I love, love, love this place! If you are looking for a great place to hang with some friends, be sure to come here!

First, they are super friendly and I always feel very comfortable here. It is always such a nice place to go after a long day at work or if you just need a fun night with friends. I really feel comfortable when I go to this place. It is very clean and is not a meat-market like a lot of night clubs.

Second, the food is really wonderful I have ordered their steak, burgers, steak and chicken quesadillas, salads, and their steamed shrimp. My favorites are the quesdillas and the shrimp. The portion size for meals is very good and the food quality is really outstanding!

Third, the dancing and music are a lot of fun. I like the contemporary country music and appreciate the dance lessons available nightly. The DJs are friendly and take requests and try to help you if you can't remember that one song you love, but just can't remember.

Finally, they offer some fun events such as the July 4 bathing suit contest, a New Year's Eve celebration, and a Valentine's Day event. Their military night and ladies night also draw a nice crowd.

Suggestions: I would love to have a band night, maybe on Sundays or Tuesdays?  I would also love to purchase a lifetime membership or something so I don't have to pay a cover charge everytime. Open on other nights of the week?

I think the only bummer things are they are only open Wednesday-Saturday! I want more Banque! I wish they had a mechanical bull. Those look like fun! The smoking room often leaks smoke into the rest of the night club so you sometimes leave smelling like smoke. And the cover can be a bit rough on those who are coming regularly or want to have dinner too, specifically $12 on a weekend night is really high.

This isn't really my type of place, as evidenced by the fact I was the only person there in a scaly cap and Red Sox shirt. Having said that, everyone was friendly and it's fun if you like country western themed everything.  The lack of beer on tap was odd and stranger still- they have a stage but no live music. Period. It's in a strip mall and there's nowhere to go to be outside, even the smoking area is a room in the bar.  To say this place is unique is to put it mildly but if you like NASCAR and voted for Toby Keith for president, this is your new watering hole. Don't forget to stop at the dollar store next door.

So for those of you that caught my check-in last night... I used to roll in this place often when I was 23. Why I don't know. I just know that I was always there on the weekends. And I don't even line dance.

Yep, good ol' HRVA has a lot of line dancing cowboys and cowgirls. They ALL happen to go to this joint. These boys and girls were KILLING it on the dance floor.

First, it's an $8 cover to get in. Then you will feel like you're walking into a special place inside of a building in a crappy shopping center. Once you forget where you are you realize that you're in the presence of bars, beers, a huge dance floor and even a back room where you can play cards (I think). If you're interested in sports there are TVs, not great ones, but TVs there to keep up on your side bets.

Best part of the night was watching this dude dance by himself on stage and then kill it all the line dances. A Filipino lady was there, too. Well, she was Asian but by the looks of her skills I would guess that she was Filipino. This place caters to everyone apparently.

Put on your cowboy hat and boots and get on over there. Dance, play beer pong or cornhole or just drink and observe. If you are brave enough they even have lessons during the week, too.

Another group outing with my golf friends will certainly take place there soon!

It's been over a year since we visited the Banque. Years ago, when the patrons were a bit more civilized we came twice a week but over the years it just became so hard to dance at the Banque.

Last night we met several friends for a birthday celebration and found the crowd had cleaned up a little. Now only a few of the gals dressed like street walkers. But, everyone was happy and having fun.

Unfortunately there are still some of the incredibly bad dancers who dominate the dance floor. I have always wondered where these people learn to dance. The Banque offers dance lessons by people who really know how to dance and teach. You would think that after all these years some of the good instruction would be put to use?

The food was good as it always is and the the service was also. Even though there is a fairly large crowd either milling around or dancing the place has some super good security. They have a dress code as well as a conduct code that's pretty well enforced. The DJ mix was mostly CW but sometimes borderline decent. HE played a few good 2-steps several swings no Waltzes and lots of Line Dance stuff.

If you want a good meal and socialize with friends this is a decent place. If you want to do some serious 2-stepping forget it.

I still think line dancing is comparable to putting on Nikes and drinking punch.

When you're from God's Country, you need to apply a lot of grace to these wanna-be kicker bars/clubs.  This was our first visit to The Banque to check it out, and the missus and I do look forward to returning again with friends, but it ain't like being back in Texas.

So, aside from the fact that it's jacked up between two of your finer establishments (Big Lots and Family Dollar) in a strip mall behind a Hollywood Video off of Little Creek Rd, there is no place to take a breather outside when patronizing this dance joint.

