Balefire

We wanted to make a reservation here (not knowing that it would not be very busy in the first place).  After days of calling, the phones went unanswered and messages were not returned.  Probably should have taken this as a sign to go somewhere else...

Anyways, we showed up there and were easily able to find a table that would accommodate us.  The atmosphere is very inviting and they did have a decent beer line up.  I ordered a cheese hummus platter which was okay and a meatball sub that was bleh.  Happy hour deals were decently priced!

After our first round, we all opted in getting what the bartender called his specialty "Jolly Rancher" or something around those lines.  The bartender brought the tray of them out, but only after spilling half of them - getting on my jacket and on the floor.  One sip and that was all I could take - definitely did not resemble anything close to a Jolly Rancher.

Overall, I was not impressed and will not be coming back.  I could see potential in this place, but it just was not happening for me.

It was okay. It wasn't the worst place on earth but it certainly wasn't worth much more. I guess that's a bit harsh but there isn't much to brag about when so many other places to pick from.

The space and environment is interesting. It could be really really cool... but it wasn't.

The food... not to be desired. Our table ordered all sorts of items and nothing even looked that great. So I didn't order.

The drinks, although decently priced for happy hour (till 630pm)... wasn't all that great.

The customer service, well I would let you know how it was, if they didn't all congregate around the bar the entire time and talk amongst themselves.

I will admit, that I could see this place a happening spot with a bit more ambiance, customer service and getting rid of the gross table cloth sort of things. Change up the menu a bit and pay attention to the details. Maybe lighting the candles in the holders... or rather actually putting candles into the holders on the table for a start. The place has potential, but maybe this was just an off night with the wrong bar staff. So my overall view of the place is. Meh.... I won't be back. Sorry Balefire.

So if you are looking for a spot to meet friends and have a nice time, maybe pick another place.

Woah, not what I expected. Bacon wrapped poppers smallest ever. They were out of olives & of most booze for cocktails on menu. At least they were showing the Football game but it was only on the point of sale system. Wine ok but way too expensive. Bummer but hey, at least they're really close to the Comcast Arena.
