In the past we have loved this restaurant but last night we waited for about 20 minutes for our kids meals and when we got home the orange chicken was rock hard the chow mien not cooked. I don't know if these are new owners but I am sitting here at 3 am with a stomach ache from their food!
Disappointing! Go somewhere else this place has lost it's touch!
This place was clearly an Italian restaurant before they moved in but they left everything alone, down to the music, so they get a knock on atmosphere. I also hate that it's too cold in there. It's uncomfortable eating there. The food however is pretty good, albeit slightly pricey for a take-out place. I'll go back.
Review Source:I like the food, but watching the lady behind the counter drop a bunch of plastic spoons on the ground, pick them up and put them with the others.... I was amazed that she did this in front of me....
Last time I EVER get soup from that place, I am glad my food was cooked already, because after saying something about dropping the spoons. The lady behind the counter gave me the evilest eye ever.
Was so in need of delivery and decided to call these fools out of desperation. Â We moved to a location that's miles closer to them and they said they wouldn't deliver to us? Â But they delivered when we lived further away? Â THESE PPL ARE ON CRACK!!!!! Â Truly don't know how to run a business.
Review Source:so beyond mad!!!!!!!
my friend & i went there on our hour lunch break today. it took them 20 minutes before they took our order. we sat there the remaining lunch hour realizing that we werent getting served. but a couple that came in after us and ordered to go, got their food. at this point i asked the waitress (who didnt bother to come to our table to apologize for the delay with our food) if she even made our food yet, she didnt say anything........so i told her dont bother, our lunch hour is over and walked out!
such a joke, we were speechless!!!!! how do u run your business that way??!! hire more people or shut down your business! i dont care how good they cook, theres someone down the street who will at least acknowledge your presence! such a shame!!! we didnt even have enough time to get food elsewhere, so annoyed!!!!
dont bother eating there if you want to be ignored during rush hour! they dont know how to treat people apparently! losers...........good luck staying in business, at this rate people will eventually see what we saw, just unacceptable!!!!
sincerely,
"irate, annoyed and plain out pissed off"
Driving around San Clemente in this area, I had no idea where to eat. Â I pulled up Foursquare on my phone and saw this place, and it had good reviews, so I tried it. Â I really liked it! Â I got my food to go, which I think it what they cater too, as there were only a few small tables inside. Â I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and the Garlic Chicken and Cream Cheese Wontons. Â Its hard to find good chinese food in Orange County and this food was pretty good! Â I enjoyed it! Â If ever in the area again, I will definitely go! Â The only thing that wasnt quite so great, was the customer service. Â The people working there were not too friendly, in my opinion.
Review Source:Four Stars for the category of this business- Great delicious option if your craving a greasy chinese (fast) lunch / dinner takeout.
Is it gourmet? - No. Is it better than Panda Express- Absolutely YES. Well, in fact- I like their orange chicken better than P.F Changs or Peking Dragon in Dana Point (Highly recommend Peking Dragon for overall food.)
Great addition to the Talega area for take out on those nights you really do not want to cook! Or just a quick and dirty yummy bite to eat for lunch.
Prices are very decent, and portions are very satisfying. Always quick service.
My husband and I have collectively been to China and Hong Kong 21 times and so have eaten more than a thousand meals there and I can tell you that Bamboo Bamboo, which IS owned by Chinese chefs, makes terrific chinese food. Their veggies are always aldente, the meats are not overcooked or stringy and the sauses equal those found at the best 4-star Chinese hotels and restaurants. They are also very fast in making up your take out orders or dine in dishes. My husband loves to go in and brush up on his Chinese with the owners and managers there.
Review Source:Really love Bamboo Bamboo! Food is tasty and decently priced.
Recently we had a full house, and unsure what to order I just guessed on quantity... The honest woman taking our order told us that was way too much food for the amt of people we had, and told us how much we needed (much less)- and she was right.
So that really wowed us! We refer them ever chance we get, and in fact we're eating there tonight!
My only criticism is that they dont have an online menu.
The food is fresh and fast. Â Made to order with a smile. Â Eat there and they will take your order and bring it right over. Â The staff enjoys special recipes at about 1:30 p.m. Â They even shared some of their tofu and watercress dish with us and then offered to make a special dish next time called Mapo Tofu. Â Its not on the menu but i bet they will make it for you too...tell em how spicy you want it.
Review Source:Overall, I like this place better than Pick Up Stix. Â We ordered the orange chicken, beef fried rice, mongolian beef and egg flower soup.
Its clearly not a "gourmet" restaurant, but a nice addition to the area. Â There is a great lunch menu, and they deliver (minumum $18 order). Â The food is prepared quickly, and you do not have as much of a corporate feel like Pick Up Stix.
I recently called in for delivery and the nice lady on the phone told me it was going to be about an hour. Because I picked it up instead, she threw in free California Rolls. That was very nice of them.
Bamboo Bamboo is good fast Chinese food. Â The idea behind their food is similar to Pick Up Stix. Â In fact, someone told me that this company was owned by the founder of Pick Up Stix (let me know if you can verify that).
Anyway, we go there for lunch often. Â I really llke the house beef lunch special. Â You can get it with or without vegetables. Â It is a little on the sweet side though, so be warned. Â Like an earlier reviewer said, the lunch special includes salad, rice (steamed or fried) and a deep fried cream cheese won ton. Â It is a good amount of food and I am always happy with it.
The restaurant itself is a bit small and can be difficult to get in around lunch time. Â Take out however is very quick and efficient.
My co-workers have eaten here a few times now and recommed it over Pick Up Sticks(about 2 miles away), so I decided to give it a try for todays lunch; I had the Chef's Special Chicken which came with rice, a small salad and a cream cheese wonton. The chicken was very tasty; according to the menu it is cooked in wine sauce. I definitely needed more rice and discovered later that I could have subsituted my salad for more rice (I'll do this next time).
I will definitely eat here again and try more of the menu; it's not the best chinese food but it was decent and very affordable; the lunch special was $5.45
