Very friendly staff. The food is very good here, especially the pulled pork,my favorite, as well as the chicken. Pies are good as well. Definitely make trip back...

I'm only giving it 2 stars because the brisket, potato salad and pinto beans saved it from being no stars. The chicken is boneless, skinless chicken and is extremely dry. The sausage was amazingly average. It should be against the law for a restaurant in Texas to serve food like this  and call it BBQ.

When the best part of the meal is the sides, you know you're in trouble.

My mom and I stopped in on our way back to Dallas from Canton's First Monday Trade Days.  She was raving about the BBQ and I had no say in the matter - we were stopping!

She got the 3-meat plate with ribs, brisket, and sausage, plus a side of green beans and a side of coleslaw.  I got the pulled pork plate with a side of green beans and a side of pasta salad.  Who knew our plates also came with a side of ungrateful attitude by the employees?!

I asked the guy "how's the pulled pork?"  Others might have said "it's delicious!" or "it's really moist" or "if you're looking for pig I prefer the sausage," but this guy just shrugged while staring at me.  Ooook...

So I went for the pulled pork plate anyway, and asked for a lean portion.  The pork was very dry, but likely because I asked for the lean portion, so that's probably not their fault.  It was tender and tasted really good with the bbq sauce.  My mom enjoyed her plate, as usual.

The cashier, who I think is the manager, charged us for two drinks even though I said I wanted water.  When I corrected her, she acted like it was a pain.  I also heard her being extremely rude to a customer who was in the drive-thru.

After my pork plate, I decided to try one of their fruit pies.  The young lady at the pie counter was very friendly and told me which pies they had in their case, and that I'd have to wait about 15 minutes if I wanted them to make me a pie they didn't already have prepared.  I selected the blackberry pie after lots of discussion with the girl about which ones were the best.  It was SO good.  The crust was flaky and there was a lot of blackberry filling.  It tasted just like a blackberry cobbler, like the girl said.  I'm so glad I don't live near these pies or else I'd eat them every day.

    4 stars for the food.
1 star for the pie employee.
-2 stars for the God-awful bbq employees.  I don't care how good your food is, if the employees suck then why would anyone want to go there?

Had the delicious ribs with just the right amount of spice..  they also give you more sauce if you like the heat. Turkey was my second choice and I'm glad because it was Smokey wonderful!  Location is a bit run down.  Needs a good cleaning (dust everywhere).. but BBQ doesn't need to be fancy if your there for the food. I would come back if I'm ever traveling through again!

Want fried pies that will definitely have you licking your fingers?  Stop here!  I can't remember why I stopped here the first time.  The second time, I was on my way to Tyler, TX and in a terrible mood when I was all of a sudden delighted to see signs for Baker's Ribs.  I had to interrupt my road trip for that!  The third time, I took with me family who grew up on home made Mississippi fried pies and even they fell in love with these pies!  I had some of the food and I don't have any complaints.  It's just that the pies REALLY stood out for me!

Stopped here for dinner on the way through Texas on my winter road trip.I got the two meat combo plate with chicken and sliced beef. The chicken was skinless and served off the bone which I wasn't expecting (how's about a nice piece of chicken with the skin?) so it was a bit dry, but the bbq sauce helped a lot.

The sliced beef, on the other hand, was perfectly moist and delicious and I wished I'd ordered two serves of it. Yummy. The beans were really yummy also, flavorful and  a bit spicy and I enjoyed the fried coconut pie too.

I totally understand that we have a ton of BBQ places to choose from all over the state of TEXAS......but, on our way to Shreveport to visit family, my hubby didn't want to stop at our USUAL..Dairy Palace (which is DELICIOUS, by the way).  He had a bad hankerin' for BBQ!  We exited off I-20@ Canton, and whipped in @ the Baker's Ribs drive thru...we were in a hurry....and we were SOOO GLAD we stopped here!  Hubby ordered a chopped beef sammy & I ordered the pulled pork sammy.  We spit the dill potato salad....we ordered 2 HUGANTIC homemeade apricot pies...and we were on the road again.  HOLY MOLY.....those were the BEST BBBQ sandwiches we'd ever eaten,,,& we've definitely eaten our share of BBQ !   The homemade apricot pies were perrrrfect!  We will definitely be stopping @ that Baker's Ribs little hole in the wall restaurant when we're haulin' down I-20 to Louisiana.  It's so worth the stop!  I will say, it's Much Better & different  than the Baker's Ribs I've eaten @ in Dallas!

Brisket was good, but the chicken was dry.  They also use chicken breast only, no dark meat.  The coleslaw was good.  The beans were just beans.  The servers at the counter seemed to be doing a job.  No personality and just wanted you to order and get along.  Seating was pretty crowded.  The tables were so close together you could not have two adults sitting back to back at the tables.
