Aurelio's started as a staple in 1991 at Western Illinois University. The pizza crust is unique in that it has a bakery style crust which generally is crispy and light.
The sauce is also unique in that it is a sweet based red sauce that is very northern-italian.
On the evening we ordered out, it was delivered to our hotel near by. Pizza is a funny thing because it it great food to order for delivery but always tastes many times better dining in. This was to be the case on this evening. Our pizza was soggy but none the less being that there is few chances I ever get to have Aurelio's - I'll deal with that!
The rest of the family - not. They are all health nuts and this pizza is traditionally always greasy. While that works for me - not necessarily other people.
You couldn't keep me away but I may have a hard sell next time we're in the area - which is 3 weeks away.
