked by carrying food, asked us if we wanted to sit outside or inside, then asked us to follow her after we told her we wanted to sit outside. We proceed to follow her and she tells us to sit where we want. We picked the only clean table amongst a choice of 4 other empty dirty tables. Things got worse. The service is horrible, the food was mediocre, and I will never go back. I honestly can't say 1 nice thing, and that's a bad feeling. It seemed like there was no supervision, there was no hostess whatsoever, and a huge miss on the obvious things (bringing water, bringing napkins, didn't share the specials, didn't bring a pen for the check, and the list goes on).
Review Source:we've been coming here for over ten years and, sad to say, will use them very little in the future. Ten years' patronage says a lot but the service has become really bad and the food quality is uneven. Â We've had a few undercooked pizzas in the last few months and Bennie just says "sorry, that's just my brother." Â Despite that, I kept going back, avoiding the pizza and going for their still-excellent fresh pasta.
I walked out last night because of rotten service; we sat outside and the wait staff ignored us for at least 10 minutes. Â I went in to complain that we had no service and were surrounded by dirty dishes, no sparkling water like I ordered and no soup in sight, one guy came out and removed SOME of the dishes and left a warm bottle of sparkling water on the table. Â We had to get our own water glasses, silverware and napkins. Â Another 10 minutes of nothing happening and I walked. Â My wife felt compelled to pay for the water we drank and they couldn't even charge correctly; we got a large bottle for the price of a small.
One couple stopped me in the parking lot and asked where Antimos was and I pointed it out but told them our experience and they went to Brothers Moon (our favorite) just like we did.
$26 for pasta, no service, wait staff that doesn't understand English (It's unfair to do that to the staff) and now mediocre food.
Guys, you're driving a really good business right into the ground with your careless attitude. Â And don't give me that stuff that you were busy; you weren't.
Skip this place and go to Francos, Blue Moon, Bell and Whistle, Nomad, The Peasant Grill (TPG)l, the new Thai place right next door to TPG, whatever. Â Even the new Chinese take-out in the same location is better than this place.
Went here on a Friday night to try their pizza. We were not disappointed. The place is small and it was packed. We each enjoyed a salad, me a Ceaser and her a house. Both were fresh and just the right size. We each had an individual pie. Plenty of toppings and a very thin crust. There was plenty to take home. We will be back again to try a dinner as the ones being served around us looked great.
Review Source:So I eat here about once a week - be it for convenience or pleasure. Sure, there's the blue bottle down the street, and other greats a short drive into the heart or Princeton, but there's something that keep calling me back to this restaurant... It's like a little whisper in your ear that you know is right and will only be satisfied once you give in to the nature of the call.
Simply put, a small restaurant with charm that lies not only with the food and the setting, but the people. An owner who recognizes you from the moment you walk in, only the second time you've been there. This is the definition of small town feel.
There's as much heart in the service as there is in the food. Consistently good and superbly priced (I've never seen another medium calzone that can fill a large pizza box). Hint: try the vodka rigatoni!
It's changed ownership from the previous restaurant of Sansones, but only upped the ante. Perhaps I have bias living so close and visiting so often, but few restaurants give me such pleasure as to never having to worry about a bad experience.
