The good: my friends like to come here after the bars to dance and sober up. They do allow 18 and over to come in because they do not serve alcohol.
The bad: the employees and the owners are dicks. I saw the owner beat up several people on different occasions when they get rowdy in line. They charge $5.00 cover.
I don't like this place at all. Bitchy employees and expensive just to sit n chat with my friends.
One of my favorite places to go in Chico!
It's great for a late night stop after a night out at the bars, since they stay open until 4:00am on weekends! Perfect for a late night dance party to work off the alcohol from the night. And around midnight it ends up being the place to be as it's always packed full with lots of people.
But it's also a great evening spot to check out after a nice dinner. You can come and relax, listen to music, and enjoy some nice hookah smoking! They don't serve alcohol so anyone 18 and up can join. I believe you can bring your own wine, for a small corkage fee though. The owner is very friendly, and definitely someone you want to get to know.
Overall I love this place, the decor is authentic, and the shisha is always fresh.
Honestly, I think it's pretty cool.
Especially, if you're under 21, it's the only place where you can come and dance,18+, in that area, that I know of.
It's like this...
It's about a medium sized room and the play relaxing music, while you smoke your Hookah. As soon as you walk in, there's a "DJ booth" dead center and couches along the wall. The staff is pretty cool and you'll almost always see them on the dance-floor, security too, just DO NOT piss them off.
You go in and place your order and everything, but after 10:30, the DJ walks in and starts the music, the lights dim and it's time to dance. The DJ is pretty good, Techno and Hip Hop. Top 40, some underground favs, and he's good for requests too.
The place has a LOT of potential, even though it doesn't look that great. Â It's open till 4 and all the drunks stumble in around 1 or 2.
Downside...
People don't dance!!! They just sit down and smoke until about 12 or so.
Limited seating.
Floor isn't that big.
Just come with an mindset to have fun, and depending on who you come with, you'll have a good time.
Try it a least once.
After a fun night of drinking and dancing my friends didn't want to go home and this place is open til like 4am, so I figured what the hell. This is the first hookah bar I've been to, but I've smoked hookah at home tons of times.
The good:
The place is nicely setup. Comfortable seating along the walls and a dance floor in the middle. The staff was somewhat helpful too.
The not so good:
Our shisha tasted like burnt crap. There's no other way of putting it. Sisha has all the awesome fruity/sweet/etc flavors for a reason-so you can taste them. All I tasted was a burnt flavor. The guy working there tried to set up the coals differently, but that didn't help. The hookah would either not hit at all or burn the shisha. He offered to setup a whole new hookah and bowl, which I appreciate, but it was the same story with that one. I'm extremely particular about hookah and if it doesn't hit right I don't want to smoke it.
One star for the comfy setup. One star for the helpfulness of the staff. I can't go much higher than that if I'm not enjoying the smoke.
When this place first opened up I was excited to go there, the decoration on the inside is awesome, but the customer service ruined it for me. I told them a few times that the hookah was too harsh and they never fixed it, and it was harsh from the second i got it. I ended up going back again one night on the weekend. They didn't serve us any caps to protect the mouth piece :( and the flavors weren't that good, and it doesnt seem like they take great care of their hookahs.
If you are looking for a place to dance at after the bars close, or if you're not 21 and want to dance then this place is pretty kool. As far as the hookah goes...I'm not to sure about it.
This was my first public hookah experience ever. Although I really didn't smoke, the ambiance was really nice. The owners have the place decorated in a traditional, Arabian-esque style, and they play remixed (kinda Hip-Hop) Middle Eastern tunes.
I loved it!
The owners were definitely helpful. They cleaned our coals when needed, but gave us our space otherwise.
Plus, Arabian Nights is open late.
Pretty great first experience, if I say so myself.
(Oh, and one final note: if the Hookah Spot wasn't your cup of tea - whether it was too "college-y," loud, or whatev - definitely try this place out.)