Also, there's no live music.  REALLY? Ever? Just a  DJ?  Why not just hook an iPod up to some speakers in a warehouse.  Which is pretty much what the 'dance instructor' did for the 7PM - Two-step Lesson and the 7:30PM - Line Dance Lesson.  At least she got her dancers to move counter-clockwise around the floor.

As The Banque is a restaurant, we decided to revictual with a couple of Shiner Bocks for me and a Corona (with lime!) for my bride.  No beer on tap.  REALLY?

I'm going to let our waitress remain nameless and use the appropriate moniker of "Sniffles" in order for her to recover anonymously.  I almost went to get her the Afrin out of my car... every time she came to or by our table it was a sniff-sniff here and a sniff-sniff there.... here a sniff, there a sniff, everywhere a sniff-sniff.  Seriously.  Sniff.

Spouse's country fried steak ($10.95) looked straight off the Sysco shelf but tasted okay.  The vegetable of the (sniff) day was green beans and they tasted excellent with a smokey flavor and spouse liked the beans better than the steak.  I opted for the (sniff) prime rib sandwich special (normally $8.99 but only $6.99 tonight) that was a great choice - delicious!

We think Sniffles was fairly new and meant well, but her being sick may have affected her not knowing the special and asked for our credit card to open a tab while we were there to eat dinner (it was not crowded and the bar manager gently corrected her that she didn't need a tab on us as we weren't young punk-fools that would run out on the bill)

I really wish they had live local bands showcasing their talent here, but at least we know what to expect whenever we go back.

This place is what I picture happens in small towns in West Virginia and Tennessee and such. It's in a strip mall. Nuff said. My friend is into line dancing so we decided to check it out late on a Saturday night. I don't think I realized the dancing was going to be so choregraphed, you really have to know what you're doing and all the moves and I think we were WAY too gone at that point to be learning new dance moves. And somehow I spent $25 on a few beers, which is too much in a dive like this. But it's huge inside and everyone is super friendly and you can go up on stage and act a fool and it's just a good ole country time (Imagine everyone singing "I've got friends in low places" and embracing). Cool spot.

I've only been here once on a Thursday night. It's located in a strip mall in between a Family Dollar and Big Lots, but not ghetto at all!

Here what I like about the place:
-Super friendly people. Server, door guy, strangers actually talking to you...nice vibe here. I think it would be a great place for singles, of all ages, to meet people ;)

-Smoking not a problem. I stayed in the main dancing area and didn't have to deal with any smoke.

-Big! Tons of space and seating.

-Good food. My burger and steak fries were delish at $7.99. Also tried my friends' garlic and parm wings and steamed shrimp and they were even better!

-Super country. The only other country bar I've been to is Saddle Ridge in Hampton and this place by far is more authentic. i was there from 7:30-9:30 and it was country music and country dancing the entire time. Lots of boots and cowboy hats! They have have a store up front selling country apparel.

FYI: Thursdays are apparently Ladies' Night (no cover), line dancing lesson night, poker night, and all-you-can-eat shrimp night until 8. Lots o' stuff to do!

I've lived in Norfolk all my life and never been here until a few months ago. We just randomly thought to check it out one night. My friends and I are not huge CW music fans and we definitely know nothing about line dancing, but I'd definitely come back. The service was nice and it was just a nice atmosphere. I didn't order any food, but will the next time. Definitely a good place to stop by if that is your thing!

My husband I generally come here for a poker tournament Friday nights at 7. The music is generally fun and a variety of modern country hits.

There is a smoking pit inside, which is a plus if you are a smoker (like my husband), but a little frustrating if you have to go in there to get someone and you aren't a smoker (like me).

They also have pretty good food and very decent prices and the happy hour drink specials are great!

Definitely a fun place to go if you like country music/line dancing or just want to hang out with a group of friends.

There is ladies' night on Thursdays with male strippers but that only lasts for the from 8 to 10 pm.  After that there is line-dancing to country music--sometimes they will throw in a few songs of different genres so don't expect all-country all-the-time. On weekends it is the same, minus the strippers.  I like the atmosphere, the music, and most of the people--

--however--I gave it three stars because, as the night wears on, the room gets smoke-filled from all the cigarettes.  I'm not against smoke but I am against smoke so thick that you go home coughing, eyes stinging, and wake up smelling like the most disgusting ashtray you can imagine.  I gave up going after a while because my eyes couldn't take the smoke anymore.
