Ashbary Coffee House

Been here a couple times, and I'm not too excited about it,  Its a hit and miss; I would definitely add a couple stars if it wasn't for the bad service... I understand "the customer is not always right", but the person working the register always is?  I haven't had too bad of an experience past a little snootiness, but I've seen the way he speaks to the other customers, and it is almost ALL of them he is so unacceptably rude to!  That gentleman is so arrogant, that poor kid... He thinks his job getting paid minimum wage is something to be proud of and credible enough to talk down to other people.  A word of advice?  Go to school or something and get productive with your life because, despite the fact that you're there all the damn time, you clearly haven't even gained the capability of doing something as simple as handing out cash, pretending to smile, and doing your damn job.  Is that so hard?  I almost wanted to speak up for some of the other people quite a few times.

The owner must have no idea he is driving business away.

This is my "I need to get out of the house" retreat. Working from home definitely has its moments of "if I sit at this desk one more time I will blow up this house" feelings.  I usually come in the middle of the day. It's quiet. Great music in the background. No frills; just the way I like it. Just had a panini which was fantastic and coffee was hot and fresh. These stand alone coffee houses have all but faded away. Next time you need to get away from it all, drive down Archer Avenue and come here to relax and support a great local business trying to stay afloat. Love this place and all its quirks.

Ashbary's is the perfect place to chill out during exam week. The crowd here is a little hipster, but not enough to scare away anyone attempting a first time visit. The staff is friendly in a way that keeps with the whole vibe of the place. They're not their to give you perfect service, they just want to give you good food, coffee, or shakes and leave you alone.

The best thing about Ashbary's is the ambiance. They have tables, couches, seating in front of a tv, a deck, and plenty of games. Forgot to bring a book with you? Check out their book shelf filled with classics and a random spattering of books you've never heard of.
