I usually write long-winded reviews, but this is rather simple location offering simple foods and there's nothing wrong with that, but it means there's not a whole lot to say.
We stopped in because we were on a chicken tender binge and luckily this was one more location along the #44 bus route that looked like it could offer a batch of tenders to some bus travelers.
We made it inside and had to gawk at the menu printed along the wall. Â Sure enough, there were some chicken tenders! Â We placed our order through the bulletproof glass (trips to the southside have dulled our senses a bit to this technique) and watched the chef do his thing.
Fresh chicken, freshly battered and then fried when we ordered it! Â That's the definition of homemade food!
We kept our distance from the vagrant who had made his way in and was yelling things through the bulletproof glass about job applications or something, which led to generalized yelling, promptly ignored by the staff, but hard to ignore when you're in the room and NOT behind that thick glass, ya know?
We eventually got our food passed to us and headed back out to the bus stop to continue our voyage. Â The tenders were quite good, and we may be back sometime if our travels along the #44 take us to that area once more and we want some fresh chicken.
If you happen to be in the area and are used to the bulletproof-glass ordering system, I'd recommend giving this place a try. Â Maybe next time I'll go for the namesake Steak and Lemonade!
