Went here in early December, so shortly after it opened. Â We do plan to go back at some point and see how they're evolving now that it's been a few more months, and I'll edit accordingly at that point. Â
Service was friendly but inexperienced. Â Food was good, but not great. Â We sat at the grill which was fun and entertaining. Â Shared the combo platter to start. Â I loved the sausage, but the Provoletta was just too much cheese, not much else. Â We'd order the sausage by itself next time. Â I ordered the Portabello Platter for my entree, and the boy got the NY Strip Steak. Â I thought his steak was a little flavorless, despite being cooked on the wood-fired grill. Â My dinner was satisfying, but nothing thrilling. Â Just a bunch of grilled veggies, which I love, but I could do the same thing at home at a fraction of the cost. Â I would like to see more of a focus on local/seasonal vegetables. Â My meal came with zucchini and summer squash, which was a little strange in December.
Drinks were strong and tasty. Â No water was provided which is a negative for me, but some was brought out when we asked. Â Another flaw was the timing. Â We were still eating our appetizer when the salads came out, and had barely touched our salads when our meals came out. Â No apology was made for this, despite our obvious surprise. Â Dessert was some kind of chocolate chip cookie pie. Â Not impressive, clearly not made on-site, and just totally un-memorable.
Went to Asado with 5 friends for dinner last night. We shared some appetizers including the provoletta, ceviche and stuffed mushrooms which were from the specials menu. The provoletta was the favorite. Grilled provolone topped with herbs, red peppers and onions served with warm bread and chimichurri sauce. Very nice. The ceviche was fine, not my cup of tea though and most agreed that the stuffed shrooms were good. 5 of us had the bricklayer steak and one had Tilapia off the specials menu. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My steak was tender and tasty and cooked to my specifications. One in our party ordered his steak medium rare but it came out closer to medium well. when this was pointed out they apologized profusely and happily brought him a replacement that was prpeared correclty. I had the mashed potatoes as my side along with a salad. The taters were buttery good. The desert was Reese's pie which was probably store bought and adequate. All 6 people in our party were very satisfied with their meals. On the basis of the steak alone, I would return. Very warm atmosphere and a friendly staff were also a plus.
